Say it Out Loud! [podcast]

Confession is biblical. The problem comes in when cross-less false teachers use this truth to their own self-serving agenda and teach others to do the same (Philippians 3:18-19).

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:20-21

Many today are using God’s Word to get things from Him, for their own selfish lusts, instead of confessing the essential cross into their lives which is an original Gospel imperative – and out of which posture the LORD Himself shall raise them up (Luke 9:23-24; Galatians 2:20; James 4:10).

The only positive affirmation the true disciple wishes to declare is positively stating Holy Scripture – in it’s immediate and biblical context! Those who fear the LORD dare not attempt to use the words of the LORD in vain against Him in order to themselves procure personal gain.

Jesus made us to know Him, not to use Him to get what we want.

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3

So, a biblical confession would be – “Dear LORD, You created me to know and to love and to worship You. I want to know You more Jesus. Help me please. Make me one with You and the Father. In Jesus’ name.”

God is putting His Word into your mind as you’ve been attentive to Him, to His words…. and now, as you enact, as you put His Word into motion in your personal life, His revelation, the revelation of Jesus Christ and how good He is is going to manifest in ways you’ve never experienced. It’s always completely for His glory and your good (Romans 8:28-29). He made you to know Him, to worship, to adore, to obey, and to love Him (Matthew 22:37-39; John 17:3; Philippians 3:10).

The whole reason Jesus came, the whole reason for eternal life – is that we might know Him! (John 17:3)

Christ’s disciples are to fill their hearts and minds with God’s Word and meditate upon it and speak it.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

Below is a sampling of what Christ’s disciples should humbly confess before God – to declare His Word into their own lives, recognizing that He’s ordained us to be crucified with Christ, to be conformed to the holy image of His only begotten Son (Romans 8:29; Galatians 2:20).
