FALSE FASTINGS are simply an avoidance of dying which is exactly the divine purpose for a divine fast. It’s very important to read what God’s Word says about fasting before and during your fastings. Beginning in Isaiah 58 will greatly help you.

Until you crucify the flesh beloved, your life is going no where in God. There are no shortcuts. Fasting and prayer is the straightest line, the quickest route from point A to B.

WE should beware of those who have to TELL everyone how they fast, they fast for 40 days, etc. I’ve personally known people who claim they’ve done 40 day fasts and well, they didn’t possess impressive fruit in their lives. In fact, one of them comes to mind who has now been backslidden for many years. Beware. Those who have to announce such are seeking to position themselves above others, directly violating the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 20:24-28; 23:10-12, etc.).

“Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:16-18

Fasting – GOD’s Way!

UNTIL you begin obeying God by fasting and praying, your so-called desire to overcome is mere lip service ….. and perhaps false humility and hypocrisy …. It’s time to truly repent …. Jesus is coming and if you are not overcoming daily, you are not ready …. Yet, fasting must be done GOD’s way and no other.

Jesus has YOUR Breakthrough ! … but only if you do it HIS way.

WHEN you set apart a time to fast and pray, the way God intends and expects you to do, you are saying “Jesus, I want YOU to reign in my life! ‘You must increase but I must decrease.’ Anoint me to the death and burial of self Jesus so that You are reigning in Your power and grace in this life!”

YOU AND this mere fool have no chance at all to overcome … outside of doing things God’s way!

YOU ARE NO MATCH FOR THE FLESH. THE FLESH OWNS ALL WHO REFUSE THE DAILY CROSS JESUS PRESCRIBED FOR TRULY FOLLOWING HIM (LUKE 9:23-24). IT’S ONLY BY THE POWER OF CHRIST BY “THE FAITH OF THE OPERATION OF GOD” THAT WE CAN BE RAISED UP INTO OVERCOMING RESURRECTION LIFE (COLOSSIANS 2:12-13). THE CROSS.

“BURIED WITH HIM IN BAPTISM, WHEREIN ALSO YE ARE RISEN WITH HIM THROUGH THE FAITH OF THE OPERATION OF GOD, WHO HATH RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD.” COLOSSIANS 2:12

The LORD rebukes His people Israel in Isaiah 58 as He is doing this day for their false fasts that are completely self-serving. The whole reason to fast is that you die and are buried so that Christ alone can reign supreme in your life.

If you fast TV for example, it will profit you nothing because sins like watching too much TV is not the root of the problem – the flesh is the root of your problem and it must be crucified daily. Fasting simply aids in this necessary cross mortification of the iniquitous fallen nature (Romans 6).

The cross is ultra important because the reciprocal divine response is resurrection.

THERE WILL BE NO FASTING IN HELL. IT WILL BE TOO LATE!

Do you desire to be used of the LORD more powerfully in this late hour?

If so, it’s clear that the LORD has led you to this post. He has your answers. They are only in Christ “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:8-9).

Dare you claim to be serving Jesus Christ and you don’t fast? Jesus says “WHEN ye fast” and not IF you fast. When speaking to His disciples of the whole New Testament era, Jesus says:

“Moreover WHEN ye fast …” Matthew 6:16

Fasting directly effects the crucifixion of the self-life which is what is withholding the blessed power of Christ in the lives of believers today!

One man has correctly stated:

“Either you will crucify self or self will crucify Christ right out of your life!”

Is Colossians 3:3 a reality in your life today?

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3

Do you wish to be daily empowered by the glory of Christ? Well, if so – die. Lay down your life. Surrender all.

Jesus Christ says He is “the resurrection and the life” and as you die, He will personally raise you up! (John 11:25). You will no longer be relegated to your own feeble strength but will walk in the limitless power of the divine Savior. God’s will will truly be accomplished in and through your life.

“Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you. 2 Corinthians 4:10-12.

