Was there a Continental Divide after the Flood of Noah?

If all the land on the earth were put together, would it fit together like a puzzle?

A continental divide? Could be. Seems like it. Interesting.

“In his days was the earth divided”

When you look at the map of the world, you will see that virtually or most of the land mass, if put together, would fit like a puzzle. That would make the America’s to be connected to China/the east original, before the continental divide spoken of in Genesis 10:25. This is why the indigenous Indians look Asian. Interesting topic to explore.

“And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.” Genesis 10:25

“Peleg – From פלג palag, to divide, because in his days, which is supposed to be about one hundred years after the flood, the earth was divided among the sons of Noah. Though some are of opinion that a physical division, and not a political one, is what is intended here, viz., a separation of continents and islands from the main land; the earthy parts having been united into one great continent previously to the days of Peleg. This opinion appears to me the most likely, for what is said, Gen_10:5, is spoken by way of anticipation.” Adam Clarke

“By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.” Genesis 10:5

“[for in his days was the earth divided] This explains Peleg (H6389). In his days the earth was divided into continents and islands, after the various nations were scattered abroad on all the one land at the time of the divine judgment of Gen_11:1-9.” Dake

The water and the land (surf and turf) were originally separate – were originally one land mass, with one body of water.

“And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.” Genesis 1:9

“I simply looked at a wall map (instead of a globe) one day and thought,Hey — that can’t be a coincidence that the continents are shaped that way! Looks like they used to be connected.'” Debbie L.

Out of “one blood” created the whole human race and He also “hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;”

“And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;” Acts 17:26

One commentator notes the following about the above verse:

“Separation in Scripture
This verse says God made ‘all nations of men’ from ‘one blood’; it also speaks of ‘the bounds of their habitation.’ In spite of a common ancestry, from Adam first and later Noah, it was God’s will for man to scatter over the earth, to ‘be fruitful, and multiply’ (Gen_1:28; Gen_8:17; Gen_9:1). Man’s failure to obey caused God to confuse his language (Gen_11:1-9) and to physically separate the nations by dividing the earth into continents (Gen_10:25). Both physically and spiritually, separation has been a consistent theme for God’s people.”

While the topic of a Continental divide is interesting, it’s not essential. Knowing Jesus, being forgiven by Him of your sins, is essential to being eternally with Him and the Father and the saints of all ages. God is calling you to Himself – into a relationship, not a religion. Jesus says:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
