Fire and Brimstone?

“Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” Psalms 50:22

Being engulfed in flames, consciously tormented for all eternity, is the future of all who die outside of fellowship with our Maker who is the Judge of our eternal souls and sent ……………… (John 3:16).

“Fire and brimstone”? JUST WHO WHO WHO came up with the term “fire and brimstone preacher”? Who uses those words in disdainful anger and spite toward those messengers they are persecuting? Is it not those who have heard the Word of the Gospel, know inside they are heading for that place of “fire and brimstone,” and have the conviction of the Holy Ghost haunting them?

Never cease to preach sin and its ultimate consequence – eternal hell, then he lake of fire. Never cease from telling the truth, testifying of our LORD and His blessed salvation. If you do, you give place to Satan to keep those souls bound in sin and headed straight for hell. The truth of this horrible place of the eternal judgment of God upon all wicked souls, is exactly what turns men to Christ.

“And of some have compassion, making a difference: ²³And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Jude 22-23

BUT, BUT, BUT, what if some deny this truth about hell? – “For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar.” (Romans 3:3-4)

ANY person who is a true Christian, a true disciple of Jesus, preaches sin and hell and repentance (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23). This truth alone reveals that most leaders today are false as Jesus and His apostles often warned (Matthew 7:13-15; 24:4-5, 11, 24, etc.). Anyone who removes these essential components of Christ’s Gospel, is counterfeit. They are willingly misled and following a false gospel.

“Whom we PREACH, WARNING every man, and TEACHING every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” Colossians 1:28

Where is Steve Jobs?

Steve Jobs founded Apple Computer. He gained the whole world if you will but seems to have lost his soul forever.

According to his sister, Steve Jobs last words “OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.” Sounds like Jobs was being introduced to the flames that will feed upon his conscious soul forever. The fires of eternal damnation await those who die outside of being born again into Jesus Christ. Nothing else will do. They await the eternally helpless and hopeless souls who choose to deny Christ His rightful place in their lives. No matter who you are or how religious you think you are or how “good” you think you are, you are in big trouble as a transgressor of the holy Law of your holy Maker and Judge.

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.” Psalms 9:17-18

Like it or not, the Almighty, by reason of being the one and only Creator, has the right to send souls to hell. He owns all souls and needs no mere man’s permission to do as He wills (Ezekiel 18:4). He did tell us that He is just, that man is fallen by sin, and then came to be our Salvation being that He is unwilling that any go to hell (Ezekiel 33:11; 2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 16:7).

God sure is love and He’s also “Holy, holy, holy” and therefore can have no friendship or connection with those who remain in a state of unholiness (Isaiah 6:3; Hebrews 12:14; Revelation 4:8). The LORD clearly told us that in the state of sin a soul dies, in that state and the place He made for those in that state shall that soul abide forever.

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11

Will God PUNISH the Wicked?

God will punish with everlasting fire all who refused to be saved and also all who were once saved and then backslid and died lukewarm or in sin.

“And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, ⁸In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: ⁹Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; ¹⁰When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10

YOU are going to hell unless you repent and receive Christ, giving your whole heart and being over to Him. Only you can make that choice.

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15

WHY IS YOUR CREATOR AND JUDGE GOING TO SEND YOU TO THIS LAKE OF FIRE NEVER TO HAVE A SECOND CHANCE TO ESCAPE? IT’S SIMPLE: HE IS “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY” AND YOU ARE A SINNER. “TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME” – Jesus warns all men through something that happened to two certain men:

“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” Luke 16:19-31

The way the once “rich man” chose to spend his money while on earth clearly demonstrated, revealed where his heart truly was. When he died an went to hell, he was naked, had no money to his name and even if he did, he’d never be able to buy his way out of hell. He made his choice on earth by the way he lives. The same is true for each of us… we spend our money is a direct reflection of the priorities of our hearts.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

Want to see where your heart truly is in the eyes of the Judge of your eternal soul? – Just look at where you are choosing to put the money you temporarily have stewardship over in this life.

If you are back-slidden, you are going to this same lake of fire and it’s going to be worse off for you than if you had never been saved (2 Peter 2:20-22). It’s time to repent.

Praying he stepped into the glories of Christ. I think your being far to presumptive here. The truth is we don’t know.