PRIMARILY, FASTING IS NOT FOR YOU BUT TO THE CONTRARY, FASTING IS TO KILL YOU SO CHRIST CAN REIGN SUPREME IN YOUR LIFE. FASTING IS ALL ABOUT DYING TO SELF. FASTING TV, ENTERTAINMENT, OR ANY OTHER MERE SYMPTOM OF SIN IS A WASTE. WE SEE NO SUCH FAST IN SCRIPTURE. BIBLICAL FASTING IS ABSTAINING FROM FOOD AND WATER OR A CERTAIN DIETARY FAST THAT IS LIMITED TO CERTAIN INGREDIENTS. NEVER NEVER DO WE SEE FASTING OTHER THINGS AS AFOREMENTIONED. DANIEL’S FAST CONSISTED OF A CERTAIN MIXTURE OF FOOD INGREDIENTS AND YET BIBLICAL FASTINGS GENERALLY CONSIST OF NO FOOD AT ALL (DANIEL 1:12, 16).

There will never be victory in our personal lives until we absolutely literally put God’s Word into practice (James 1:22). Fasting and prayer is an indispensable component of a victorious Christian Life. Isaiah Chapter 58.

Chosen or Counterfeit Fastings?

Isaiah 58

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”

QUESTION:

“Just want to find out, if I fast, do I only fast when I feel Holy Spirit leading me to do it? I want to fast once a week but I’m scared that I might fall under the law if I do that.”

REPLY:

No, we fast deliberately because He already instructed us to do so – “WHEN ye fast.” (Matthew 6:6). Personally, and for many years now, I set aside Monday as a day of great joy – fasting and extra prayer, seeking our LORD who is so very gracious to us.

“He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” Matthew 12:30

It’s one thing to claim we are with Christ and He with us, and it’s another thing to prove we are with the Savior by adhering to His words. Jesus told us that those who are “of God” hear and obey His words (John 8:47).

If one chooses not to love Jesus enough to obey His stated terms, such a man has rejected the Son of God for the love of sinful self and will perish in his own corruption (Matthew 22:37-40; Luke 9:23-24; 14:33; 17:33; John 14:15; 1 John 2:3-6, etc.).

“Repentance is to TAKE SIDES with God against yourself. It is a CHANGE of attitude toward SELF, toward SIN, toward GOD, toward CHRIST that is so REAL that it RESULTS in a changed life. It is raising the WHITE FLAG in SURRENDER to God and turning to Christ as your only LORD and Savior. Repentance is NOT a work … works are the fruit of repentance (Ephesians 2:8-10).” Trent Austin

Only the counterfeit will get upset at this Gospel message because such a rebel wants nothing to do with taking personal responsibility for his sin, the denial of self, the crucified life to be set apart, holy, and having the Savior reign!

Notice how Jesus knits the denial of self, the daily cross, the putting off the deeds of the body, of keeping under the body (the iniquitous fallen nature) with the destiny of the eternal soul.

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” Luke 9:23-25

Jesus made it clear here that the cross is an original Gospel essential, an absolute imperative to eternal glory with Him!

Each of us proves exactly who we love the most by the way we are living! – God or self!

Everything that is happening in your life now is being allowed by God in order to get you down low into the death and burial with Christ. Read 2 Corinthians 4.

Jacked Up Jezebel Rebuked [podcast]

Any person defending this jezebel heresy that women can be pastors, elders over men, is under the control of Satan, period. And in need of true repentance (James 4:7).

—-There are NO female apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, or teachers under the New Testament (Ephesians 4:8, 11-12). Jesus gave these “gifts unto MEN.” (Ephesians 4:8) There is not even one woman mentioned in 27 books as an elder over Christ’s flock. Such is clearly forbidden (1 Timothy 2:11-12). In Acts 21:9 we read of Phillip’s daughters which “did prophesy” which is a gift of the Spirit (one of the nine-1 Corinthians 12:7-10). The office gifts are eldership functions for men called to be overseers over Christ’s flock, which is completely different than the gifts of the Spirit which every believer can function in and certainly women are seen doing such as Phillip’s daughters and how women are mentioned concerning operating in the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 14.

