FEARING GOD IS A DIVINE COMMAND

“Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long.” Proverbs 23:17

“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.” Romans 11:22

Crux: Sinful men do not wish to fear God because they simply don’t want to believe that if they cross Him, if they do things their own way instead of His, He’s going to judge them like He did Lucifer, Adam and Eve, and Israel, and many others (Jude).

The kingdom of God is about KING Jesus primarily, not us …. we’re just blessed that He included us (Ephesians 1:10; 2:7).

BEWARE OF THE MANY WOLVES IN THE PULPITS WHO REFUSE TO PREACH THIS BIBLICAL TRUTH

God commands us to fear Him, period. All the compromising cowards who seek to reduce fearing God down to reverencing Him or respecting the Almighty are hereby commanded, on the authority of Holy Scripture to repent and ask His forgiveness for lying and misleading others with this lie… you are openly rebuked now (2 Timothy 4:2-4).

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

So many want to reduce the doctrine and divine command of fearing God to mere reverence, respect. Not so. God commands us to FEAR HIM.

“Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” Psalms 2:11-12

“Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” Psalms 50:22

“Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.” Joshua 24:14

“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?” Luke 12:5-6

Those who fear God obey God. Those who do not obey God simply do not fear Him.

Do I have the fear of the LORD? Do I truly fear Him if I am not departing from sin which brings death? No. Read this verse closely and memorize it.

“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” Proverbs 14:27

Romans 11:20-22 commanded – if you had a big strong dad who was a good dad, you feared him if you did wrong, and you felt safe because he was strong. You feared the consequences of crossing your earthly daddy. The same is true for God..

“Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” 2 Peter 3:17

“O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” Psalms 96:9

The remnant body of Christ is pressing in to the LORD with reckless abandonment, forsaking their lives in this fleeting world that they might gain them eternally with Christ.
