“Open Rebuke is Better than Secret Love” [podcast]
How does the Bible, how does God define Love?
“Open rebuke is better than secret love. 6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Proverbs 27:5-6
Here’s what I give to those who refuse the Bible truth on essential matters of the original Gospel:
According to Matthew 7:6 and Titus 3:9-11 you are now blocked. – this is my response after someone rejects the Word, the truth of God, “after the first and second admonition reject;”
Read these 2 passages above. Obey God. The LORD is begging no one to believe and live out His truth. Hit and run. Never haggle with rebels.
“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” Matthew 7:6
When are we to “reject” someone?
“A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;” Titus 3:10
Here’s more of the passage:
“But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. 10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; 11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.” Titus 3:9-11
So the person who doesn’t receive the truth of God is “subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.”
It’s apparent by His Word that God doesn’t want His people needlessly entangled with truth rejecting counterfeits.
One writer notes:
“We’ve turned “Judge not’ into “see no evil’, while Jesus said it to rebuke hypocrisy, not holiness (Matt. 7:1-5). Truth without love is cruel; love without truth is cowardice.”
Here’s what the apostle Paul spoke to a false prophet of his day:
“And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?” Acts 13:10
Do we recall how Paul openly rebuked Peter on record in Galatians 2 for dissimulating with the Jews?
“Galatians 2:11-14 But – The argument here comes to the height. Paul reproves Peter himself. So far was he from receiving his doctrine from man, or from being inferior to the chief of the apostles. When Peter – Afterwards, Came to Antioch – Then the chief of all the Gentile churches. I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed – For fear of man, Gal 2:12; for dissimulation, Gal 2:13; and for not walking uprightly. Gal 2:14.” John Wesley
