Charges dropped against Ohio pastor who housed homeless people at his church

The body of Christ prayed and exposed the evil doers, the traitor civil servants. Pastor Chris also sued the city. God answered!

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

NEVER underestimate the power of God released through the prayers of His people in the name of Jesus Christ.

Bbilical reminder: Civil mere servants, are ordained by God “for the punishment of evildoers” and not to punish people doing good!

“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.” 1 Peter 2:13-14

Divine judgment fell upon wicked doer “mayor” Carrie Schlade and all other wicked doers involved. Let us be reminded of the consequences for doing harm to the righteous. Jesus warns:

“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 18:10 

Instead of rewarding, praising pastor Chris Avell for housing the homeless who would have died in the cold, demonic “mayor” Carrie Schlade of Bryan, Ohio decided to attack this godly man for his heroic action. May she repent before its too late. For now her eternal soul is dangling over the fires of eternal hell by a spider thread.

Amen all charges were dropped against pastor Chris Avell. Personally I hope pastor Chris gets millions from his lawsuit, especially to fund the ministry he is carrying out for God’s glory.

“mayor” Carrie Schlade is an ungodly witch, a traitor, a child of the devil himself. The LORD Jesus Christ rebuke her and the demons who control her life, in Jesus’ name.

No evil doer escapes divine judgment.

“The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. 16 The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. 17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. 18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. 19 Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. 20 Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.” Psalms 9:15-20 

Look up “bryan ohio city hall” on google maps. Wow. The rebuke reviews for what they did to stop the homeless from being cared for are amazing. They have a 1 star rating which is nearly impossible.

The city of Bryan, Ohio, has dropped all charges against a local pastor who was allowing homeless people to sleep inside his church without the city’s permission.

“Bryan is my home. I am eager to continue to serve God, my community, and the people I love,” pastor Chris Avell said in a statement.

Homelessness in the U.S. hit a record high last year as pandemic aid ran outAvell had faced 18 zoning code violations for turning his church, Dad’s Place, into a quasi-homeless shelter. Those violations were punishable by fines, up to six months in prison, or both.

In January, Dad’s Place filed a federal suit against the city on the grounds of religious discrimination. The church argued that providing food and shelter was a form of religious expression and therefore its ministry is protected by the Constitution.

Earlier this week, Bryan, a city of about 8,600 people located about an hour west of Toledo, dismissed the case against Avell. The church plans to continue to offer temporary lodging to those in need but agreed to work with the city to meet safety codes, according to Dys.

“The city of Bryan appreciates the willingness of Dad’s Place to work with the city to resolve the parties’ differences amicably and to ensure that the services provided by Dad’s Place are delivered in a safe manner,” Mayor Carrie Schlade said in a statement.

Dad’s Place began to offer overnight stays last March, partly in response to the housing shortage in Bryan, according to Jeremy Dys, who represented Avell. Dys is an attorney with First Liberty Institute, a law firm focused on religious liberty cases.

About eight people on average would stay at the church as well as two church volunteers, Dys said. The lodging has been intended for temporary or emergency purposes only.

The city said that last spring, police began to receive an influx of calls over safety concerns at Dad’s Place, including larceny, harassment and disturbing the peace.

Soon, the church also faced zoning code violations because it is in a district that prohibits residential use on the first floor of any building. The city said it warned Avell of the zoning laws in November but the church continued its operations.

Last fall, Bryan officials launched a series of building inspections, which found multiple fire code violations including limited ventilation and inadequate exit areas.

The city said it ultimately pursued criminal charges against Avell because the church was putting people at risk by housing them in a building not up to code. But according to Dys, the building was simply old and the church worked tirelessly to resolve the violations.

“Why is it that the city is currently upset about these code violations?” Dys told NPR in January. “They’re concerned about the safety because they want to cause an issue that would be a problem for the church, and create an opportunity for the city to drive this church out.”

Avell pleaded not guilty in January. His trial was scheduled to begin Friday. His suit against the city and its officials are ongoing, according to Dys. A hearing is set for March 4.
