Contrary to Popular Opinion, God Doesn’t Need You or Me

The LORD Almighty, is the only self-existent Being. He’s not dependent upon anyone. ALL others are dependent upon He who made and sustains all life, and life forms (Colossians 1:15-17). We need Him. He does not need us.

Any person who foolishly separates Jesus from what He stated in His Word, including His commandments, His instructions to us, is casting away the mercy God wishes to show him.

The true follower of Jesus upholds the words of God as the highest authority to be obeyed. Such a man declares with the psalmist:

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105

Repentance is Essential

The first command of the Gospel is the “repent” (Matthew 3:2; 4:17; Acts 2:38; 3:19, etc.).

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3

True repentance will always bring forth good fruit.

“EVERY TREE which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 3:10

Any questions?

—- WHY is hell so full of souls who were once saved? Why did Jesus say that some would believe and then “fall away”? See Luke 8:13. Jesus told us – “And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection” (Luke 8:14).

What keeps people out of Heaven and puts them in the eternal incarceration of hell? What did Jesus say they counted more important than Him?:

  • “cares … of this life”
  • “riches … of this life”
  • “pleasures of this life”

What’s the result? – They “bring no fruit to perfection.” Is fruit important to God? Without it, no one will be in Heaven. Does fruit save? No, yet it’s always the product (that which is produced) out of a saving, abiding relationship with Christ. Read John 15:1-16.

Who Will You Call the Liar?

1) Christ, or

2) The “accursed” deceiver whom you have allowed to teach you “another gospel”? Read Galatians 1:6-9.

Did Jesus mean what He plainly stated? Will you call the Son of God a liar in order to continue to believe the fairytale lie you’ve been taught by false teachers who are turning the grace of God into “lasciviousness” (license for sin)? Read Jude 3-4.

Good Fruit is Always the Result of Truly Repenting

Truly repenting, fully surrendering, brings relationship and good fruit to God’s glory. Anything short of true repentance and the associated good fruit will not enter eternal glory.

“Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 3:8-10

THOSE who truly have repented have good fruit and good works in their lives, and this has nothing to do with church attendance which is a lame excuse for good fruit and good works. Serving Christ’s body daily and getting someone saved is more like the good works God is looking for (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Luke 19:10; Acts 5:43; 8:4; Proverbs 11:30, etc.).  Cleaning a bathroom or singing in a choir in a church building that God never intended be built is not good works in His eyes. Who are we kidding except our own deceived hearts? Serving a false pastor (hireling) who has no heart for lost souls, does not preach only God’s Word under the anointing of the Spirit and in the holy fear of God, is not serving God. Instead, it’s rebellion, bidding Godspeed to Christ’s enemy, and a complete waste (2 Chronicles 19:2; 2 John 7-11).

You see, something else – an idol – is more important to many than Jesus Christ. This is exactly why Jesus foretold that “many” would go to hell and only a “few” to Heaven.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

They do not hate their lives in this fleeting, sinful world. Against the command of Christ they love self. The OSAS (once saved always saved) moral coward wants no part of losing the euphoric feeling of “security” and therefore wants no part of any notion of personal responsibility. He wants to believe he is free to live any way he so wishes. So, he/she will reject this message to his/her own destruction. Just as it led to Adam and Eve’s fall, so shall it lead to their fall. This message of laying down one’s life and forsaking all is Christ’s message – you know, the One they claim saved them. Jesus says: “If ANY man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple … So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:26-27, 33).

The initial moment when you repented is only the beginning of your walk with Christ. You must “abide” (remain) in Christ (John 15:1-6), you must continue in His Word (John 8:31-32), to count Him more important than self (Luke 14:26-27), to forsake all (Luke 14:33), to love His truth supremely (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12), to seek His face in holy prayer communion daily (Matthew 6:6), to deny self, to take up your cross, and to follow Him (Luke 9:23-24). This would mean that you love Him more than sinful self.

Don’t like this message? Move on then. God doesn’t need you – You need the LORD. It’s your choice to join the millions whom Christ once saved who bought the OSAS lie and so then allowed other things to be more important than Him. Adam and Eve bought this same lie and God kicked them out of His holy presence as a result (Genesis 2:17; 3:4; 23-24).

Unconditional eternal security is a myth – a lie from the enemy of all souls designed to deceive and bring eternal damnation (Genesis 2:17; 3:4; John 10:10). If you believe such an unbiblical fairytale, then you have colluded with the enemy of Jesus Christ and yet you claim to be serving Jesus Christ?

“They that observe” such a “lying vanity” will pay with their own conscious eternal body. They forsake God’s mercy and will suffer the vengeance of eternal fire for refusing Christ – the only Salvation.

“They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.” Jonah 2:8

By not taking God at HIS Word, you defy Him and are His very enemy. He takes this personally. Those who refuse to hear and heed the words of God are “not of God” (John 8:47).

If you want to know Him and to be with Him eternally, listen closely and prayerfully to what He said. He gave you His Word in tangible format. There is no excuse. Anyone who foolishly divorces Christ from His very words, is tying a rope around their own neck.

