Men of Corrupt Minds [podcast]

“Charity …. Beareth all things, BELIEVETH ALL THINGS, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:7

Believing all things here, in context, is believing to the best until clearly proven guilty.

“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4  He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5  Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.” 1 Timothy 6:3-5

In 1 Timothy 6:3-5, speaking of “men of corrupt minds”, Paul speaks of “evil surmisings” which means evil guessings and is disdained by the LORD. It is “men of corrupt minds” who operate in “evil surmisings.” In other words, they see other through their own heart darkened lens. They think evil instead of good about others. They evilly conclude dark things about others because their own hearts are dark and entrenched in sin (John 3:19-21).

“Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.” 2 Timothy 3:8