My Response:

I hope you are correct but the burden of proof is upon you to show where Jobs named the name of Jesus Christ, the name whereby we must be saved or we will go to hell (Acts 4:12). It’s a nice thought and yet very presumptive to think Jobs went to Heaven unless there is clear evidence that He repented and called upon the name of Jesus Christ. Having good thoughts about God is something all men have (Romans 1:19). That won’t save anyone as even “the devils also believe, and tremble.”

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” James 2:19

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Well, Jesus taught that most men go to hell and with Steve Jobs own sister repeating what Jobs said in his dying breath, it seems clear that he wasn’t calling upon the LORD Jesus but rather alarmed.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

Being that Christ taught that most men will reject Him and go to hell, I lean in the direction Jesus pointed.

5 Soul Damning Sins Named! Learning from History! [podcast]

THE 5 SINS THAT KEPT ISRAEL (God’s own covenant people) OUT OF THEIR PROMISED LAND OF BLESSINGS and will keep us out if not relinquished. Friend, please read 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 with all your might. Make this text your meat.

The world seeks to romance sin but if God says it’s sin, that’s what it is. Toning down the terms changes nothing. Judgment Day is on the way.

We are fighting the good fight of faith, “striving against sin” and “more than conquerors” over sin through Jesus who loves us and bought us with His own blood! (1 Timothy 6:12; Hebrews 12:4; 13:12; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:37)

There are the 5 sins listed here that kept God’s people out of His blessings. We all need to L.I.F.T.M. up to the LORD in repentance and for His perfect forgiveness and cleansing. God the Holy Spirit warns us here through Paul’s pen (1 Cor. 10:1-13), that Israel and these sins are “examples” (vv. 6, 11) to all NT believers. God destroys those who go back on Him after knowing Him (transgressors – Ps. 68:21; 73:28; 125:5, etc.). If not ridden out of our lives, any one of these 5 sins WILL keep us out of our promised land. God is holy (Heb. 12:14). As taken in order from 1 Cor. 10:6-10, here are those 5 sins:

Lust
Idolatry
Fornication
Tempting Christ
Murmuring

This simple acronym should help us to remember these sins and remain separate from them as we grow today to know and love our Savior more fervently. “Keep thyself pure” (1 Timothy 5:22).

Committing the sin is one thing (1 John 1:8-10, right) and refusing to repent of it is yet another. Refusing to acknowledge, repent, confess, and cease is what snares the soul and ousts us from Christ (Proverbs 28:13).

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

If the Holy Spirit has quickened any offences of your heart, simply L.I.F.T.M. up to Christ the Redeemer, Forgiver, Cleanser, and Transformer of lives.

WHATEVER it takes – those who choose to get real with God will sever themselves from anything and anyone who causes them to sin. This is what Jesus says about sin and hell:

“And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.” Mark 9:43-50

NOTICE: When a believer or group of believers backslides, they no longer separate from the transgressors who are unrepentant:

1 Corinthians 10 completely destroys the OSAS / eternal security argument.

Notice the word “OUR” in verses 6 and 11. This is directly spoken to warn NEW Testament saints that they are going to hell if they live and die in sin.

Eternal security is a false teaching. 1 sin separated Adam and Eve from God and “The wages of sin is (still) death” because God is Holy (Rom 6:23, etc.). Moral coward counterfeits hate, despise the Gospel essential of the cross, the crucified life. They want Jesus to save them to Heaven but not from sin. These are the sin-justifying, grace-perverting “ungodly men” Jude warned us about (Jude 4).

The divine declaration that “The wages of sin is death” which means separation from God, appears throughout Scripture (Romans 6:23).

“He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.” Proverbs 19:16

Die or death always means separation.

OSAS/eternal security is a lie from hell. OSAS was Satan’s first lie and so it’s blasphemy to teach this doctrine of devils and claim it’s part of the Gospel. You are attributing Satan’s lie to the LORD Jesus. Repent now sinner. See Genesis 2:17; 3:4; Romans 11:20-22; 1 Timothy 4:1; Hebrews 3:6, 12-14; 10:26-39; 2 Peter 2:20-21; Jude 4, etc..

The concept of an un-conditional eternal security is not established in Scripture … Except for it being Satan’s first teaching, His first lie – the “Ye shall NOT surely die” lie (Genesis 2:17; 3:4).
