Thou Shalt Not Curse the Ruler of thy People [podcast]
“God’s people shouldn’t bring GOD’S WORD into politics!” ~SATAN
Note: This post does not intend to over involve born again believers in politics. Yet God has spoken of His will for us to pray for those in authority. To be heavenly minded is to obey and not question God.
WE NEED a revival of honoring God by honoring that which HE ordained…. Here are the 3 things God ordained, instituted for society:
- The family (Genesis 2:24)
- The true Church (people of God – not religion)
- Civil government! (Romans 13; 1 Timothy 2:1-3; 1 Peter 2:17)
Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, we ask You to please lead Your people in true repentance and to bear the fruit of Your holiness (2 Chronicles 7:14). We pray for our leaders, for this country to fulfill Your will, and for You to let YOUR enemies, who murder YOUR innocent babies and do all evil under the sun, to receive Your reward according to their works, in Jesus’ Name (1 Tim 2:1-6; 2 Tim 4:14-16).
Summation of 1 Timothy 2:1-6: Praying for our leaders is for God’s stated will – that we live quiet and peaceable lives making known the one Mediator between God and man – Jesus Christ.
BITTER BALKERS! I wonder what would happen in their own hearts, if those self-righteous wolves who spend all their time judging our leaders would begin spending the same time and energy praying for them – YOU KNOW, LIKE THE LORD COMMANDED THEM TO DO (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
The fact that you think you have all this figured out in no way negates the command of God to you to pray for all who are in authority. Repent now sinner.
You just wouldn’t believe the “Christians” who give no thanks to God for their country’s leaders, do not pray for them, and viciously attack them and anyone who prays for them.
SO, GOD Himself ordained civil government but you balk at it and attack those in authority instead of obeying Him by praying for them? The reason you find fault with the sinners (most of them) in civil authority is because you aren’t praying for them as God instructed you to do – and yet you come off as a spiritually superior disciple. Delusional. Repent now. 1 Timothy 2:1-3; Romans 13
Does the Bible command us to honor our parents? Yes or no? YES! Did it say your parents have to be perfect for you to honor them? NO.
Does God’s Word say “Honor your parents, only IF they are sinless perfection”? NO!
Are you getting the point? Now…..
Does the Bible say to pray for and thank God for those in leadership in government? Yes (1 Timothy 2:1-3). Does the Bible say “pray for them only if they are saved, have a perfect past, and sinless”? No!
It’s time to grow up and obey God according to His Word.
Voting for the candidate more closely aligned with biblical standards in no way means someone is worshiping the person they voted for. Delusional.
“Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.” Ecclesiastes 10:20
I WILL NOT JOIN YOU IF YOU CHOOSE TO SLANDER THE PRESIDENT GOD INSTRUCTED US TO THANK HIM FOR AND PRAY FOR AND HERE’S WHY…
FACT: In the days of God’s servant Nehemiah, Artaxerxes was the secular, pagan, ungodly king of BABYLON whom God used to get HIS work done.
FACT: God’s prophet Daniel served king Nebuchadnezzar, a secular king. Daniel recognized the role a pagan (UNSAVED) king played in God’s unfolding drama. The church’s ability to work with those in authority is completely biblical.
Should we not let God be God? Should we not simply be humbly about our Father’s business and leave the fulfillment of prophecy to HIM?
One writer notes: “The Luciferians, want to take away our freedom and make government everybody’s god. Our God is a God of freedom. Not a god of government control.”
If you are preoccupied finding fault with current, unsaved government authorities, instead of obeying God by simply praying for them and thanking God for them, that is sad and reveals deep immaturity (1 Timothy 2:1-3). Also, when people have all this time to slander who God put into office, does this not reveal that they are not consumed with Christ and His work? Did He not give us a Great Commission command for which we shall give account to Him?
“For it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.” Acts 23:5
IF you are truly God-fearing, you will obey THE LORD and pray for those HE has put in authority and not spend your time foolishly finding fault with them! Beware of the novices who condemn authorities instead of obeying GOD by praying for them (1 Timothy 2:1-3). GOD instituted civil government and so if you have a problem with it, you are out of line with GOD (Romans 13).
We live in a fallen world which necessitates civil government in order to punish evil doers (people who commit crimes against others).
Are you spreading lies about our authorities instead of praying for them as God instructed? (1 Timothy 2:1-3)
“Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.” Exodus 22:28
You know, Christians don’t have to love or even like whoever their President is, yet, they should not be speaking lies about him, bringing up his past sins or supposed sins… to do so is sin itself. Do you want your past sins brought up? (Matthew 7:1-5)
The Bible reveals to us exactly what kind of person digs up sins of the past:
“An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.” Proverbs 16:27
After all, if we are so godly, do we not realize that GOD put authorities in place for HIS own purposes?
God’s message is to pray for the leaders of our country (Timothy 2:1-3; Jeremiah 29:7, etc.). But they would rather judge them. All they have to do to see the vilest of sinners who is in the greatest need of divine mercy, is to look in the mirror (Matthew 7:1-5; James 2:13). Repent.
