“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7
This will be one of the most profound truth components in your life with Jesus Christ.
When you pray His Word, you are praying His will.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105
Father in Jesus’ name, we thank You for working in Your people today – “both to WILL and to DO” of Your “good pleasure.”
“… Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13
“We need to pray the Bible! My prayer and cry many mornings is Psalm 84:2. ‘My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.’ I long for the LORD my God to take anything out of me that is not pleasing to Him and fill me with more of the living God. No minister can remove anything from anyone. Only God can change us from the inside out!” Karen Cochran
PRAYING God’s Word is what seems to really personalize it, to set it in motion in our daily lives. When we pray God’s Word, we pray God’s will – His perfect, stated will. When we pray God’s Word we are honoring Him. He gave that Word. God’s Word is God’s will and the will of God is the Word of God (Psalms 119:105).
“Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.” Psalms 119:76
Example of Praying God’s Word/Will
“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.” Luke 23:46
Have you prayed this lately?
Try it.
“And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.” Luke 23:46
Let this prayer roll out of your heart and off of your lips in the morning….
“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.”
You’ll never be the same again.
Another example of praying God’s Word, His stated will:
Jesus instructs His people not to worry about the future – tomorrow.
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34
PRAYING God’s Word in the name of Jesus Christ unleashes the infinite power of our Almighty God! You are asking in the name of Jesus!
Praying God’s Word puts it into motion in our lives (John 15:7; 17:1-26). Praying His Word is praying His stated will, the very “thoughts of his heart” (Psalms 33:11).
Praying His Word to Him, is asking the LORD to bring it to pass in your life and in the lives you are lifting in prayer to Him, instilling, incorporating it into your/their heart and daily life. Read Psalm 119.
The Prayer Warrior Deception
Personally, I don’t see myself or any believer as a “prayer warrior” because such a term, or wording appear no where in God’s Word. We are HIS disciples, humble and dependent upon Him, as we simply pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, just as He instructed (John 14:13-14; 16:23-24). What to know about prayer, praying successfully. See the Prayer category.
Karen Cochran shares the following:
“More Bible Verses on Walking in and Praying God’s Word
‘This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.’ Joshua 1:8
This verse instructs us to pray God’s word “day and night.” It encourages us to soak in the Word of God and let it become part of us. We need to apply, meditate upon, pray it and hide it in our hearts.”
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119: 105
God’s Word will guide us through the darkness of this fallen world and be the light of truth.
Why Pray the Scriptures?
1) To know the promises of God, we should pray to have these promises manifest in our lives. We need to declare them in prayer and ask God to bring them to fulfillment.
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:4
“For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
2) Praying Scriptures teaches us how to pray.
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which can not be uttered.” Romans 8:26
“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of the disciples said unto Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2 And He said, unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.” Luke 11:1-4
The disciples asked Jesus how to pray. Jesus used this model of prayer to teach them.
3) Praying Scriptures helps keep us grounded in the truth.
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17
“Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of the righteous judgements endureth ever.” Psalm 119:160
4) Praying scriptures will help us learn God’s word.
“But His delight is in the Law of the Lord; and in His law doth He meditate day and night.” Psalm 1:2
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8
5) When we pray Scriptures we allow God’s Word to minister to our hearts.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16
6) Praying Scriptures will help us know and walk in God’s will.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8
7) Praying Scriptures helps us to be sanctified and holy in His righteousness.
“The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the Commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.” Deuteronomy 28:9
“I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” Leviticus 11:44
8) Praying Scriptures will renew our minds with the word of God.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
9) Want more faith? Pray the Scriptures.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
10) Keep the enemy away by praying the Scriptures.
Jesus was tempted of the devil three times in the wilderness. He defeated him with the word of God.
“3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.” Matthew 4:3-11
11) Pray the Scriptures to be blessed.
“But he said, Yea rather, be blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” Luke 11:28
12) Pray the Scriptures to overcome sin.
“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law but under grace? God forbid.” Romans 6:15
The righteousness given to us is a free gift. We should be becoming more like Jesus and should serve righteousness not sin. And we should not use grace as an excuse to sin.
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:6
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9
No one born of God can continue to sin, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot go on sinning.
YOUR PRAYER: Holy Father, please teach me Your ways which are all in the exceeding great and precious promises of Your Word. May Your Word be sealed in my heart and please unite my heart to fear Thy name. In the name of Jesus, amen.

“He Appeared to put away sin by the Sacrifice of Himself” [podcast]
Why did Jesus come?
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he
said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave
up the ghost.” John 19:30
This revelation in the above words of the Messiah— “It is
finished”—is consistent with the whole divine unveiling of
Holy Scripture—the redemption of mankind after the fall.
Jesus came to do something and that’s why while dying on
the cross for the sins of the world, He declared “It is
finished” (John 19:30). These are the three most powerful
words ever spoken! What exactly was “finished”?
“For then must he often have suffered since the
foundation of the world: but now once in the end of
the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the
sacrifice of himself.” Hebrews 9:26
Jesus declared mercy and forgiveness over mankind while
He was dying to provide redemption on that cross: “It is
finished” (John 19:30). This simply means “paid in full.” The
price for sin has been fully paid. The claims of the Father’s
justice were perfectly satisfied, paid in full by the precious,
sinless blood of the Son of God. All men are now invited to
come to Him, repent and believe upon the LORD Jesus Christ
for redemption—mercy and forgiveness (Colossians 1:14).
On that cross, the LORD Jesus declared: “It is finished” and
“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”
(John 19:30; Luke 23:34).
Prayer: Father I rejoice in the precious blood of Jesus shed for
my sin—to bring me to You for an eternal relationship.

