What God’s Word Says about Honesty [podcast]

“Honest” appears 7 times in the Bible.

“But that on the good ground are they, which in an HONEST and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15

“Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of HONEST report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” Acts 6:3

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things HONEST in the sight of all men.” Romans 12:17

“Providing for HONEST things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.” 2 Corinthians 8:21

“Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is HONEST, though we be as reprobates.” 2 Corinthians 13:7

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are HONEST, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

“Having your conversation HONEST among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:13

“Honesty” appears once.

“For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and HONESTY.” 1 Timothy 2:2

“I believe the Lord’s been convicting (working on) me re Matthew 5:37. Keep it simple — all the rest cometh of evil! Don’t want to give place for an entrance of evil in communication and attitudes. Close the door to man-pleasing, pride, arrogance, self-importance, lies, etc.. It’s the tongue, again, right? Daily humbling myself before the Lord and being washed clean by the blood of the Lamb! Dying deeper to be filled and raised up into life in Christ alone! His mercy endures forever. All glory and praise to God.”