It is totally self-righteous to judge a mere man. ALLLL have sinned and so if he can’t be forgiven, neither will God forgive those who judge him ( Matthew 7:1-5; James 2:13).
Robert Hammond writes: “My wife said something interesting the other night when we were driving to dinner: ‘If I need someone to come and clean out my septic tank, I’m not really gonna care what kind of a man he is. I just need to know that he cleans out septic tanks, a job that no one else wants to take on.’ That about sums it up. Someone said a few years ago that if they were dying in their house because it was on fire and they heard the firemen cursing or saying derogatory statements while they were looking for her, she could care less. Her tax dollars are going towards these men saving lives. Who cares how gruff or rough they are. Their job is to save lives and put fires out.”
SO let me get THIS straight… it’s okay for you to hate the President but not okay if others choose to like him and pray for him as Scripture instructs us to do? Wow!
So, if you are preaching that America will be judged and so the church needs to repent, HAVE YOU REPENTED? If you truly repent you will obey God by praying for the President and all in authority and you will cease condemning, judging, and attacking him (1 Timothy 2:1-3; Acts 23:5).
Now, repent for real and keep from arrogant, self-righteous rebellion.
One disciple writes:
“All rulers, authorities, principalities, powers and ‘powers that be’ are working their good vs evil (the tree of . . ) program until Christ returns and puts these ‘enemies’ down ( 1 Cor 15:24-28). God tells us to respect them even though their titles do not mean they have the life and love of God in them. Just as God told Michael not to bring a railing accusation against Satan in Jude, and Jesus said to render unto Caesar what was Caesar’s and to render unto God what is God’s. Caesar was not a nice guy but they (and we) were still to respect him. These powers are ‘ministers of God’ kind of like Satan is under the principle of redemptive withdrawal.
“Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when HE SHALL HAVE PUT DOWN ALL RULE AMD AUTHORITY AND POWER. For He must reign, till He hath PUT ALL ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET. The last enemy that shall be destroyed (As in Heb 2:14) is death.” (Death is an enemy of God. God does not kill people. He does not use the same tools as His enemies. The power of death belongs only to the one who came to steal, kill and destroy.)
These rulers and authorities killed Jesus and have incarcerated many a righteous soul unjustly. Thru the cross we are able to be rescued from their power and enslavement.”
YOU are no hero or genius to see evil. It’s everywhere. What are you doing to bring God’s solution? That’s what Jesus came to do and that’s what He sent His people to do (Luke 4:18; Matthew 28:18-20, etc.).
We live in a fallen world and the LORD has His stated purpose for civil government. Have you read Romans 13? Do you understand it?
GOD didn’t need any puny mere man’s opinion when He chose to ordain secular, civil rulers (Rom. 13) to maintain law and order and punish evil doer … “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life” … God alone is all wise….
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 or kings, and for all that are in authority; THAT WE MAY LEAD A QUIET AND PEACEABLE LIFE in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;” 1 Timothy 2:1-3
Submission to Civil Authorities
1 Timothy 2:1-3 Commentary
There are those among us who are rebellious against all authority. Always ask them point blank if they are obeying God by praying for all those in authority like He commanded us to do (1 Timothy 2:1-3). They don’t like this question because it reveals, it manifests their lawlessness, their iniquity.
“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and DESPISE GOVERNMENT. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to SPEAK EVIL OF DIGNITIES.” 2 Peter 2:10
“Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, DESPISE DOMINION (authority), and SPEAK EVIL OF DIGNITIES.” Jude 8
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God (GOD ordained civil gov’t.): the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers (civil, gov’t.) are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.” Romans 13:1-7
If the government/civil authorities aren’t important, please explain Romans 13 OR better yet repent and pray and thank God for the leaders we have (1 Timothy 2:1-3; Jeremiah 29:7; Romans 13). WHY NOT DO YOUR JOB? First by prayer and then simple action.
“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” Jeremiah 29:7
Unless you are thanking God for your leaders and praying for them, you have no business judging them.
“And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.” Revelation 16:7
God is just and will judge all nations.
God told us repeatedly that He is going to judge every nation, not just America. HE commanded us, His people, to specifically pray for the leaders of this NATION and not to condemn them.
“And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people…” Isaiah 2:4
Didn’t Jesus tell us He’s going to judge the nations and divide between the goat and good nations who did Israel, His people, good? See Matthew 25.
The fact that judgment is coming, on EVERY nation, in no way negates that God called His people to pray for our leaders, amen? (1 Timothy 2:1-3) Are you obeying God by praying for your leaders?
There are some vile hypocrites who are misleading believers. This country has one hope – Christ – and that will involve His people praying, repenting, and obeying Him and taking our place in every realm. God would never lead anyone to vote for the barbaric, ruthless cold blooded murders of innocent babies.