8 Classes of Sinners Guaranteed to Spend Eternity in the Lake of Fire [podcast]
8 Classes of Sinners Guaranteed to Spend Eternity in Hell
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
“The second death”
[which is the second death] The second death is the lake of fire, or the second separation from God in hell (Rev_2:11; Rev_20:14; Rev_21:8).
Of Revelation 21:8, Adam Clarke writes the following:
Revelation 21:8
But the fearful – Δειλοις· Those who, for fear of losing life or their property, either refused to receive the Christian religion, though convinced of its truth and importance; or, having received it, in times of persecution fell away, not being willing to risk their lives.
And unbelieving – Those who resist against full evidence. And sinners, και ἁμαρτωλοις, is added here by about thirty excellent MSS., and is found in the Syrian, Arabic, some of the Slavonic, and in Andreas and Arethas. On this evidence Griesbach has admitted it into the text.
The abominable – Εβδελυγμενοις· Those who are polluted with unnatural lust. (sodomites, lesbians Romans 1)
And murderers – Φονευσι· Those who take away the life of man for any cause but the murder of another, and those who hate a brother in their heart (.
And whoremongers – Πορνοις· Adulterers, fornicators, whores, prostitutes, and rakes of every description.
Sorcerers – Φαρμακοις· Persons who, by drugs, philtres, fumigations, etc., pretend to produce supernatural effects, chiefly by spiritual agency.
Idolaters – Ειδωλολατραις· Those who offer any kind of worship or religious reverence to any thing but God. All image worshippers are idolaters in every sense of the word.
And all liars – Και πασι τοις ψευδεσι· Every one who speaks contrary to the truth when he knows the truth, and even he who speaks the truth with the intention to deceive; i.e., to persuade a person that a thing is different from what it really is, by telling only a part of the truth, or suppressing some circumstance which would have led the hearer to a different end to the true conclusion. All these shall have their portion, το μερος, their share, what belongs to them, their right, in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. This is the second death, from which there is no recovery.
“21:8 But not all are overcomers. Some are cowardly, afraid to confess Christ; unbelieving, unwilling to trust the sinner’s Savior; sinners, all those who remain in their sins, whether guilty of the gross iniquities listed here or not; abominable, given over to disgusting immorality; murderers, malicious and savage killers; sexually immoral, practicing fornication and other forms of sexual sins; sorcerers, those who traffic with evil spirits; idolaters, insulting God by worshiping images; and all liars, compulsive deceivers. These will be assigned to the lake of fire as their final destiny.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. … 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:10, 14-15
One source notes the following:
“Brimstone and fire” refers to the fiery imagery of divine judgment and eternal punishment found in the Bible. It symbolizes God’s wrath, often describing the fate of sinners in hell, and is a phrase used in religious sermons and literature. “Brimstone,” an old word for sulfur, is a key component of this imagery, evoking a smell and heat associated with inescapable, fiery destruction.
Biblical origins
Old Testament:
The phrase originates in the King James translation of the Old Testament, used to describe God’s destruction of enemies. A key example is the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
New Testament:
The imagery is used to describe eternal damnation, a common theme in both the Old and New Testaments. In the book of Revelation, for example, it describes those who worship the beast being tormented in a lake of fire and brimstone.
Etymology:
The phrase is a calque of the Biblical Hebrew and Ancient Greek words for “sulfur and fire”.
Geological evidence:
Archaeological and geological evidence of sulfur deposits and charred formations in areas like the Dead Sea region have been noted as consistent with biblical descriptions of fire and sulfur-related events.”
“But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:12

Overcoming Temptation [podcast]
The only way to come out on top of temptation, of successfully putting it under foot, is via the crucified life.
“For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Romans 6:7
Reading Romans 6 each morning, prayerfully, will guarantee the resurrection life and power of Christ reigning in your life.
“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Proverbs 24:16
What leads up to actually committing a sin?
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:13-15
FFK = Fight. Finish. Keep.
“The time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8
As an ambassador for Christ, Paul was nearing the end of his mission on earth and said he had “fought,” “finished” and “kept.”
IF YOU DON’T FIGHT YOU WILL FALL, YOU WILL FAIL! With God, failure is never final unless you don’t get back up.
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
Memory truth.
“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.” 1 Chronicles 16:11
Repenting afresh.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
You must choose daily to “FIGHT the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:12).
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for theprize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Jude 1:20
Prayer: LORD, imbue in my innermost being the resolve to know You, to walk with You, to love You supremely as the first loveof my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
