“And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.” Deuteronomy 7:22
“This is my most favorite podcast of yours. And perhaps one of the first ones I listened to. I was wanting God to move faster in the sanctification process. After listening I realized Let God take it all! I am not in control. The Holy Spirit is! He shows me what needs to be crucified in my heart. It’s not my job to go look for it because I do not know what is in my heart. Only God does! I am only required to obey and take what He shows me to the cross of Christ!! The Lord led me to pour over this scripture this morning. 2 Corinthians 3:18. ‘But we all, with open face beholding as a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from Glory to Glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.’ ‘Open face’ here means not hiding, taking off the veil over our eyes and hearts and seeing ourselves for who we really are before a Holy God. When we look into God’s Holiness, it’s like looking into a mirror and His Holiness exposes our sinful selves. If we are honest and dare to see our real selves against the purity of God, we see how much we are not like Him and need Him to make us into the image of Christ. This is sanctification. Philippians 2:12-13. We need to say ‘No’ to the flesh, crucify it, and allow God to control our lives, not self. Being changed little by little into the Glory of God.” Karen Cochran
God is perfecting that which concerns His beloved people!!! (Psalms 138:8; Philippians 2:12-13, etc.)
We can know that as we are taking the next “step”, the LORD is delighting in us! It is important that the LORD’s people, each of us, always remember that “The STEPS of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” (Psalms 37:23) Notice here that God orders our “steps”, and not our leaps, or jumps or flights. Get the picture? Simply take the next step as you are seeking first His kingdom, putting Christ first, and “Take therefore no thought for the morrow.” – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:33-34) Now, read Psalms 37:23 again and catch this, the truth that we can know that as we are taking the next step, the LORD is delighting in us!
“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4
Two things God desires to do:
- save “all men”, and then to those who are saved…
- to bring them to “the knowledge of the truth” or the full experience of the truth which is sanctification, full victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil
“Little and Little” = Little by Little
God changes us little by little and not all at once and He establishes us in Him, in His peace, love, joy, etc., “little and little.” (Exodus 23:30)
“By LITTLE AND LITTLE I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.” Exodus 23:30
As we abide in Christ, as we fight the good fight of faith, as we work out (not for) our salvation with fear and trembling, Jesus works in us to perfect us, by displacing the evil, the iniquity, and drives our enemies…. Fear, anger, hatred, lust, discontent, ungratefulness, etc., as He possesses more and more the battle field of our hearts and minds. He is establishing in us His praise – no matter what is going on – good or bad! It’s all Him.
“The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.” Psalms 138:8
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
Let’s read our main Bible passage again:
“I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee. 30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.” Exodus 23:29-30
God does not rid us of all our enemies, all that ails us, immediately upon saving us. We are “increased” and thereby the enemy is decreased “little and little” which means little by little. Incremental growth as we diligently serve Him, living by faith daily, as we deny ourselves, take up the cross, and follow Jesus.
This order is important. As God, the initiator, the author and finisher of our faith, our salvation increases, we are blessed to decrease as we worship and comply.
“Fret not” appears 3 times in Psalm 37. And beloved of God, this is His instruction to you – when you begin thinking that your growth in the grace of Christ seems to be miniscule. Do we realize that the LORD of His abiding saints, says that their growth will be incremental, “little and little” or little by little (Exodus 23:29-31).
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4
Concerning the “patience and comfort of the scripture” and the “hope” they bring to our hearts, the Holy Ghost through Paul says:
“These verses remind me of the podcast Little by Little. One of my favorites! That podcast helped me to realize God only sanctifies us in small increments. As He is in charge and we are not. We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). This is not a one time event. But a process so we can one day “be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the son of man” (Luke 21:36) and receive final salvation (Matthew 24:13).” Karen Cochran
This truth should comfort the hearts of every one of Christ’s disciples.
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
The people of God had been saved out of Egypt which depicts our being saved by Christ, the salvation from sin and the world. As we forsake the world and not the LORD….
