Coin that Counts! The Quality Investment

Making Your Investment Count!

GOD does not hold the world accountable for supporting His Great Commission He gave us but rather His own people – and He even set up an eternal investment fund for them to reap eternal rewards for doing so (Matthew 6:19-21; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, etc.).

Jesus did not tell His people not to invest. He did however tell us where to and where not to invest.

If we invest in business or retirement accounts or anything on the earth, we may or may not get our money back much less get it back with interest. In contrast, every time, without fail, that we invest in God’s kingdom, it will yield eternal reward with divine interest.

The Son of God taught us this:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

Also, we should take close heed to the words of our LORD in verse 21 above. Here in this brief life, “WHERE” we choose to put our treasures is exactly where the affections of our heart will be. In fact, if we will take account of and consider how we have been putting our money into earthly things only and/or not putting God first when we get paid, we will see why our hearts have grown cold (Proverbs 3:9-10). I know this is not easy but it is essential in getting our lives in order and the blessing that await are untold! Though a day of rest or tithing are not requirements for salvation, the quality of our lives in Christ  are greatly enhanced when we follow His wisdom.   All who cut out from the very top a portion for the LORD, will testify to the exuberance of their faith. Getting our stewardship/finances in God’s order will do wonders for our life with Christ.  Do you want to get on fire, perhaps where you once were? if so, begin putting your money where your mouth is. Give into the needs of those around you and into Christ’s work. Do your part. Seek first and foremost His kingdom and all those others things you are praying for will be added to your life! Did He not promise? (Matthew 6:33)

Do you desire a clear conscience without which you cannot truly enjoy this life? Read Haggai 1 and discover just why God allowed holes in the pockets and purses of His own people. “There is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9) The same sin exists today in many who claim Christ as Savior and the same divine solution is available to appropriate – if we will simply be “willing and obedient” we shall “eat the good of the land.” (Isaiah 1:19-20)

Is resting one day a week (observing a day of worship and rest) necessary for New Testament Christians? No. Is it a sin to do? No, unless one believes that somehow makes them more righteous. Does God bless those who do observe a day of rest in order worship Him unhindered and replenish? Yes. Now, turn that same logic over to giving the first portion of our income to Christ. Is tithing commanded under the New Testament? No. Does God still bless those who do put their very “firstfruits” into what glorifies Him?

“Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10

“Laying up in store a … a good foundation”

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19

It seems obvious in this passage (and others) that those who have extra in this life must give in order to prepare for judgment and to “lay hold on eternal life.” God is going to bring the rich into judgment for the way they spent those riches – to further His Gospel cause which would include feeding the poor, equity among His saints, and helping New Testament ministries.

Did you note that the “rich” are to be “ready” and “willing to communicate (give)”?

SOLID investments get no better than Christ’s kingdom! Matthew 6:19-21

HOW a Gospel outreach that is now reaching over 6k people daily (on ministry website alone) with God’s Word can go days and sometimes weeks without a single online donation, seems a bit shocking! Wow. Bibles, Christ-centered Scripture-rich books going forth, poor being fed, prisoners receiving Gospel resources, etc. Just going to keep doing HIS work and hope more others who claim Christ will participate. What’s 1 John 3:18 say?
