The Deceitful, Idolatrous Underpinnings of the Stopping all Sinning Focus

Stop all Sinning Idolatry

Did Jesus preach “stop all sinning” to the lost our “repent and believe”? That would be repentance and believing upon Him.

“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15

How can one “stop all sinning” BEFORE being born again which occurs when one repents and believes upon Christ? They can’t.

… Finney denied the sacrifice of Christ … These men have crept in unawares among us and teach that we are saved in part by “natural ability” and not wholly by Christ. They have thereby denied Christ. They even teach that sinners can “Stop Sinning” BEFORE they are saved! In other words, why did Jesus even have to come???? WOW! Galatians 2:21; 3:3 …. The cross of Christ and the daily cross is Christ’s solution for sin and not “natural ability” as Charles Finney and these false teachers teach. Romans 6 and 7 makes that more than obvious.

The ability to conquer all sin is the stated will of God and yet that divine ability (Grace = divine ability) does not enter the saved person until he is first saved. So how can someone “stop all sinning” before being saved by grace? Impossible. And, that is unmitigated idolatry, antichrist – putting self before, in place of Christ who alone is Savior and LORD. Repentance is first and foremost turning TO GOD and not turning from sin. If you get these out of order, you are a heretic.

Jesus told us to “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19) Jesus did not tell His disciples to scale the fish but rather to catch the fish or be used of Him to bring them in. Scaling is something only He who is Savior and Sanctifier can do – AFTER He brings the fish into the boat.

“Ye shall know them by their FRUIT.” (Matthew 7:16, 20): There system of heresies being taught by the wolves mentioned above does nothing but foster self pride which is luciferic and the antithesis of the Gospel Jesus gave us! (Isaiah 14:12-15)

IF your “Christianity” is not producing the fruit of love and humility, you are a lost soul. Read 1 Corinthians 13 until it gets in you – and causes deep repentance and a laying down of your life!

Holy living? YES!

But how?

Beware: While feigning to be holiness preachers, some today are actually promulgating a false gospel, a false emphasis which is moving the hearts of the gullible away from CHRIST, a sinful idolatry we are often warned about (Colossians 2:18-19). Evil, self-righteous men, posing as representatives of Christ, have crept in unawares and they want the credit for their “holiness” which is not “true holiness” but rather a false holiness, a pretentious sham (Ephesians 4:25). Also, they seem to want to beat others over the head (James 1:20) in the delusional pride of their own supposed holiness. Listen to this warning about this very sin which Jesus shows will be happening when He returns at the hands of unfaithful servants who previously knew Him:

“But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens …” Luke 12:45

The premise of self-righteous judgment is condemned:

“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1:20

One disciples notes:

“The devil is crafty. If you come against the sinning Christian gospel you are a legalist. If you come against the sinless perfection gospel you are a sinning Christian or lukewarm at best. Its a narrow road. The devil has traps laid at every turn. People need to be more vigilant.”

TO COMBAT THE RAMPANT EXCUSE-MAKING SEGMENT OF PROFESSING CHRISTENDOM THAT SAYS IT’S OKAY TO SIN AFTER BEING SAVED, THESE DEVILS HAVE CREATED ANOTHER HERETICAL SYSTEM OF LIES. INSTEAD OF SIMPLY SEARCHING OUT AND APPLYING THE BIBLICAL PRESCRIPTION FOR SIN, THEY TAKE TO THE FLESH TO COMBAT ONE HERESY AND NOW HAVE CREATED A WHOLE DIFFERENT SYSTEM OF DIABOLICAL ERROR.
BEWARE of anyone who preaches holiness and yet not the daily cross! The cross is the only divine prescription for holiness!

The very people who push the “stop all sinning now and then God will save you” heresy never preach the cross, the crucified life – without which no man can stop sinning, no man can overcome all sin.

“He that is dead (dead, buried, crucified with Christ) is freed from sin.” Romans 6:7

Read Romans 6 daily.

It’s only in obeying the LORD “from the heart that form of doctrine” – the doctrine of the crucified life – that one can be delivered from being a servant of sin.

“But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” Romans 6:17

Let no one fool you saints: Sin is overcome by the daily cross and yet most who preach holiness NEVER even mention this paramount biblical truth. The Essential Daily Cross

If stopping all sinning is your focus instead of Christ, you will never stop all sinning. In fact, you are currently, by this false balance/emphasis, committing the sin of idolatry. … All sinning will cease when we obey His command to be “crucified with Christ” and thereby His holy, enabling grace fills our hearts through true worship “in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24) All other forms of “holiness” are utter falsity and will not enter His eternal kingdom.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

WHO has Bewitched You?

