L. Ray Smith Exposed
The late L. Ray Smith was a total heretic who like all or most cultists, denies eternal punishment in hell, denies the triune nature of God, and is a universalist (believes all will be saved in the end with or without Christ).
IN SHORT, L. RAY SMITH WAS AN ANTI-GODHEAD, UNIVERSALIST, ANNIHILIST. HIS TEACHING LIVEs ON THROUGH HIS DECEIVED PREY WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED THAT THEY HAVE NO LOVE FOR THE TRUTH AND HAVE BEEN SENT BY GOD HIMSELF A “STRONG DELUSION.” (2 THESSALONIANS 2:9-12)
Is hell not eternal? What did Jesus teach? Smith says hell is not eternal.
Who’s lying? Jesus or L. Ray Smith?
Mark 9
“And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.
49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.”
Smith denied eternal punishment. That alone makes him a lying blasphemer who contradicted what Jesus taught.
If you defend a wolf, you will receive the same judgment (hell) as he receives (2 John 10-11).
ANY PERSON WHO BELIEVES AND/OR TEACHES THAT HELL IS NOT ETERNAL AND DENIES THAT ALL THE WICKED WILL BE THERE, IS NOT SAVED. THEY HAVE CALLED THE VERY SON OF GOD A LIAR.
In Luke 16:19-31, Jesus taught about one man who died and went to hell, a “place of torments.” Jesus made it clear that his suffering would be forever and the great chasm would forever separate him from comfort and those enjoying it. Read that passage closely.
One person, speaking of L. Ray Smith, wrote:
“This is actually one of the first debates that I have ever had via email. I was searching the internet one day when I came across a web site called ‘Bible-Truths.com.’ I decided to check it out and read what the man had to say, and I was disgusted. Almost everything this guy said was in complete contradiction with the scripture although he used hundreds of scriptures to support his claims. Me being the optimist that I was decided to write the man a letter of correction in hopes that he would see the truth and change his teaching. How naive was I? In any event, this is what came from it. Notice that even those who have their own web sites, are much older, and study very long periods of time, still commit all the same errors that your average cultists do. The man misrepresents what I have actually said and then argues the false argument that he has created for me. Plus all his study hasn’t helped his spelling either. Mr. Smith will be blue and I will be red. Compare everything to the Word of God and decide who agrees.”
The following information is provided by Apologetics Index (http://www.apologeticsindex.org/430-l-ray-smith):
L. Ray Smith operates a website titled, “Exposing Those Who Contradict,” hosted at bible-truths.com and bibletruths.com.
Unfortunately, L. Ray Smith’s doctrine is not sound. His writings also evidence a lack of sound scholarly procedure (e.g. poor hermeneutics; not providing full – or any – references for works cited; misrepresenting other people’s views; answering another point than the one made by his opponent).
L. Ray Smith’s Heretical Teachings: Bizarre Heretic Exposed
Most glaringly, Smith denies the doctrine of the Trinity. This doctrine is one of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.
Those who reject one or more of the key teachings of the Christian faith are considered heretics.
As Robert M. Bowman points out, heresy is:
“[d]octrine which is erroneous in such a way that Christians must divide themselves as a church from all who teach or accept it; those adhering to heresy are assumed to be lost, although Christians are unable to make definitive judgments on this matter. The opposite of orthodoxy.”
– Source: A Biblical Guide To Orthodoxy And Heresy, Part One: The Case For Doctrinal Discernment” (an article from the Christian Research Journal, Summer 1990, page 28) by Robert M. Bowman.
In addition to his denial of the Trinity, L. Ray Smith teaches universalism.
In Christian theology universalism is the heretical belief that ultimately all people will be saved (reconciled to God) through the atonement of Jesus, regardless of what they believe – and regardless of whether or not they accept Jesus Christ.
“Sophomoric Sarcasm”
Phil Johnson, on his Phil Johnson’s Bookmarks site, has filed “Exposing Those Who Contradict” under the heading of “Really Bad Theology,” and comments:
L. Ray Smith rants and raves with sophomoric sarcasm against the doctrine of eternal punishment. He also insists evil was “created” by God. He seems to have a particular vendetta against D. James Kennedy. This would be amusing if it were not so thoroughly unbiblical. – Source: ~Really Bad Theology, ~’Phil Johnsons Bookmarks
Staunch Defenders
Smith does have a number of staunch defenders who, apparently, prefer his opinions over Biblical fact largely because they approve of his heretical beliefs. They tend to challenge Smith detractors with various challenges to prove that his teachings are incorrect. Doing so appears to be about as useful as throwing pearls to swine. There already is a large body of teachings available on the subjects L. Ray Smith rejects.

