Self-Appointed Prophetic Frauds
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try (put to the test) the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
LOTS of self-serving flattery being pushed out there by today’s un-grounded false “prophetic” wolves which several false NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) ministries have spawned.
To a man using the “prophetic” word to snare prey, I sent him this message: “Rid your heart, mind and life of this misused “prophetic” word and philosophy. No one needs your supposed “prophetic” foolishness because God gave us His “MORE SURE word of prophecy” which is the Holy Scriptures. Go and learn what this means and repent of drawing attention to yourself. You are a piece of dust, a sinner. Humble yourself now in repentance (2 Peter 1:12-21).
“A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.” Proverbs 29:5
Those who tickle the ears of others, operate from a self-serving, sinister agenda (Philippians 3:18-19; 2 Timothy 4:2-4).
There is the true prophet and gift of prophecy for certain and yet, there are few walking in those places due to refusing to lay down their own lives, deny self, take up the cross for real, and truly follow Jesus (Luke 9:23-24).
When you see a person claiming to be “prophetic”, you can count on them being under a deceiving spirit. Beware. Not one person is seen in the New Testament canon claiming they are “prophetic.” Yes there is the gift of prophecy and yet, those who use this terminology – “the prophetic” – are false. They are biblically-illiterate gullible dupes who’ve bought the lies of the cultic NAR movement and run with those lies.
A beguiler is one who fears man and not God (Matthew 10:28; Galatians 1:10). He is simply not crucified with Christ in his personal life and therefore his god is his belly which means he is controlled by his own unbridled carnal appetites. So, when he/she moves in “the prophetic”, it’s pure self-serving, flesh-flattering beguilement. The Holy Ghost told us such men:
“(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” Philippians 3:18-19
There is a lot of misleading information being spewed by self-appointed prophet frauds saints. Beware. The infer that there is more than the Bible, as if God would speak a greater revelation. Not. There is no greater revelation because Jesus Christ, the living Word of God who became flesh, dwelled among us, and was crucified for mankind’s sins is the central theme of all of Holy Scripture. God would never contradict or outdo Himself in what He already gave us in His tangible written Word.
The fact that the world didn’t have enough room to record everything Jesus did while on earth in no way means that He did anything that contradicts with the written Word God divinely ordained be recorded tangibly in the 66 books of Holy Scripture.
There are prophets today in the New Testament era (Acts 11:27; 13:1; 15:32; Ephesians 4:11). They perfect, mature, and equip Christ’s saints by directing His people to the “more sure word of prophecy.” – the written Word (2 Peter 1:19-21). They do not use “prophet” as a title to draw attention to themselves but only function humbling in serving the LORD and His people. | Self-Appointed Title Touters
There are many self-appointed “prophetic” frauds who entice people with “words” and lead them into an experience based, instead of truth based deception. They don’t lead them to get into THE WORD which is final divine authority – the written Word, which in part protects believers from the “MANY false prophets” Jesus and His apostles repeatedly warned about (Matthew 7:15; 24:11, etc.).
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:19-21
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” Romans 16:17-18
Instant gratification drives many to migrate to the prophetic frauds who promise blessings, favor, and the riches of this world. Have you noticed how these beguilers promise every other person they prophesy over that they are going to be a “prophet to the nations”, etc. They use new age buzz words and terms such as paradigm, position, reposition, destiny, etc. They use these words to entice and manipulate their prey to give money to them, to patronize their false ministries.
Concerning the “many false prophets” operating today in the apostate modern church world, Maureen Lundie writes:
“You will find that some people will believe these ‘prophets’ more than the Word of God. The false prophets will tell them that blessings will start raining down on them within the next hour, and they believe it. Whereas God says wait. People want things now, they don’t want to wait for God’s perfect timing. And when that ‘prophets’ prophecy does not materialize, they blame God.”
When God’s people are in rebellion, they lust after their own things, they are not given over to the LORD and He allows/sends them false prophets… you know, like the lightweight, bag of wind “prophets” of the “prophetic” movement we see today.
“And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.” Jeremiah 5:13
“Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.” Jeremiah 14:14
Proof that prophets don’t see or know everything or that they are necessarily those who foretell the future….
“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.” 1 Peter 1:10-11
One writer notes: “A prophet in biblical terms was a man who proclaimed inspired words from God (not necessarily predictions of the future, but words inspired by the Holy Spirit – note 1 Peter 1:10-11; 2 Peter 1:19-21).”
In contrast to the sugar-coated, ear-tickling messages of today’s false prophets, Jesus and His holy apostles taught self-denial, the daily cross, judgment to come, the return of Christ, sufferings, humility, being poor in spirit, and contentment and thanksgiving for every blessing God provides whether it be much or little. See Isaiah 30:9-10 and 2 Timothy 4:2-4.
Esther Botha writes: “Recently, I told my friend she needs to read the Scripture as a whole to ascertain what to believe for herself. But nope no time for God’s Word. She just runs back to the buildings and listens there.”
GOD already told us in His Word all we need to know about these final days (Isaiah 46:9-10; 2 Peter 1:3-4; 19-21, etc.). Gauging all things by the written Word is key to escaping the prophesied end time apostasy. Some people choose to be led astray by the “MANY false prophets” Jesus warns us about who would “deceive MANY.” (Matthew 24:11)
Those who look for a “word”, a “prophetic word” aren’t grounded in THE WORD – “the MORE sure word of prophecy” which is the real, recorded prophetic Word from God Himself who told us the end from the beginning! (Isaiah 46:9-10; 2 Peter 1:19-21) …
Many seek to capitalize on your desire to discern, know, and follow God’s will. Beware.
God’s Word says “despise not prophesyings” and yet in the very next sentence it also warns us to “prove (test) all things.” (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21) I don’t even read most “prophecies,” prophetic words, dreams, visions, etc. that circulate these days. Most of these “words” are coming from un-grounded novices, or flagrant flakes who don’t simply “Preach the word” but rather keep the circus wheels of their “ministry” spinning by their continual words (2 Timothy 4:2-4). Not that I despise them and yet the Word of God is inherently prophetic and the primary way God leads and guides His New Testament church (Isaiah 46:9-10; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21, etc.).
“Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove (test) all things; hold fast that which is good.” 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21
The LORD desires to speak to His grounded saints daily by His Spirit and Word primarily, which is the “MORE sure word of prophecy.” Read 2 Peter 1:12-21. Do you see what God is communicating? – that the written Word is “MORE sure” than the actually audible voice of God speaking from Heaven? This is not to dismiss all prophecy, dreams, etc., and yet, so many false ministries seldom preach from the Scriptures, especially not in a thorough fashion and do not constantly rebuke and exhort their audience to get in and stay in the written Word – as Paul commanded Timothy and us (2 Timothy 2:15; 4:2). Yet the prophesied “many false prophets” get those same prey to follow and trust in their “words” and “visions” and “dreams.” We must choose THE WORD from God over “a word” from mere men. Read Jeremiah 23 and Ezekiel 34 afresh.