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16

The biblical prescription for “true holiness,” (Ephesians 4:25) as opposed to a false holiness, is to know and abide in Jesus Christ (John 15). Only Christ can make us holy and without spot or blemish as we truly abide in Him in a faith-filled, obedient, and worship-filled relationship.

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6

God is able to establish our hearts in His grace and to multiply His grace to us (Hebrews 13:9; 2 Peter 3:18).

Who has put you under this spell of witchcraft, that you would think that you could please God, to earn His merit, by way of your own flesh?

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:1-3

Authentic, divine holiness comes at surrender, not by striving.

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” Philippians 3:10

The sinning these street preaching, self-righteous idolaters need to repent of is preaching a false gospel – one that does not uphold Jesus Christ as the supreme and glorious Savior and LORD but rather has redirected the focus of many to the futile, pretentious act of trying to “stop all sinning” all by oneself.

—- OUR first and foremost goal, as Christ’s true disciples, is to LOVE, WORSHIP, to SEEK, and KNOW our LORD …. and not to “stop all sinning!” One comes before the other in the divine economy and so beware of those who pervert the order of the LORD’s Word which inevitably germinates and creates idolatry of the heart and actually misdirects all the focus on us. Such a false focus as to “stop all sinning” sounds good on the outside and yet is self-serving and originates from a soul-damning, SELF-righteous heart!

“Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:3

Confess all sin yes! And, receive divine mercy for forgiveness and grace to overcome!

THE TESTIMONY OF SCRIPTURE LEADS US TO A LIFE OF CONFESSING ALL SIN – THAT’S FOR CERTAIN (1 JOHN 1:6-2:2, ETC.).

To underscore exactly why you will never meet or see the countenance of a “stop all sinning” idolater with the slightest joy, here’s a telling testimony from a former -“stop all sinning” idolater:

All sinning will cease when His holy, enabling grace fills our hearts through true worship “in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24) All other forms of “holiness” are utter falsity and will not enter His eternal kingdom.

“If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.” Job 9:20

“Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?” Proverbs 20:9

The message of Jesus, John the Baptist, the apostles, and Peter in Acts etc was “Repent” and not “stop sinning.” That only comes AFTER a lost person repents and is born again.

Repentance is needed. It’s an imperative (Luke 13:3, 5). True repentance is first and foremost turning TO God and not just turning from sin. Many false converts who are sorry for their sins seek to turn from them but yet they never truly turn in their hearts to Christ and truly believe upon Him to everlasting life (Luke 8:12-15). And, perhaps the preaching of “stop all sinning,” which does not focus on CHRIST, leads people into a false repentance.

“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? ³¹And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:30-31

Have we greatly overcomplicated the original Gospel message?

Perhaps we should consider ceasing to tell everyone else to repent and consider doing so ourselves and begin with our own sin of being misled by a false gospel and preaching that false emphasis to others (Job 19:28). Listen to Jesus’ apostle who counted all else “but dung” to know Jesus: “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” (Philippians 3:6-10)

Note the essential cross in this vital passage … something completely disregarded and removed from the Gospel message by the devils who preach “Stop all sinning” – “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” It’s only by that daily cross Jesus mandated us to take up that sin is conquered in the resurrection power of Christ and not by the self-effort of forgetting God and straining to supposedly overcome all sin while we commit the sin of self-idolatry.

If you think I am justifying any sin at all, you are absolutely dead wrong and perhaps unrepentant and unteachable and so covering those sins by attacking the mere human messenger here.

“Be ye holy as I am holy” says the LORD and yet He didn’t leave us to ourselves to make holiness happen (1 Peter 1:15-16; Hebrews 12:14, etc.). Holiness can only come from Him, in a truly abiding relationship, which will always produce His “true holiness” as opposed to feigned, false, pharisee holiness (John 15). There’s an eternity of difference between the true holiness that only the LORD can produce in us as we truly love and worship and obey Him, and a counterfeit holiness which seeks the praises of mere sinful men. Listen to the LORD who is speaking to the false holiness preachers of today:

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. ²⁴Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel (pervert divine priorities). ²⁵Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup (to be seen of men) and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.” Matthew 23:23-25

God sees our sins and so perhaps we could be willing to be authentic, honest, and cease the parade of falsity. The psalmist cried:

“O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.” Psalms 69:5

Further examining the order of things ….