Classic case of a jezebel lashing out when the Word of GOD corrects her (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Her rebellion is against God. Jezebel is utterly rebellious. She hates what God’s Word says and so the demons that control jezebels will lash out in personal attacks against the men who stand on the truth unwaveringly (such as did Elijah whom Jezebel sought to kill).

“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” 1 Timothy 2:11-14

“As I look around America I ask myself who can find a virtuous woman? Whose whole life is surrendered to God. And centered in the fear of the Lord. No woman will submit to their husbands unless they first submit to God. Ephesians 5:22 says women are to submit to their husbands, “as unto the Lord.” That must come first. And what is a great price in the sight of God? A woman who has a meek and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:4). This is true beauty to God. But Jezebels are the complete opposite. Full of rebellion, pride and hatred! God says throw her down!” Karen Cochran

From the divine perspective, this is not about oppression but rather about protect. See Revelation 2:20-24 to see what Jesus warns when a woman is allowed to lead as an elder in the body of Christ. He uses the words “The depths of Satan” and speaks of the death and destruction that will result when the men allow a woman to lead in a manner that is outside of the stated role God ordained for the woman.

Yes the LORD said He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh, sons and daughter, but not to anoint a woman to do something HE forbids. Women are to teach women yes but not the general body of believers (Titus 2:1-5). There are NO female elders in the New Testament. God forbids it. Eldership is reserved for men – to humbly teach, lead and protect and cherish women and children.

When people don’t like what God’s Word states, they will attack the mere messenger as if that changes the truth. Not. And, they heap judgment on themselves by doing so (Matthew 7:1-5; James 2:13). Persecution

Revelation 2:20-24

Revelation 2:20-24 is about a certain self-appointed woman who was allowed by the spineless men in Thyatira to operate out of the biblically-stated order for women in the church setting.

Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Rev 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

What Should be the Response of the Body of Christ? – LOVE!

Reading 1 Corinthians 13 each morning this week is a life changer. Nothing in our lives is going to work out right if we don’t prayerfully endeavor to walk in God’s love – loving God and our neighbor, above ourselves. I love pouring prayerfully over 1 Corinthians 13 and Philippians 2:3-5. Life changing is an understatement!

Racism is hatred and is not a skin color. It is a heart condition – coming from a sinful heart. Memorize Romans 2:11.

In the time of tribulation for the believers at Thessalonica, the Holy Spirit spoke through Paul and said this:

“And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5

By this we know of a certainty that the Holy Spirit is leading, directing our “hearts into the LOVE of God” and not the flesh, not a fleshly response. We now face tribulation and can be assured by this truth that our unchanging God is directing our hearts into His love and not hatred.

This is a divine truth for every era, every hour…. and we sure know that sin is exponentially abounding in this late hour…. which means divine grace is even greater – to save, heal, bless, deliver, and make whole!!!!

“But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” Romans 5:20

Here’s more evidence of God’s leading His people into the love walk in trying times:

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:7-8

Any person who does not walk in God’s love is not saved and we know that from many Scriptures. No hate, no hater shall enter Christ’s kingdom, no matter what justification that sinner thinks he has to warrant hating anyone. “He that loveth not knoweth not God.” (1 John 4:8) “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” (1 John 3:15)

When His disciples ask Him “what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”, Jesus gave them this answer:

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation (ethnic group) shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:4-13

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.” 2 Timothy 2:3-5

The Church began, will end as containing precious souls from every nation, kindred, and tongue (Acts 2; Revelation 5:9; 14:6).

The New Testament church began with men from every nation under Heaven and will be the same throughout eternity in glory.

“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;” Revelation 5:9

Yes we can be at peace, Jesus told us to fear not and to be at peace …..
