Satan’s Goal, Game, and Gamit

The phrase “Back to the Garden” many times refers to growing and eating your own organic food. Good move for sure. In this case, let’s say that going “Back to the Garden” is going to refer to the Garden of Eden – in the book of origins whereby we foundationally begin to understand the things of God, the perfection of man’s original state, the temptation, the fall into sin, His creation and divine intention for mankind, how things came to be as they are, redemption, etc.

In the Garden it was Satan who displaced the man and woman from God via casting doubt upon what He had stated, and then adding to it (changing it). Read Genesis 2:17; 3:1, 4. Selah. Any man doing these things today, is the very agent of the enemy of all souls himself – Satan.

It was satan himself, in the Garden, who convinced the man and woman they couldn’t lose their salvation (Genesis 2:17; 3:4). Those teaching “eternal security” are teaching this same doctrine of devils (1 Timothy 4:1).

Paul the apostle was “jealous over” Christ’s body whom he “espoused (engaged) … to one husband (Christ).” As an overseer called by God, the apostle sought and fought to “present (them) as a chaste virgin to Christ.” He feared that as Eve was subtly beguiled by Satan, so Satan’s ministers would seduce and corrupt the minds of God’s people away from Christ, removing them from being singly affectioned to Christ, from “the simplicity that is in Christ.”

“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:2-3

a [For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband] The apostle here alludes to the custom of special care of virgins to see that they are educated and kept pure for marriage.
b [virgin to Christ] Paul was jealous over his own converts that he might present them to Christ just like a chaste virgin is presented to her husband. It was not Paul’s job to present the whole church to Jesus Christ. Each man will have rejoicing in his own converts (1Th_2:19).

[so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ] Here Paul fears for his own converts that they may be turned away from Christ, as Eve was beguiled by Satan to turn away from God.” Dake

Not only did man collude with Satan in the Garden ….. Satan has personal knowledge of what it means to be expelled from the presence of God because of his choice to sin against Him.

Satan began perverting God’s Word, changing what He said, all the way back in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:17; 3:1, 4).

“Individuals have believed the worst lie unleashed by Satan on humanity when they believe redemption cannot be lost in the temporal realm. It is as the lie the serpent told Eve. The fact is, that the eternal security lie has been largely perpetrated by Calvinism. There are no verses that support it. It is the major reason for the apostasy, and currently the great and final apostasy.” Cedric Fisher

Satan deceived a third of the angels in Heaven – causing them to be irrevocably separated from the Almighty. He also deceived the first man and woman in the Garden causing them to fall away from God, to be separated from Him who is “Holy, holy, holy” (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). Satan told them they would “NOT surely die” if they sinned against God (Genesis 2:17; 3:4). HOW TO KNOW SATAN’S SNAKES

It’s simple: they teach the same “eternal security” lie that Satan taught and which caused the fall of mankind in the Garden. Beware. Confirming people in their sin—promising them eternal security while they are not in a present, holy, abiding, obedient relationship with Christ, is the work of wolves! (Genesis 2:17; 3:4; Jeremiah 23:17; Jude 3-5)

Satan’s Goal and Game in the Garden!

What was his goal? – to cause the man and woman to sin. Remember, Lucifer, now Satan, spent eons in Heaven hearing the angels crying out in worship to God, “Holy, holy, holy” (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). The devil has intimate knowledge of God, of His holiness, and of what separates His created beings from Him. Satan himself is a product of rebellion! Selah.

Historical and foundational understanding happens when you see where eternal security/OSAS originated! Game over for Satan!

GOD SAID this to the sinless man in the Garden, Adam:

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof THOU SHALT SURELY DIE.” Genesis 2:17

SATAN SAID THE FOLLOWING AS HE TEMPTED THE WOMAN TO EAT OF THE FRUIT OF THE TREE GOD HAD FORBIDDEN.

WHO told the woman she was not going to “die” if she sinned? Satan.

In the Garden God told the man that if he disobeyed, if he sinned, he would die which means to die spiritually and be separated from God (Genesis 2:17). Then Satan countered with:

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall NOT surely die:” Genesis 3:4

There it is. This is the exact lie we know is being peddled today as OSAS (once saved always saved), eternal security, or the perseverance of the saints.