“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38

Today you may be angry with the messenger of this divine truth and yet if you do not obey God, you will be for eternity angry with yourself and with those who lied to you. Eternal remorse will ensue all those who do not take cover under Christ’s wing by truly repenting and laying down their lives.

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.” Hebrews 3:12-14

Let us ever remember our great need to be in intimate relationship with our great Maker and how much He loves us.

“God is holy, eternal, almighty, and totally self-sufficient. He does not need any created being, but we do need Him. All of creation is dependent on the life that God alone sustains.” Unknown

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” Lamentations 3:22-26

Prayer of Repentance: Father I have played the game. I am finished with a mere form of godliness and ready to get real with You. I am ready to do business with you, now. Right this moment, if never before, I lay my life in Thy holy hands. I turn to You LORD Jesus, asking You to increase as I here and now choose to decrease. Into Your hands I commend, release, and submit my spirit and my whole being. Please make me to be Your authentic disciple. Strip all falsity and bless this vessel to be completely honest before You and man. I love You LORD Jesus. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and use me for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Putting God First [podcast]

If God’s Word isn’t important to you, it’s because He isn’t important to you.

If anything comes before the LORD in your day, you are an idolater.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3

GOD’s WORD cannot get into you if you aren’t into it.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Jesus commanded:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6:33

As you seek God, putting Him first, you are not going to be able to prevent, to stop His blessings coming upon your life. 100%

Memorize this promise from your Savior, today.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

What putting Christ first looks like:

Prayer.

“Early will I seek thee.” Psalms 63:1

Read. Study.

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.  Job 23:12

The Bible is far from just amazing information (Psalms 119:98-100; 2 Peter 1:3-4, etc.). More important than vital information coming from our Maker, God’s Word is your spiritual food and without it, without daily ingesting it, you will famish, fall, and ultimately perish.

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

Read that again: The only way to “grow” is to “desire” and to devour the Word of your great God and King Jesus. He made you to know Him (John 17:3).

The only way to keep, to guard your heart before the LORD, is to keep it full of God’s Word.

“Keep (guard, till the soil of) thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23

In fact, like Job, we must make the spiritual food of God’s Word more important than the food that fuels and keeps healthy our physical body.

“Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” Job 23:12

“He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart RETAIN my words: keep my commandments, and live.” Proverbs 4:4

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1

Find. Eat. Rejoice.

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16

YOUR PRAYER: Father please unite my heart to fear Thy name. Forgive my sins of spiritual adultery, of self-idolatry. Here and now I renounce my own ownership on my life. It’s Your life LORD. Reign on the throne of this heart and cut away, circumcise any and everything of iniquity in my heart and life. You must increase but I must decrease, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Victory Over “Evil Concupiscence” and Every Sexual Sin [podcast]

“Flee fornication”

“Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16  What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:15-20

“Concupiscence” appears 3 times in God’s Word and speaking of having a secret desire for that which is forbidden, namely in sexual lust.

“But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.” Romans 7:8

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:” Colossians 3:5

“Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:” 1 Thessalonians 4:5

Revelation 19:7-9

“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9  And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

Colossians 3:1-6

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6  For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:”

Memorize Colossians 3:3

“Submerge yourself deeper and deeper into Jesus until you sink out of sight.”!! Unknown

1 Thessalonians 4:1-8

“Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 2  For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 3  For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4  That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5  Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 6  That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 7  For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 8  He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.”

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23

Read Psalms 51 and Romans 6 each morning.

PRAYER: Holy Father, please forgive my many sins. Please touch this vessel all the way to the core of who You made me to be. Do Your work in this life You gave. Please unite my heart to fear Thy name and purify this heart O LORD. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Simplicity of Real Fellowship [podcast]

Satan thinks he has Stolen the Fellowship of the Saints

“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” Revelation 12:12

Exhorting God’s People “Daily”

“But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” Hebrews 3:13

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16

“Feed my sheep”

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.”  John 21:15-17

Simplicity in Fellowship

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”  Acts 2:42

They “continued steadfastly in …

  • “the apostles doctrines”
  • “fellowship”
  • “breaking bread”
  • “prayers”

“Great podcast. Thank you. As I was listening I was thinking about all the many churches we have attended through the years. And the one thing missing was love for Jesus. Everything was robotic. Hands raised in singing but no hearts raised. All scripted. You follow the script then go home. No honesty about their lives! All fake. Nothing more than a religious gathering. The disciples of old turned the world upside down because of their love for their Savior! They were willing to die for Him and they did! All these fake Christians do is wear outward religious garb and somehow think Jesus doesn’t know – as in Matthew 23. How refreshing it is to be around people who love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind! (Mat 22:37). Even if it is mostly online and as they live their daily lives. At least it is all about Jesus and not self! And I want to be with people who are Christ-centered not self-centered!” Karen Cochran

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please do Your work in this vessel that is Yours. Help me to love You more and to live to serve others as You did LORD Jesus. Make me holy as You are holy. Let this life be crucified and raised up by You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
