From Trinkets to Trusting the King

I Love You Jesus! Thank You for Dying for Me! Thank You for Finding and Saving me before it was too Late! I am all Yours LORD. Please use me!

Just What is it Going to Take?

***NO MATTER what fad or trick or trinket a person adds to their life, such will never bring lasting satisfaction. In fact, it will probably frustrate us even more because the hope we had that at last we would feel significant due to this new _______, didn’t work. Every human being is created in our Maker’s image and only He can grant that love, deep peace, and acceptance. A tattoo, a new piercing, a new dress, nicer vehicle, or bigger house will never grant priceless peace and love as only the LORD can do. Some of the happiest people on earth have the least stuff or material items and are impoverished actually. What does that tell us? These are the things the Gentiles (those without God) seek after, thinking these things will finally be the answer they to their emptiness. Yet, such will never happen. Emptiness is permanent until Christ comes into the life. He is the life. He is the very “Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6-7) Sin is man’s core problem. It separates him from God and in that separation is emptiness, an emptiness that nothing, no physical thing, could ever fill. “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” is what you need to save your soul (Acts 20:21).  The same emptiness is happening in “Christian” circles where people are confessing, hoping, and doing things to get, get, get things for themSELVES, their idol god. These people are also lean in their souls, lost, and undone in the eyes of a holy God and the Judge of their eternal souls. God Himself is sending them that leanness of soul as a curse for their rebellion of idolatry, lust, and covetousness (Psalms 106:15; Romans 1:18-32; 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). They are being taught to be self-seeking like the greedy, covetous wolves they are allowing to lead them (2 Peter 2:1-3). These hell bound wolves are exploiting their gullible prey for their own greedy purposes by telling people exactly what they want to hear. The true servant of Christ preaches only God’s pure Word, beginning with the Law (to convict), sin, and the command to repent and trust Christ alone by faith (Psalms 19:7; Isaiah 58:1; Matthew 3:2; 4:17; Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30; 1 Timothy 1:8-11).

***The true disciple of Jesus is not looking for the next trinket to waste his money on but rather is about His Father’s business of putting that money toward God’s eternal kingdom!

Here’s what the “Prince of Peace” tells His children of all generations:

Matthew 6:

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Trusting God for everything and in everything is what true disciples of Jesus do. They are born again and have been given a new life, eternal life! Jesus Christ is their all consuming “first love.” (Revelation 2:4-5) They live to please the Son of God first and foremost, and not any mere man. They serve the nail-scarred risen Savior and not a local church or movement. They live by God’s Word and empowered by His Spirit like the earliest disciples of Jesus (see book of Acts).

Scarcely can a so-called “church house” be found where God is honored and feared. In fact, in this late hour, such is nearly impossible to find. It is highly recommended that you first turn your whole life over to the LORD in repentance, placing all your faith in Jesus. Then, tell a true Christian friend that you repented and received Christ and let that friend help you get into God’s Word, and get water baptized and ask the LORD to baptize you with His Holy Spirit too (Acts 2:38-39).