The first man and woman took the bait of the enemy and were expelled from the presence of God, from the garden of God.

Now are we beginning to see how the OSAS counterfeits are shaking their fist in the eyes of a holy God when they declare that sin doesn’t separate them from Him?

We know the LORD kept His Word and yet if God had not expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden when they sinned, we’d be saying:

He is a liar
He did not keep His own Word
He is no longer holy
that the wages of sin is not death
the fall of man never happened

Like the first man and woman whom Satan tricked, many today have been weakened in their resolve via Satan’s first lie which is peddled today under the guise of being part of the Gospel. They use cliches of OSAS (once saved always saved) or eternal security. As we see in the Garden when Satan used this very lie to cause the fall of mankind, his unconditional security heresy removes the holy fear of God from the hearts of those who allow it and lowers their guard, always leading to sin against a God who told us that He is “Holy, holy, holy” and to “Be ye holy as I am holy” (Isaiah 6:3; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 4:8). He also told us that “the soul that sinneth, it shall die” and “the wages of sin is death” (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23).

QUESTION: IF Adam and Eve who were born sinless, who were in perfect communion with God, who NEVER knew sin, fell only AFTER they were told by Satan that they were “eternally secure”, how could those possibly born in sin not fall away? hmmmmm Satan himself is the author of the doctrine of “once saved always saved.” See Genesis 2:17; 3:4.

The Pristine State of the Garden of God’s Creation – Before and After Sin was Committed

Were Adam and Eve in perfect communion, perfect standing with the LORD? Yes. What changed? Sin. Did God then remove them from His presence? Yes. Why? He’s “Holy, holy, holy,” and therefore “the wages of sin is death” which means separation from God because He is holy (Isaiah 6:3; Romans 6:23; Revelation 4:8). Has He changed? No (Hebrews 13:8).

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezekiel 18:4

All who vainly believe they can live in sin and still be Heaven bound are serving themselves. They view things from their own selfish-perspective because they have never truly repented and are serving the god of self – are living according to a self-serving agenda. Their “god is their belly” (Philippians 3:18-19). In contrast, those who truly serve the LORD honor Him for being who He told us He is – “Holy, holy, holy” (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). And, in doing so they conform to HIS will, and do HIS thing, not their own thing. They live on HIS stated terms, and not their own. This is in contrast to the many who claim to be Christ’s but live according to their own selfish agenda, on their own terms and not God’s. These are the ones Jesus foretold He’s going to declare to them “Depart from me.”

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof (sin against Me) thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17

Satan and Eve

“Now the serpent was more subtil (deceptive, cunning) than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall NOT surely die … Genesis 3:1-4

“Not” was the 3-letter word that changed history – both then and now. Adam and Eve fell from grace by believing God had not given them personal responsibility to choose to obey Him. The same Devil, in the form, the guise of the most “subtil” creature is still lying and leading millions to damnation – to be separated from God – by telling them they will “NOT surely die (be separated from God)” if they sin.

The Imperative of Private Prayer [podcast]

We must be aware of our prayers we throw up while they have no congruence with our personal life – when they are shot gun prayers void of the foundation of private prayer, private praying, and holy living.

Private prayer with God is an essential to set your life up for success.

Private prayer is essential to the disciple. Jesus reveals here that those who seek His face in prayer privately, will be used of Him publicly!

Are you at Christ’s feet? Do you live a life of prayer? Have you ever studied the life of Christ and beheld the many instances of His prayer life?

“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” Mark 1:35

“Solitary” simply means uninhabited.

If we want to assess our true spiritual state with God, we need only look to our prayer life or lack thereof. Show me a man’s prayer life, and I will show you who that man is! When God is truly first in a person’s life, all else will be demoted in importance!

“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” Revelation 2:4-5

Backsliding begins with neglect of our relationship, our prayer life, our life of prayer with our LORD and Savior.

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

I will either pray my way into glory, or I will not be there (Matthew 26:41).

“Hebrews 10:22: ‘Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.’ This is how we are to come to God in prayer and fellowship. With a true (honest) heart that has been washed in the pure blood of Jesus, confessing our sins so our conscience is clear, and we are cleansed from the filthiness of the flesh.