Mission Mexico Part 26

Our LORD is Changing Lives here in Mexico
Last week our brother in Christ Vicente had a financial need and you met that need for Vicente and his family.
I brought him the money and he was… absolutely elated. He had been telling me about this pretty serious need for a few weeks. Finally I brought him the money he needed. God is able amen saints.
Update: Vicente update: I ran into our brother Vicente this morning and he was ministering to some men who were a work crew right outside of his restaurant on the street. I quickly handed him about 40 JESUS tracts and he began passing them to the men. Going to be supplying Vicente with more of the JESUS tract in Spanish soon.
Our brother is super overjoyed for the help he received to get his family vehicle repaired.
Jesus is God.
He’s coming.
More on the ministry to the Spanish speaking peoples of our LORD’s world! In the fellowship with the Florida group, a dear lady named Hilda repented and received Christ. Thank you for thanking our LORD for saving her and for His perfect will to be done in Hilda’s life. Phil 1:6
Excellent fruitful ministry time with Alex today. He’s also been sent the Born Again book in Spanish (PDF). Would you like to pause and ask God to bless, to save this man? (Ps 2:8; Acts 3:26)
Your prayers and support make this mission work to these beautiful, ultra-receptive people possible.
No religious organization or rich people support this Gospel mission. God is the Author of it!
Thousands have received the Gospel by the spoken ministry of the Word in Spanish and the JESUS tract.
“WE are labourers TOGETHER with God.” 1 Cor 3:9
“Matthew 5:3! No one wants to be in a humble state of submission in America. Even the so-called Christians! And be needy and weak. Like a little child. They pride themselves on all they can do. And why do I need God I can do it myself! This is why I love hearing testimonies of the people of Mexico who are poor in spirit, meek and humble! Without this you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” Karen Cochran
Thank you for lifting in prayer the Mexican people – that many more will be saved and established in Christ (1 Timothy 2:4).

WHY IS THE KING JAMES VERSION CALLED THE “AUTHORIZED VERSION”?

Excerpt from “Answers To Your Bible Version Questions”
© 2001 by David W. Daniels
Question: Why is the King James Bible called the “Authorized Version”? How did King James Authorize it?
Answer: Despite stories to the contrary, King James, in no uncertain terms, clearly authorized the translation of the Bible that now bears his name.
[Note: This is a drastically shortened account of the birth of God’s preserved words in English. Longer accounts are available, as in Final Authority: A Christian’s Guide to the King James Bible, by William P. Grady.]
Sanctioning the Authorized Version
When Elizabeth died on April 1, 1603, she had seen 130 editions of the New Testament and the Bible published during her 45 years as Queen of England. James VI of Scotland, son of Mary, “Queen of Scots,” became James I of England.
Four days later, on his way to London, a delegation of Puritan ministers met James, asking him to hear their grievances against the Church of England. James consented, and on January of 1604, four Puritans came to express their troubles at Hampton Court, in front of King James and over 50 Anglican (Church of England) officials. One by one each request was rejected, until the Puritan group’s leader, John Rainolds said these famous words:
“May your Majesty be pleased to direct that the Bible be now translated, [since] such versions as are extant [are] not answering to the original.”
At first, Bishop Bancroft of London was dead-set against it, saying, “If every man’s humor might be followed, there would be no end to translating.” But the King made it clear he liked the idea. Not too long later Bancroft wrote this to a friend:
I move you in his majesty’s name that, … no time may be overstepped by you for the better furtherance of this holy work…. You will scarcely conceive how earnest his majesty is to have this work begun!
When this Bible was translated, the title page was printed basically as you find it today in Cambridge Bibles:
HOLY BIBLE
CONTAINING THE
OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS
TRANSLATED OUT OF THE ORIGINAL TONGUES:
AND WITH THE FORMER TRANSLATIONS
DILIGENTLY COMPARED AND REVISED
BY HIS MAJESTY’S SPECIAL COMMAND
APPOINTED TO BE READ IN CHURCHES
The King James Bible was “Authorized” to be translated as God’s Word for the English-speaking people of the world. God bless you as you study His authorized and preserved words in English, the King James Bible.