Did the repentant, forgiven thief on the cross cry to Jesus “LORD, I’m going to try to stop all sinning” or did he simply say “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” … “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 22:42-43)

God is no fool. Christ came for a reason and that is due to our own helpless state outside of His divine intervention. All sin is conquered by and through Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own precious blood (Revelation 1:5). His grace, in an abiding relationship with Christ, grants the compete victory over all sin and yet He also made provision for the believer if that person were to falter (1 John 1:3-2:2; Romans 6:14; Titus 2:11-14, etc.).

Mankind is fallen and Christ alone is our Solution!

Total Depravity, as defined by Calvinism, says that fallen man is so depraved that he cannot even make a choice. Nonsense. Yet, mankind is fallen and the effects of sin should be obvious in Scripture and personal experience.

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5

“Simple Concerning Evil” [podcast]

Holy Scripture uses the phrase “simple concerning evil.”

“For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple (innocent) concerning evil.” Romans 16:19

“But I would have you – Not only obedient, but discreet also. Wise with regard to that which is good – As knowing in this as possible. And simple with regard to that which is evil – As ignorant of this as possible.” John Wesley

Concerning Romans 16:19 Donald Stamps writes:

“God wants believers to be innocent (Gk. akeraios) in what is evil; this word means ‘unmixed’ or ‘pure,’ i.e., innocent like a child whose mind has not yet been exposed to evil or mixed with the values of the world (cf.1 Cor. 14:20). (1) This biblical principle is in direct opposition to the idea advocated by some that children of Christians should be exposed to sin, immorality, ungodliness, and the things of Satan in order to learn to confront temptation. Some suggest that children need not be guarded from ungodliness. However, according to biblical revelation, the philosophy is not only against God’s will for the believer, but also represents Satan’s own desire that everyone be exposed to the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 3:5). (2) Knowledge of evil, along with continual exposure to Satan’s ways, will lead many from the path of faith and obedience. Lot found this out to his deep sorrow, losing his entire family for this reason (Gen. 13:12-13; 19:1-38). Scripture warns that ‘evil communications’ (i.e., company) corrupt good manners (1 Cor. 15:33), and that ‘Jesus Christ … gave himself … that he might deliver us from this present evil world’ (Gal. 1:3-4). Those who advocate exposing innocent children to an ungodly environment and/or influence are in danger of violating Jesus’ warning in Matthew 18:6. (3) Believers should do all within their means and power to guard their children from being exposed to the deceitfulness and sin and the perverseness of this generation. Spoil the innocence of a child or others and God will spoil, bring ruin to you.

“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6

Concerning the fact and principle of offering children to Satan on the altar of Moloch, one source notes the following:

“Based on historical and biblical accounts, child sacrifice to Moloch was a Canaanite and Phoenician ritual, often described as offering children to a deity in a “tophet” (place of burning). Scholars interpret this act as a desperate attempt to appease a god associated with the underworld or to ensure divine favor in exchange for the ultimate sacrifice.

Why Children Were Offered to Moloch:

Appeasement of a Deity: Moloch (or Mlk) is identified by some scholars as an underworld deity or a Phoenician god linked to the underworld, requiring the ultimate sacrifice to ensure favor or safety.”

“Lot … Pitched His Tent Toward Sodom”

“Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.” Genesis 13:12-13

Of the act of Lot pitching his tent toward Sodom, the late Donald Stamps wrote:

“PITCHED HIS TENT TOWARD SODOM. Lot’s great failure was that he loved personal gain more than he hated the wickedness of Sodom (v10-13). (1) If he had loved righteousness sufficiently (see Heb. 1:9), it would have caused him to remain separate from the wicked ways of sinful people. Instead he tolerated evil and chose to live in wicked Sodom (v13). Perhaps he reasoned that the material advantages, culture, and pleasures of Sodom outweighed the dangers, and that he was strong enough to remain faithful to God. Thus, he exposed himself and his family to the immorality, and ungodliness of Sodom, only to learn the bitter lesson that his family was not strong enough to resist its evil influences (Gen. 19:24-26; 30-38). (2) Parents must be careful not to place themselves or their children in a “Sodom,” lest they come to spiritual ruin as did the family of Lot.” Donald Stamps, Life in the Spirit Study Bible, p. 27

“Although Lot was distressed by the filthy deeds he saw and heard (2 Pet. 2:7-8), he still was willing to tolerate the wickeness of Sodom for social and material advantages (13:12 note). This compromise brought tragedy to his family (v24). Likewise, believers today who expose their families to ungodly environments and evil influences for social or material gain are setting themselves up for family tragedies.” Donald Stamps, Life in the Spirit Study Bible, p. 34

Gentlemen, if we lust for the things of this world, it will cause us to sacrifice God’s truth on the altar of our greed and cause needless destruction in our families.

