Calvinists ask:
“Do we truly have free will if God has complete sovereignty?”
The answer is “YES because GOD sovereignly gave men the will to choose or to reject Him.”
The Calvinist heretic defines “complete sovereignty” as man having no free will to choose at all.
Jesus says:
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15-16
Did Apollos have free will?
“As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.” 1 Corinthians 16:12
Did the apostle Paul have free will?
“For if I do this thing WILLINGLY, I have a reward: but if against MY WILL, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.” 1 Corinthians 9:17
If we have no free will then why does God try to reason with us? Read Isaiah 1:16-20. Why is God longsuffering and patient with us if everything is causally predetermined by God already? See 2 Peter 3:9. Why would God clearly say He desires all men to repent, believe, and be saved if God gave man no ability to repent and believe? See Revelation 2:21-23. Why would Jesus marvel at some people’s lack of belief/faith in Mark 6:6 if Jesus already knew they were created with no ability to believe?
“Calvinism mandates the creation of puppets and robots. God Almighty wants to be genuinely loved and served out of a free will, not slave driven and forced to serve with resentment.” Stacy Strother
Romans 9 – The fact that God is to be glorified in salvation, not man, does nothing to negate the power to choose, the free will He sovereignly gives every man to choose or reject Him.
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” Deuteronomy 30:19
“There is so much to glean from Ps. 119.
Like when the Calvinist declare that God overrides their freewill. ⤵️
V. 109 My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law. Also, Job 13:14
And when the OSASers declare their doctrine of devils.⤵️
V. 33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
V. 112 I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.
Which brings to mind the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: ‘But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Matthew 24:13).” Jon Crane
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
Today, each of us is either choosing to yield our will to the Savior or to sin.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:16
Putting God first is always the best choice and it yields His blessings!
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
