Cross saturation, consumption, addiction! Praise God for the divine revelation of Colossians 3:3… in His cross, we are “HID with Christ in God.”
Those who seek to side-step the cross plainly reveal that they love self, not God (Matthew 22:37-40) and have a mere “form of godliness” while they deny Christ’s reign in their personal lives (2 Timothy 3:1-7). THE crucified life-the cross-is the only way to x-out self. Self MUST die or Christ will not raise up or reign. There are no shortcuts. Coming afresh to Jesus in repentance is where it all begins. If you are not dying, Jesus is not reigning. Today is your day.
DO I REALLY LOVE JESUS, or self? Daily, I prove who I love most. When this disciple loves Jesus more than self, Jesus is reigning and the old man crucified! Jesus, please anoint us now to be crucified and buried with Thee, in Jesus’ name, amen!
WE ARE going nowhere in God without the cross Jesus commanded us to take up! (Lk 9:23-24) It’s time to die not try. Try harder? No. Die deeper. That’s the cross Jesus calls us to and without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).
WE are not at all yet saturated with this death with Christ message out of which springs HIS life….. We shall be rocked and infected forever as His message begins to seep into our innermost being, Jesus willing!!!! Camp on this message beloved saints.
This baptism into Christ, death and burial with Christ, is the uttermost essential part of our relationship with Jesus – without which He will not raise us up – now or eternally! He has made us one with Him and the Father! (John 17)
BEWARE: Recently I saw where a lady is teaching that the biblical message of holiness cancels the message of the cross. There is no contradiction between holiness and the cross. Holiness and the cross are inseparable in the divine economy (John 15). In fact, there can be no true holiness outside Christ’s prescription – the daily cross. His apostles taught this same message of the cross (Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 4:10-12, etc.). Those who strive in the flesh to be holy will fail every time. WHAT does Galatians 3:3 teach us? And Zechariah 4:6 and Romans 8:13-14?
ARE YOU learning Christ’s cross? Are you truly being taught of God? How can Jesus ever raise us up if we don’t lay down our lives in death and burial? How long shall we, in utter futility, continue to attempt muscling our way through this life? Tired of it yet? May the LORD bring us to the end of self – so we can truly let go and let God (Colossians 3:3). Debbie Lord notes: “The glorious opportunity (that we would NEVER have chosen for ourselves but according to God’s Word is the ONLY way to live victoriously in Christ) is to DAILY die to ourselves (Luke 9:23) and be raised by Him and thereby purified and full of His resurrection LIFE and POWER, by His grace and full of His Love!!!”
