Satan Seals Off the Truth from those who Embrace His Original Lie

“Even him (the antichrist), whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

They had more pleasure in their unrighteous living than in the truth. They chose to love their own pleasurous lifestyle than the truth revealed in God’s Word.

That “spirit of antichrist” sits in the temple of his own heart, refusing to allow Christ to reign supreme. This is the the exact evil disposition and spirit that underlies the OSAS lie – as it did with Adam and Eve. – “And the serpent (Satan) said unto the woman, Ye shall NOT surely die (Lie Number 1: if you sin there will be no eternal consequences): 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5)

This passage in 2 Thessalonians 2 (below) defines “the spirit of antichrist” (1 John 4:1-3):

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

“Antichrist” is a Bible word and means in place of Christ (1 John 4:1-3). When we put ourselves in place of Christ, we are antichrist. When we put any teaching or false gospel in place of Christ’s clear teachings, we are are submitting to and walking in “the spirit of antichrist.” So many today erroneously believe they can ignore Christ’s teachings and still be in right standing with Him. These souls are completely deceived because Jesus tied the two together:

“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me AND of my words (teachings) in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38

The LORD Jesus taught:

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21

The Evil Spirit Behind OSAS and its Devotees

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly (plainly, specifically), that in the latter times some shall depart (leave) from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;” 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Does Satan have “doctrines”? He sure does. Well, he taught the man and the woman in the Garden – contrary to what God had just told them – view and compare the words of the LORD recorded in Genesis 2:17 with the words of Satan in Genesis 3:4.

OSAS (once saved always saved) – People who are inoculated from the truth because they have believed the lie of OSAS dismiss the myriad of warnings found in the New Testament. They attempt to manipulate and do interpretational acrobatics instead of simply taking God at His Word. For example, when you quote the book of Hebrews (which is loaded with warnings to believers not to fall away), they will come up with “Well that was written to the Jews.” WHATTTTT????  There’s no difference in Christ between Jew and Gentile and any beginner Bible student knows that (Ephesians 2, etc.). Hebrews addresses “holy brethren” which as the saved, includes all who are in Christ and their previous national or religious background means nothing now that they are in Christ (Hebrews 3:1; Ephesians 2; Romans 2:28-29). – “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)

But what’s at stake? Their life in this world is at stake and they simply do not want to give it up – they don’t want to have to lose their life in this world as Jesus said one must do to follow Him and go to Heaven.

“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. … So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:27, 33

“Remember Lot’s wife (she’s turned back after being rescued). 33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.” Luke 17:32-33

Could Christ have made this any clearer?

OSAS is the doctrine of self preservation which is the antithesis of the “daily” cross Christ commanded that one take up if he’s going to follow Jesus (Luke 9:23-24).

“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.” Luke 19:27

We see in this verse above (Luke 19:27) that Christ’s “enemies” are those who do not allow Him to “reign over them. This is the same truth the apostle Paul nailed in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 when he said that their will be those last hour professors who have a mere “form (formula; facade) of godliness, but denying the power (the authority of Christ) thereof.”

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

These are those cross-less counterfeits that love their false leaders whom Paul says are “the enemies of the cross of Christ.”

“(For MANY (not a few) walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction (eternal damnation), whose God is their belly (selfish appetites), and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” Philippians 3:18-19

Cross-less counterfeits abound and they are in the pulpits. They write the cotton candy books we call “Christian.” They stage the ministries we call local churches which are nothing more than entertainment centers that tell the people what their un-circumcised hearts wish to hear. Is this not the fulfillment of prophecy? If so, why are we surprised?

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (stories, story tellers).” 2 Timothy 4:2-4

I Believe the LORD can work with the “Honest”

Let me stop for a moment and say that this writer, just as the reader, has the same sinful tendencies daily. Yet, we do ourselves no good to deny the truth – to lie against what is plainly written (James 3:14). “Lie not against the truth” but rather “Let God be true and EVERY man a liar.” (James 3:14; Romans 3:4) You see, those who seek to hide their sins will not prosper or be in Christ. – “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13)

Seems to me that God can work with the person who chooses to be “honest.” – “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” (Luke 8:15) Many times while ministering to someone, I have heard the refreshing honesty of those not presently abiding in Christ. Yes, it’s unfortunate that they had drifted and were no longer living in communion with Jesus and yet, at least they were honest about it and not trying to cover their tracks with the OSAS lie. Many others I have spoken with about Jesus and their eternal souls, while openly living in sin, have stated things like “Oh, I’m eternally secure. I took care of my salvation years ago. I’m once saved always saved.” Friends, no one could be in a more dangerous position. Why? Read what Peter wrote:

“For IF (that means it’s possible) AFTER they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge (knowing Him) of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are AGAIN entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, AFTER they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit AGAIN; and the sow that WAS washed to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:20-2

Self-Serving Instead of Savior Serving

Why won’t the eternal securists simply take God at His Word?

