Love Mercy [podcast]
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:8
We should never lose sight of the fact that the very same precious blood that was shed for our sins (undeservingly) was also shed for the sins of any and all we may be tempted to condemn. They also can be forgiven even as God has so mercifully forgiven us. With this in mind, may God bless each of us to “Love mercy.” (Micah 6:8)
Growing up in Louisiana, you’d often hear people say, as an expression, “Mercy, mercy, mercy!” Amen. We all need it!
“For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” James 2:13
MERCY: Dish it out in healthy portions if you want it coming back on you!
EVERY person who dies in un-forgiveness is going to hell irrevocably (Matthew 18:21-35; Mark 11:25-26).
CAN WE truly say that we understand Christ and His bless-ed Gospel if we still don’t have a disposition that is loving, merciful, and forgiving? Memorize Ephesians 4:32 now.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25-26
If you don’t believe in forgiving all others, God doesn’t believe in and will not forgive you.
THE SINS THAT SHOULD CONCERN US MOST ARE OUR OWN SINS! why then do we wrongly judge others in our attitudes when the one who needs Jesus most is us? To his friends who wrongly judged him, Job said: “But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?” (Job 19:28)
“One glimpse at the glory and holiness of God would cause us all to fall down on our faces in utter horror at our vile, wretched, sinful and selves. And cry out as Isaiah did, ‘Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.'” Isaiah 6:5″ Karen Cochran
Sin should be judged, beginning with ourselves (1 Corinthians 11:31-32).
A sure way to bring judgment on ourselves is to judge another while we have sin in our own life (Matthew 7:1-5; James 2:13). Repent now.
This is exactly what Jesus taught (Matthew 7:1-5).
“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.” Luke 6:36
The reason we don’t freely forgive others is because we don’t yet realize just how wicked and depraved we ourselves are and how utterly in need we are of divine mercy.

Prayerfully declaring this truth aloud this morning will help defuse that fleshly self-righteousness that is part of the fallen nature – and posture us to invite sinners to the Savior.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:5-7
How mercy works in the divine economy …. Memorize and live Matthew 5:7; Ephesians 4:32.
Jesus told us that the devil is a liar and the accuser of HIS brethren who are our brethren (John 8:44; Revelation 12:10).
NO MATTER how hurt or mad you may currently be with someone, remember, Jesus died to save that person and is not willing that such a person perish (Luke 9:56; John 3:17; 2 Peter 3:9).
Saints, may God bless us today to pour out His mercy – even as WE are is such desperate need of divine mercy ourselves (Genesis 32:10; Titus 3:5-6). Back up the dump truck and unload it!!!!
TODAY, let us be sobered and thankful to our God for finding and saving our wretched souls! Jesus Christ died, was buried, and raised again from the dead to redeem and forgive us! All we have without the perfection of Christ is our own righteousness which is as “filthy rags” in the eyes of a holy God (Isaiah 6:3). When we are truly broken, and brought to the understanding of just how infinitely blessed we are that God has been so merciful to us on behalf of Christ, we will then be filled with His joy, the joy of His salvation, and desire to pour that same blessing on others! “Freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8) God’s Mercy!
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23
Notice that the prophet Jeremiah could have hope, knowing that God is merciful. Wow. Read that passage again above.
