“Walk While Ye Have the Light, Lest Darkness Come Upon You” [podcast]

Chapter 6 from the book Raised Up (narration)

HERE WE ARE – “Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you”

“Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.” John 12:35

Darkness is coming upon every person who is not saved AND presently, intentionally, obediently walking, living in the light.

Any person who was previously saved and yet is not in God’s Word daily, has already backslidden and is in need of returning to the LORD as “first love” (Revelation 2:4-5).

Those who do not walk in the light as they have received it from the LORD, shall “wax cold” and fall away (Matthew 24:10-13).

“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:10-14

Did you notice in verse 14 that those who are hot for Jesus are participating in the preaching of His Word until the end of the earth?

Anyone not devouring God’s Word daily is falling away, is not enduring to the end, is choosing to let their love for Jesus wax cold, and are on the wrong and losing end of this prophecy Jesus gave here on record in Matthew 24:10-14.

After warning His own New Testament saints of the danger of the 5 sins that kept God’s people out of their promised land, Paul beckons us to:

“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:12

The One who died on that cross for our sins requires that we never cover but rather take personal accountability and confess those sins. See Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:7-2:2.

“For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” Psalms 36:9
