“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

In ministry many times we get to thinking it’s OUR duty to EXPLAIN the Scriptures, the Word to people. Not. First and foremost our God-given duty is to teach and “preach the word” – thereby getting into the hearts of the people so GOD can teach them.

It would be better to simply read pure Scripture than to just be giving YOUR explanation or current understanding of the Scripture.

Yes, we as Christ’s disciples are to “give the sense” of the Word and yet, what is primary priority it getting the WORD itself into the hearts and minds of the people.

“So they (the elders) read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” Nehemiah 8:8
