Giving and Lordship [podcast]

The Harvest is Plentiful, the Laborers Few

“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-39

Recently I saw a you tube channel of a couple young guys who go all over the streets preaching the Word. What a blessing! It was saddening not to have the ministry funds to send them. Due to not freely receiving, was unable to freely give (Matthew 10:8).

“People who ‘get it’ give to kingdom works, not local churches.” Bill Wegener

The cross in giving involves placing God and others above ourselves.

There will be some who are angered by this message and may I be so bold as to suggest that it’s always those who give the least who complain the most….

Read carefully -this is us! “WE (plural) are labourers TOGETHER with God.” (1 Corinthians 3:9)

“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:9

Can’t keep silent any longer. Typically, I restrain till it just can’t be kept silent any longer. I am just one fool, one mere man. Endless hours day and night are now being spent to edit the podcasts. This is exhausting and has to stop, now. This has grossly hindered the content output, and when content is being made I am utterly worn out causing the quality to be marginalized.

Recently, a sister who is a faithful worker in this outreach, said something to me that caused me to further realize the dismal effects of being exhausted and how it hinders the LORD’s work.

When the workers (laborers Christ has sent out) are lacking, they look outside of the work of Christ’s kingdom to try to make up the deficit of the money needed to do HIS work….. muzzling, starving out the very oxen who are plowing daily, doing the most important and only eternal work in the earth.

“For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.” 1 Corinthians 9:9-10

Read Luke 12 and 16.