Matthew 24:11 No matter the façade, those who believe OSAS are not and will not walk in the holy fear of God, taking personal responsibility for their every thought and action. In their darkened minds, this is what’s at stake – being able to live as THEY choose and still believe they are “eternally secure” (a term that never appears in Scripture). They will not be holy as He is holy – because in their minds it is not essential. Yet the Bible tells us something different.

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which NO man shall see the Lord:” Hebrews 12:14

If sin doesn’t separate us from God, that would mean that God is not Holy which is a lie (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8; 21:8; Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23;).

The language and demands found in Holy Scripture – straight from God – are far different than the fairy tale message that has deluded every “evangelical Christian” today, especially those who espouse this OSAS lie from hell.

Matthew 24:10-13

“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:10-13

Here’s clear proof that OSAS adherents are not following Christ’s teaching which means they are not following Him (Mark 8:38; John 14:21). Out of personal convenience and the evil desire to live this life as they wish instead of as Christ wishes, they ignore and refuse to believe what He plainly stated.

In v13 of Matthew 24 above, Jesus Christ gives a condition for being with Him eternally but the OSAS adherent ignores that because he erroneously believes that he is unconditionally eternally secure – that is, he vainly believes that after the moment he repented and received Christ, he has no further personal responsibility to endure in saving trust/faith with Christ (abiding, fruit-bearing fellowship – John 15:1-6). But according to the New Testament record, continuing to the end is essential to being with Christ in Heaven – being found in Christ in that last dying breath (Matthew 24-25; Luke 12:35-40; Colossians 1:23; Hebrews 2:3; 3:6, 12-14; 10:26-39, etc.).

Nothing could be more deadly than believing you are secure when you are not. The most deceived person is the one who was once genuinely saved and is now living outside of an abiding fellowship with Christ. Yet the OSAS lie leads it’s gullible adherents to believe that they are still secure eternally while living their personal life outside of intimacy with Christ (1 John 17; John 15:1-6). While living life on their own terms – “having a (mere) for of godliness” – they still believe they are going to Heaven when they die (2 Timothy 3:1-7). This is perhaps Satan greatest deception and his first. See Genesis 2:17; 3:4. This is exactly why we put together the books Lie of the Ages and Soul Damning Sins.

The OSAS adherent allows his tradition to trump the very words of the One he claims saved him and holds him in the state of “eternal security.” Such an “evangelical” dupe is no different than the Mormon cultist whose book of Mormon trumps God’s Word. His traditions – that which man and devils taught him – takes precedence over Christ and what His holy apostles plainly stated.

“Beware lest ANY MAN spoil you (ruin your eternal soul) through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Colossians 2:8

We are warned not to allow any mere “man” to steal away our heavenly crown (salvation). Yet, some are literally hell bent on follow their pastor instead of having a real life in God’s Word for themselves – studying to show their own selves approved unto Him so that they will not be ashamed in the end (2 Timothy 2:15).

“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Revelation 3:11

“MANY” will be deceived by the “MANY” false prophets of this last hour before Christ’s return:

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:11

We know when “that spirit of antichrist” is working through a rebel when he speaks contrary to God’s Word (John 8:47; 1 John 4:3). “That spirit of antichrist”anti (in place of) Christ is anything that contradicts His what God’s Word says, working to subvert divinely stated truth while posing as Christ’s minister (2 Corinthians 11:12-15).

IF you desire to truly hear from GOD, read His own Word for yourself. King James Bible.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

“Nourished Up” – like a wise virgin Heaven bound saint.

“If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.” 1 Timothy 4:6

On this biblical topic of fervency, of being “fervent in spirit”, one commentary offers the following:

“Nourished up in the words of faith” is a biblical phrase from 1 Timothy 4:6, meaning to be continually fed, strengthened, and built up by scripture, sound Christian teaching, and doctrine, much like food sustains the body, these spiritual words sustain and grow the soul, leading to spiritual maturity and a deeper walk with God. It signifies a deliberate, ongoing intake of God’s truth, which fosters growth, guards against false teachings, and fuels a believer’s life.” (Source?)

