“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

The divine tapestry, the assimilation of grace, works, assurance, and faith.

WHEREVER you see sin in the world, or in your own life, remember that there is a way out – God made that way through His only begotten Son.

All sin can be overcome and so repent and be refreshed and REJOICE because where sin is, God’s grace can abound much more:

“Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” Romans 5:20

Is such not a principle in God’s economy of dealing with men? The Bible repeatedly foretells that in the very last days of this sinful age, temptations and sin would abound:

(in the final days) But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” 2 Thessalonians 2:3

“And because iniquity shall abound (be epidemic), the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:12-13

Gross and epidemic homosexuality is revealed by God as the last stage of apostasy before great judgment falls on a nation (Romans 1, etc.). The great “falling away” is well under way and escalating exponentially, and yet God’s grace (regardless of whether or not we personally realize it) is abounding yet more and more in His saints throughout the earth to save and bless men. His original intention and purpose in the Gospel (Good News) has not changed. More than all Christians combined, the One who bled on Calvary deeply desires to make His beautiful salvation effectual to the multitudes He died and raised to rescue. The Father doesn’t want any to perish but that all would come to repentance and be saved (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9).

“Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.” Acts 3:26

As we know, if there is no repentance, there will be no grace granted (Luke 13:3,5, etc.). Repentance is essential for the reception of salvation and divine blessing. This message is no attempt to ignore such a non-negotiable, divine requirement. What did our LORD tell us to do when we see all the evil of the last days that He foretold would come to pass before our eyes? Jesus instructed us to:

“Look up” Luke 21:28

While specifically enumerating the events which would transpire in the final days of this age, ushering in His return to earth, the Rock of all ages said:

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28

“Your redemption draweth nigh (close).

    – Jesus Is Coming Soon.

The next time you become overwhelmed at the site of all the sin abounding around you or in you, remember that God’s grace does “much more abound.”

May our LORD grant us the abounding grace to thank Him for His keeping power and joy to live pleasing to Him in all things, and to communicate the saving Gospel to others.

“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:5

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” Jude 24

When God’s love is truly made perfect in us, we will speak His truth that He might bring precious lost souls home (Eph. 4:15; Rev. 22:17).

WHEN Paul spoke about his work, his labor in the LORD, he added and attributed it to the grace (divine fuel, empowerment, ability) of God (1 Cor 15:10).

“But I simply can’t overcome” is something we hear. Through Christ alone, we’ve been given “Grace (divine enablement) to help in time of need.”

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Whenever God commands something, He also provides the grace for it to manifest in your life – as you are submitted to Him (James 4:6-10; 1 Peter 4:10-11). His grace, divine enablement, operational power, is always sufficient to bring His perfect will to pass in our lives and to bring us through any and all difficulties, grueling seasons we may find ourselves in! (2 Corinthians 9:8; 12:9-10; 1 Peter 5:10)

Do you have more faith in sin than you do in the saving grace of Christ to give you the victory over it? That is a perverted faith! Flip your faith! Repent and renew your mind, asking God to forgive you afresh and thanking Him aloud for His all-sufficient grace He provided through Christ’s perfect sacrifice on that cross! (Romans 6:14)

Are you indicting God by saying His grace, His divine enablement is NOT sufficient for His perfect will to be manifested in your life?

God will Raise you up – when you lay it all down! (James 4:6-10)

Laboring Fervently for Christ’s Body [podcast]

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. 13  For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.” Colossians 4:12-13

One source notes:

“Epaphras’ prayer is a powerful New Testament model of intercession found in Colossians 4:12. As the founder of the church in Colossae, Epaphras is described by the Apostle Paul as “wrestling” or “laboring earnestly” in prayer so that his congregation would stand mature, firm, and fully assured in the will of God.”

Jesus Heals the Paralytic Man who was Dropped Down to Him from the Roof

Mark 2

“1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

2  And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

3  And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

4  And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

5  When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

6  But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

7  Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

8  And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

9  Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

10  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

11  I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

12  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.” Mark 2:1-12

Abiding Under the Shadow of the Almighty [podcast]

Lord, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart:  Jeremiah 15:15-16

Dwelling “in the secret place of the most High”

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalms 91:1-2

“In the secret place of the Most High – Spoken probably in reference to the Holy of holies. He who enters legitimately there shall be covered with the cloud of God’s glory – the protection of the all-sufficient God. This was the privilege of the high priest only, under the law: but under the new covenant all believers in Christ have boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus; and those who thus enter are safe from every evil.” Adam Clarke

“[Psalms] 91:1, 2 Jesus is the One who in a preeminent way dwelt in the secret place of the Most High, and abode under the shadow of the Almighty. There never was a life like His. He lived in absolute, unbroken fellowship with God, His Father. He never acted in self-will but did only those things that the Father directed. Though He was perfect God, He was also perfect Man, and He lived His life on earth in utter and complete dependence on God. Without equivocation He could look up and say, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
