The Mind of Christ Philippians 2 [podcast]

Instead of wrestling in strife for who’s greatest among us, let us consider whom Jesus says is “greatest among you.”

“But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.” Matthew 23:11

Please read those words of Jesus above, one more time.

“Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.” Luke 9:44

The “mind of Christ” …. let us simply prayerfully jump in and fill the needs of Christ’s people (Galatians 6:10). Can He count on you? Are you faithful to the LORD? Are you faithfully serving Him? Are you praying that He will use you in a greater fashion? If so, He heard that prayer and is answering, ever as we speak.

Christ’s disciples are not celebrities.

Saints, we are servants of God – to His body, to mankind.

If there is no death and burial, there is no resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:36).

You must die in this life to be elevated in the next. No cross, no crown.

Asking Our LORD to Allow the Mind of Christ to Possess Us

Do we possess the mind of Christ or does the mind of Christ possess us, as we are surrendered, walking in the crucified life with Christ? I’d say the latter is more the truth.

“But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 

As usual, let’s begin with taking His own Word to our LORD in prayer. His blessings will follow, every time.

Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name. Knowing that in Your Word You call me to walk in the mind of Christ, I ask You to bring this about in my life as I am all Yours, no longer my own. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Laying Down the Foundation for Your Life Based upon Christ, His Teaching

Going radical on the foundation of seeking, worshiping, putting GOD first, then others…. preferring, esteeming, lifting them up above yourself! Your whole life is about to change exponentially to the glory of God.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Matthew 22:37-39

Christ’s Example of Humility

1  If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2  Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

3  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:1-11

YOUR PRAYER: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I want to live this life You gave, for Your glory – based on the teaching and life of my LORD Jesus. Please forgive me now, afresh, for my rebellion, for not truly trusting You, for not doing things Your way. I love You Jesus. Please break me, make me, fill me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