It’s one thing to have a mere human giving you encouragement and yet another thing to get your encouragement, your spiritual nourishment from God—directly. King James Bible.

Psalms 73

“Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

20 As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.”

“Fervent in Spirit” [podcast]

“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;” Romans 12:11

Concerning being “fervent in spirit,” one commentator notes that this means to:

“Maintain zeal to the boiling point.” Dake

“Fervent” – A primary verb; to be hot (boil, of liquids; or glow, of solids), that is, (figuratively) be fervid (earnest): – be fervent.

“Do nothing at any time but what is to the glory of God, and do every thing as unto him; and in every thing let your hearts be engaged.” Adam Clarke

“Never let your zeal flag (lag, drop, tank), maintain the spiritual glow, serve the Lord.” Here we are reminded of the words of Jeremiah 48:10: ‘Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully,'” Believer’s Bible Commentary

Apollos was “fervent in the spirit.”

“This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being FERVENT in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.” Acts 18:25

In all things Christ’s saints are to be “fervent in spirit”:

“Not slothful in business; FERVENT in spirit; serving the Lord;” Romans 12:11

Disciples of Jesus are to have a “fervent mind” toward all saints and ministers of His blessed Gospel:

“And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your FERVENT mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.” 2 Corinthians 7:7

“Fervent prayer” is to be offered to God for other of His saints:

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual FERVENT prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James_5:16

Jesus’ people are to have “fervent charity among” ourselves:

“And above all things have FERVENT charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

“Fervent heat” will soon consume the wicked who refused the salvation that comes from Christ alone:

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with FERVENT heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:10

“Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with FERVENT heat.” 2 Peter 3:12

On this biblical topic of fervency, of being “fervent in spirit”, one commentary offers the following:

“2 Peter 3:

To be ‘fervent in spirit’ means to have intense, burning passion, zeal, and enthusiasm for spiritual matters, often linked to serving God, rather than being lukewarm or apathetic. It implies being ‘boiled’ with spiritual energy, actively engaged, and diligent in faith, as described in Romans 12:11, (‘not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord’). It’s a passionate, fiery commitment, distinct from fanaticism, involving earnest application and a deep love for God.

Key aspects:

  • Intensity: A deep, glowing, or boiling heat of emotion and dedication.
  • Diligence: Not being lazy or half-hearted, but actively applying oneself to spiritual duties.
  • Spiritual Zeal: A strong desire and excitement for God’s will, the Gospel, and spiritual growth.
  • Source: Often described as being moved by the Holy Spirit, a fire within.
  • Biblical Example: Apollos was described as ‘fervent in the spirit’ as he taught diligently about the Lord (Acts 18:25).
How it’s expressed:
  • Passionate prayer
  • Diligent study of God’s Word
  • Active, loving service to others
  • Bold witnessing for faith
  • Being ‘on fire’ for God, not lukewarm”

Jesus says that those in His church who are “lukewarm” will be spued or rejected (Revelation 3:15-16). What’s the opposite of being “lukewarm”? – being “fervent in spirit.”

“Amen! Don’t let your fire die as the church in Laodicea did! They were neither cold nor hot. They were lukewarm. Comfortable! Indifferent! Their fire for the Lord had gone out. God’s not looking for people who play it safe but people who burn with fire for Him!!!” Karen Cochran

YOUR PRAYER: LORD, make me Yours. Please keep me close to You, NO MATTER what it takes. Break me dear LORD. Let the holy light of Your presence permeate and shine through my inner man. I am Your temple Jesus. Shine Your light on all darkness. I love You my LORD. In Jesus’ name.

It’s not all Going to be Pretty [podcast]

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 2:3

One of Paul’s resumes of the sufferings he endured as an apostle of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 6:3-10

“3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

4  But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

5  In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

6  By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

7  By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

8  By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

9  As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

10  As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.”

You are His. Cling to Him. The LORD Jesus is going to bring you through, not matter what you face (Deuteronomy 13:4).

“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2  When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 43:1-2

“Hated”

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 10:22

“Ye shall Laugh”

“And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 21  Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. 22  Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.” Luke 6:20-22

“Through  much Tribulation”

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:22

Eternity with Christ, “with Joy”

“For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

“To Make them White”

“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. 33  And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 34  Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. 35  And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.” Daniel 11:32-35

“Made white … the wise shall understand”

“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” Daniel 12:10
