Thy Barns Shall be Filled with Plenty

“Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of ALL thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10

“Firstfruits” – According the LORD’s instructions to each of us, what is the very first check to write out when we get paid?

How did He instruct us to “honour” Him in the words above?

Are you honoring Him?

Are you a giver? Do you give of the “firstfruits of all thine increase” to the work of the One who gave you 100% of the ability to earn that money? Here are God’s promises to those who obey Him as givers: “So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:10)

Below is the most famous Bible passage on tithing. The New Testament does not instruct believers to tithe and yet Paul speaks of learning from the Old Testament Scriptures (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11). And, the blessing of the LORD to those who give is not negated and should not be diminished nor taught the be coming back to the believer on earth in a certain dollar amount. God repays now and perhaps mostly in eternity (Matthew 6:19-21).

“Bring ye all the tithes (free-will alms giving) into the storehouse (place where you are fed God’s Word), that there may be meat (spiritual substance) in mine house, and prove (test) me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 3:10-11

Some have wisely stated that the giver lives better on the 90% than the non-giver lives on the 100%. You cannot out-give God! No one ever has. The promise of our God says that if we obey the LORD with our monies, “So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)
