Fire and Brimstone?

“Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” Psalms 50:22

Being engulfed in flames, consciously tormented for all eternity, is the future of all who die outside of fellowship with our Maker who is the Judge of our eternal souls and sent ……………… (John 3:16).

“Fire and brimstone”? JUST WHO WHO WHO came up with the term “fire and brimstone preacher”? Who uses those words in disdainful anger and spite toward those messengers they are persecuting? Is it not those who have heard the Word of the Gospel, know inside they are heading for that place of “fire and brimstone,” and have the conviction of the Holy Ghost haunting them?

Never cease to preach sin and its ultimate consequence – eternal hell, then he lake of fire. Never cease from telling the truth, testifying of our LORD and His blessed salvation. If you do, you give place to Satan to keep those souls bound in sin and headed straight for hell. The truth of this horrible place of the eternal judgment of God upon all wicked souls, is exactly what turns men to Christ.

ANY person who is a true Christian, a true disciple of Jesus, preaches sin and hell and repentance (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23). This truth alone reveals that most leaders today are false as Jesus and His apostles often warned (Matthew 7:13-15; 24:4-5, 11, 24, etc.). Anyone who removes these essential components of Christ’s Gospel, is counterfeit. They are willingly misled and following a false gospel.

According to his sister, Steve Jobs last words “OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.” Sounds like Jobs was being introduced to the flames that will feed upon his conscious soul forever. The fires of eternal damnation await those who die outside of being born again into Jesus Christ. Nothing else will do. They await the eternally helpless and hopeless souls who choose to deny Christ His rightful place in their lives. No matter who you are or how religious you think you are or how “good” you think you are, you are in big trouble as a transgressor of the holy Law of your holy Maker and Judge.

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.” Psalms 9:17-18

Like it or not, the Almighty, by reason of being the one and only Creator, has the right to send souls to hell. He owns all souls and needs no mere man’s permission to do as He wills (Ezekiel 18:4). He did tell us that He is just, that man is fallen by sin, and then came to be our Salvation being that He is unwilling that any go to hell (Ezekiel 33:11; 2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 16:7).

God sure is love and He’s also “Holy, holy, holy” and therefore can have no friendship or connection with those who remain in a state of unholiness (Isaiah 6:3; Hebrews 12:14; Revelation 4:8). The LORD clearly told us that in the state of sin a soul dies, in that state and the place He made for those in that state shall that soul abide forever.

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11

Will God PUNISH the Wicked?

God will punish with everlasting fire all who refused to be saved and also all who were once saved and then backslid and died lukewarm or in sin.

YOU are going to hell unless you repent and receive Christ, giving your whole heart and being over to Him. Only you can make that choice.

“TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME” – Jesus warns all men through something that happened to two certain men:

The way the once “rich man” chose to spend his money while on earth clearly demonstrated, revealed where his heart truly was. When he died an went to hell, he was naked, had no money to his name and even if he did, he’d never be able to buy his way out of hell. He made his choice on earth by the way he lives. The same is true for each of us… we spend our money is a direct reflection of the priorities of our hearts.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

Want to see where your heart truly is in the eyes of the Judge of your eternal soul? – Just look at where you are choosing to put the money you temporarily have stewardship over in this life.

My Response:

I hope you are correct but the burden of proof is upon you to show where Jobs named the name of Jesus Christ, the name whereby we must be saved or we will go to hell (Acts 4:12). It’s a nice thought and yet very presumptive to think Jobs went to Heaven unless there is clear evidence that He repented and called upon the name of Jesus Christ. Having good thoughts about God is something all men have (Romans 1:19). That won’t save anyone as even “the devils also believe, and tremble.”

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” James 2:19

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Well, Jesus taught that most men go to hell and with Steve Jobs own sister repeating what Jobs said in his dying breath, it seems clear that he wasn’t calling upon the LORD Jesus but rather alarmed.

Modern Day Cult of Personality Exposed [podcast]

What is the Cult of Personality?

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

Beware when you see any mere man enshrined, basically worshipped by his followers. This is all too common in today’s church world and sometimes it’s very subtle. When people begin putting what a mere man says above what God says in His Word, when they quote him instead of the Bible, you know you have a cult.

“A cult of personality, or a cult of the leader, is the result of an effort to create an idealized and heroic image of an admirable leader, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.”‘

CS Lewis has a cult following today, 100%. I’ve encountered it first hand. These people don’t care what you show them as far as the blatant falsehoods he spoke, and have soul tied their affections to him and will defend him no matter what.

Lewis held a deeply sacramental and traditional view of Christianity, which aligned closely with Catholic theology:

The Sacraments: He regularly went to confession to a priest and viewed the Eucharist as central to the faith.

The Afterlife: He famously argued that “our souls demand Purgatory”, writing that we would naturally want to be cleansed of our sins before standing in God’s presence.

Devotion: He had a high view of saints and appreciated traditional liturgical practices.”

The same is true for modern day celebrities such as Candace Owens. On a recent live broadcast where she interviewed a man, he showed her live on air, that she was wrong about several things and kindly asked her to apologize several times. Regrettably, Candace was unwilling to apologize, and most of her cult followers backed her up, cheered her on.

She was called to account for false info and didn’t apologize when asked to.

Her followers cheered her on, never stopping to question things.

Their hearts are set on her not Christ (Colossians 3:1-4).

No matter WHAT she says, they believe it.

Wow.

Jesus says:

“I receive not honour from men. … 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” John 5:41, 44

By saying this, Jesus condemns putting trust in any mere man.

Jesus makes it clear here that anyone who puts their heart affections in a mere man or woman, is unable to believe on the LORD Jesus Christ for eternal life.

“And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. 7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:6-7

“4:6 He first explains that in speaking about the Christian ministry and the tendency to follow human leaders (3:5-4:5), he used himself and Apollos as the examples. The Corinthians were not forming parties around Paul and Apollos alone, but also around other men who were then in their church. However, out of a sense of Christian courtesy and delicacy, Paul transferred the entire matter to himself and Apollos so that by their example the saints would learn not to have exaggerated opinions of their leaders or to gratify their pride by the formation of parties. He wanted the saints to evaluate everything and everyone by the Scriptures.

“Sentence” here means verdict.
