What is “witchcraft”? Does witchcraft happen, does it mean someone puts on a pointy black hat, dresses like a witch in a long black robe, and does incantations and sends curses on others? It can but that’s not very common. “Witchcraft” or the craft of witches, witch-craft is a soul damning sin found in the list Galatians 5:19-21. “Witchcraft” is exercising unwarranted CONTROL via manipulation, dreams, false prophecies, false teachings, end times Bible charts, etc., is witchcraft. Study that definition and look at it in light of the whole Word. “Witchcraft” displaces us from Christ, from trusting and from obeying Him (Galatians 3:3). Wielding “witchcraft” over God’s people is the evil action of the witches and warlocks in our midst. Why? – To put people in the flesh, to cause them to stop trusting God by faith, to entice them to sin by relying on someone other than Christ, something other than His written Word. No matter what form it comes in, that’s exactly what it’s designed to do and this is what derails believers, causing them to “fall away”, to “depart from the faith.” (Luke 8:13; 1 Timothy 4:1-2, etc.) This is what all heresy, every lie, every false system of theology is designed by the enemy of souls to do.

For the Israelites, it was pornography/fornication that caused them to be put to death (Numbers 25; 1 Corinthians 10:8). For the Galatians it was bringing them back under the law that caused some of them to fall away from Christ, from saving grace (Galatians 3:1-3; 5:4), Satan has tools in his bag to cause you to fall. Do you know what they are and how to overcome?

Remember Balaam and Balak and how they caused the children of Israel to sin against God and thereby lose His favor and protection? (Numbers 25) Sin separates us from God who is “Holy, holy, holy” and will not dwell with the unholy (Psalms 101:7; Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8; 1 Peter 1:15-16, etc.).

Numbers 31:16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

“Nourished Up” – like a wise virgin Heaven bound saint.

“If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.” 1 Timothy 4:6

On this biblical topic of fervency, of being “fervent in spirit”, one commentary offers the following:

“Nourished up in the words of faith” is a biblical phrase from 1 Timothy 4:6, meaning to be continually fed, strengthened, and built up by scripture, sound Christian teaching, and doctrine, much like food sustains the body, these spiritual words sustain and grow the soul, leading to spiritual maturity and a deeper walk with God. It signifies a deliberate, ongoing intake of God’s truth, which fosters growth, guards against false teachings, and fuels a believer’s life.” (Source?)

It’s one thing to have a mere human giving you encouragement and yet another thing to get your encouragement, your spiritual nourishment from God—directly. King James Bible.
