The Wrath of Man vs the Wrath of God [podcast]

“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1:20

vs

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” Romans 1:18

“And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.” Romans 2:3-11

Whenever you are speaking the words of God, you are preaching the judgment of GOD, not men.

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24

When you encounter a person in darkness, don’t take it personally. No, rather, see it as an opportunity to kindly plant the seed of the Word of God in their heart – which never returns back to the LORD void but always accomplishes that which pleases Him (Isaiah 55:11). “God is love.” (1 John 4:8, 16)

Preaching the Gospel today, running into many sinners who recklessly judge others …. Along with giving them Jesus’ words of warning in Matthew 7:1-5, here’s my reply to one of them:

God says (sinner’s name) is a liar, thief, adulterer, fornicator and every other sin under the sun because we’ve ALL sinned and are going to pay eternally for those sins in hell unless we repent and receive Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. So, judging _______ or anyone else is merely a smokescreen. You are 100% guilty of sin and in big trouble. Repent and receive Jesus before it’s too late. You are going to hell if you don’t repent and receive Christ. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:30)

The authentic disciple must cry out to the LORD to be stripped of every sinful trace of iniquity that does not please Jesus Christ. Self-righteousness is one of those defiling attitudes. Personally, I’ve incorporated this following passage as a daily reciting, meditation in order to dispel this evil of self-righteousness.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:5-7