Key to a pure, innocent heart…. is that the LORD Almighty is truly first in our lives, that we are truly one with Him—just as Jesus prayed in John 17. The futile god of self must be denounced, as well as the sin of spiritual adultery and idolatry.

5 Soul Damning Sins Named! Learning from History! [podcast]

THE 5 SINS THAT KEPT ISRAEL (God’s own covenant people) OUT OF THEIR PROMISED LAND OF BLESSINGS and will keep us out if not relinquished. Friend, please read 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 with all your might. Make this text your meat.

The world seeks to romance sin but if God says it’s sin, that’s what it is. Toning down the terms changes nothing. Judgment Day is on the way.

We are fighting the good fight of faith, “striving against sin” and “more than conquerors” over sin through Jesus who loves us and bought us with His own blood! (1 Timothy 6:12; Hebrews 12:4; 13:12; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:37)

There are the 5 sins listed here that kept God’s people out of His blessings. We all need to L.I.F.T.M. up to the LORD in repentance and for His perfect forgiveness and cleansing. God the Holy Spirit warns us here through Paul’s pen (1 Cor. 10:1-13), that Israel and these sins are “examples” (vv. 6, 11) to all NT believers. God destroys those who go back on Him after knowing Him (transgressors – Ps. 68:21; 73:28; 125:5, etc.). If not ridden out of our lives, any one of these 5 sins WILL keep us out of our promised land. God is holy (Heb. 12:14). As taken in order from 1 Cor. 10:6-10, here are those 5 sins:

Lust
Idolatry
Fornication
Tempting Christ
Murmuring

This simple acronym should help us to remember these sins and remain separate from them as we grow today to know and love our Savior more fervently. “Keep thyself pure” (1 Timothy 5:22).

Committing the sin is one thing (1 John 1:8-10, right) and refusing to repent of it is yet another. Refusing to acknowledge, repent, confess, and cease is what snares the soul and ousts us from Christ (Proverbs 28:13).

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

If the Holy Spirit has quickened any offences of your heart, simply L.I.F.T.M. up to Christ the Redeemer, Forgiver, Cleanser, and Transformer of lives.

WHATEVER it takes – those who choose to get real with God will sever themselves from anything and anyone who causes them to sin. This is what Jesus says about sin and hell:

“And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.” Mark 9:43-50

NOTICE: When a believer or group of believers backslides, they no longer separate from the transgressors who are unrepentant:

“It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have (Gr. possessed and wouldn’t repent) his father’s wife. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:1-2

1 Corinthians 10 completely destroys the OSAS / eternal security argument.

Notice the word “OUR” in verses 6 and 11. This is directly spoken to warn NEW Testament saints that they are going to hell if they live and die in sin.

Eternal security is a false teaching. 1 sin separated Adam and Eve from God and “The wages of sin is (still) death” because God is Holy (Rom 6:23, etc.). Moral coward counterfeits hate, despise the Gospel essential of the cross, the crucified life. They want Jesus to save them to Heaven but not from sin. These are the sin-justifying, grace-perverting “ungodly men” Jude warned us about (Jude 4).

The divine declaration that “The wages of sin is death” which means separation from God, appears throughout Scripture (Romans 6:23).

“He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.” Proverbs 19:16

Die or death always means separation.

OSAS/eternal security is a lie from hell. OSAS was Satan’s first lie and so it’s blasphemy to teach this doctrine of devils and claim it’s part of the Gospel. You are attributing Satan’s lie to the LORD Jesus. Repent now sinner. See Genesis 2:17; 3:4; Romans 11:20-22; 1 Timothy 4:1; Hebrews 3:6, 12-14; 10:26-39; 2 Peter 2:20-21; Jude 4, etc..

The concept of an un-conditional eternal security is not established in Scripture … Except for it being Satan’s first teaching, His first lie – the “Ye shall NOT surely die” lie (Genesis 2:17; 3:4).
