Deuteronomy 18:9-14

Abominable Practices

“When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.  12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.” Deuteronomy 18:9-14

There’s a reason why mediums and mediumship are condemned throughout the Bible. It’s for your protection!

We cannot talk with the dead – only with demons realistically pretending to be deceased loved ones. Mediums will deliver facts about your loved one that no one else knew, as the demons know enough to fool and deceive people. The medium may be the world’s kindest and best-intentioned person who claims to be a Christian; however, mediums are being used (often unknowingly) by demons.

How do I know this? Because I practiced and taught mediumship for years before Jesus saved me and I read the whole Bible.

The “great cloud of witnesses” in Hebrews 12:1 is NOT about our deceased loved ones. That verse describes the previous chapter Hebrews 11 which describes the Bible’s heroes of faith (Abraham, Noah, Sarah, David, etc.) who are the cloud of witnesses who inspire us with their faith in God.

If our loved ones were believers and we are believers, we will see them again in Heaven. Until that time, talk only to God, and not to dead people, angels, or spirit guides so that you won’t be deceived by Satan masquerading as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14-15).

If your heart is grieving a loss, pray for God to comfort you, seek out Christian fellowship and support, and read the Psalms for comfort. Do not turn to the false messages of mediumship which point people away from Jesus and the Bible.
