The Strong Woman vs the Virtuous Woman

TRUTH vs LIES
Which are you Walking in?

Have you noticed how a lot of the memes circulating about women begin with “A strong woman … blah, blah, blah”?

Is that biblical? No! Beware of Satan, lurking, insidiously deceiving like the snake in the Garden, seeking to get his lies, his poisons into your mind. Anytime you see a meme that begins with “A strong woman”, you’d do best to pass over it, give it no attention.

A “strong woman” is a lost woman, a lost soul. That’s the world, not the kingdom of Christ, and yet many Christian women are pushing, circulating this evil line of lies (John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 2:11; 1 Peter 5:8).

A “strong woman” is a woman outside of Christ, attempting to be strong in herself. Feeble. A born again woman has her life laid down and the power that works in her is the divine power of the Almighty, the LORD Jesus Christ who was raised from the dead after He was crucified and buried for our sins! (Romans 8:11)

The woman of the world is a woman limited to her own finite, puny self-will. The woman of God is a woman of the cross whose life is raised up by the power of Christ! (2 Corinthians 4:10-12)

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2

The God-fearing woman lives by Holy Scripture, not by worldly sayings, humanistic platitudes, or worldly philosophy and rudiments.

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments (thinking, sayings) of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:8-10

There’s nothing so beautiful as the woman who is in the middle of God’s will as a wife, mother, and helper to those around her (Proverbs 31).

Before you even read those memes or anything about what God-less people believe woman are to be, read everything the LORD says in His Word about women, why HE created them, and what HIS will, purpose, and design is for women. Otherwise, you will be deceived.

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:23-24

The Bible speaks of the Virtuous woman, not a strong woman (Proverbs 31). Her strength is in her submission to the Almighty. The virtuous, the godly woman has repented and laid down her life in this world, is born again, and fully, wholly dependent upon God her Maker and not her own strength (Proverbs 3:5-7). See the difference? As a disciple of Jesus, it’s only when we are weak that He becomes the strength in us, right? (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) It’s only when we are doornail dead and buried that Jesus raises us upward for HIS glory (2 Corinthians 4:10-12). Beware sisters!

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

The God-fearing woman is strong in the LORD, not self. She’s not self-willed but Savior-willed. She’s denounced her own agenda and so is not self-powered but rather Savior-powered, full of His divine grace! The virtuous woman is a woman of the cross!

The woman who fears the LORD, obeys Him and is too busy about being a wife, mother, and teaching younger women than to be deluded by the worldly poisons of jezebel.

PROVERBS 31

The Words of King Lemuel

1  The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2  What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3  Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4  It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5  Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6  Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7  Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8  Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9  Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
The Woman Who Fears the Lord
10  Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11  The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12  She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13  She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14  She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16  She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17  She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18  She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20  She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21  She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22  She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24  She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25  Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26  She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28  Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30  Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31  Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