Then comes sanctification.
The leavening effect of sanctification pushes out the evil, the enemies. The swelling of the truth in us pushes out the evil, replaces it. If at the moment of initial salvation, God just removed all our enemies, then what would fill that vacuum? We must be increased by Him, to grow in the grace of Christ and in proportion to that enlargement is the removing of the evil, the enemies, the conquering of that land of our hearts and lives.
The divine command, requirement to be sanctified, set apart to the LORD, to “come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” is seen here: “Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. 33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.” (Exodus 23:32-33; 2 Corinthians 6:17)
“Exodus 23:30: I see personally that is, that salvation is like taking the promised land. We are to fight daily to grow, and to take the Kingdom of God that belongs to us. Lots of fights with the devils, but if the fight is fought daily, there is progress going to be made. We submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and he flees from us.” Gene Robbins
Believer’s Bible Commentary on Exodus 23:20-33:
“Laws Regarding Conquest (23:20-33)
Here God promised to send . . . an Angel (the Lord Himself) before the Israelites, to lead them to the Promised Land and to drive out the heathen inhabitants. If the Jews refrained from idolatry and obeyed the Lord, He would do great things for them. Regarding the warning against disobedience, Henry writes:
‘We do well to take heed of provoking our protector and benefactor, because if our defence depart from us, and the streams of his goodness be cut off, we are undone. Their land would extend from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines (the Mediterranean Sea) and from the desert (the Negev south of Canaan) to the River (Euphrates). Notice the command to drive . . . out the inhabitants of the land. There were to be no treaties, no idolatry, no intermingling. God had already promised to destroy the wicked Canaanites, but Israel had to cooperate. This enshrines an important spiritual principle: God will give us victory over our enemies (the world, the flesh, and the devil), but He expects us to fight the good fight of faith. Verse 33 finds its counterpart in 2Co_6:14-18. Separation from the world has always been God’s will for His people. Israel’s failure to obey this command led to her downfall. It is still true that ‘evil communications corrupt good manners.'”
Justification is Immediate – Sanctification is Gradual and Ongoing. Our LORD is the Author of both – “the author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2)
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
“Looking unto Jesus” is much more than a one-time or casual acknowledgement of the Son of God. It’s an abiding relationship with Him which always, without fail, produces good fruit. Read John 15.
God requires compliance – true worship, obedience (Matthew 7:21; 25:1-13; John 13-15; 1 John 2:3-6, etc.).
After He saves you, you are not free to leave Him or treat Him… and still be in Heaven. The Great Bridegroom Himself, Jesus, will shut the door on those who do not “endure to the end” with Him (Matthew 10:22; 24:13). Read His parable of the 10 virgins in Matthew 25:1-13.
How does sanctification happen? Notice what Jesus says to those who believed upon Him:
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, IF ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32
Jesus continues… Remaining in the Father’s House …
“Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:34-36
v35 – “the Son abideth ever”, continues, remains in the Father’s house, presence forever but the mere servant is not automatically, permanently kept in the house of God without condition. Those who commit, continue in sin will not remain in the Father’s house. Lucifer is the first sinner on record to be ejected from the Father’s house, His holy presence and then Adam and Eve who were also ushered out of the Father’s presence when they sinned (Luke 10:18; Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Revelation 12:7-9; Genesis 3). Fact: The LORD is “Holy, holy, holy” and forever holds the authority over who remains in His holy house, presence.
v36 Then we are brought into the promise land of victory over sin.
Those who believe the myth of eternal security only embrace it because they want no part of personal responsibility. “Depart from me” will be what they hear from Jesus when they die.
The LORD says He’s only with you as you remain, abide “with him.”
“The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.” 2 Chronicles 15:2
Some who have created a false god in their own wicked imaginations (image), somehow arrogantly believe that those God saves somehow now control Him and what He, the Almighty does with them. Utter foolishness. Anyone who is saved and doesn’t “abide” (continue with, remain in), will be cast into the fires of hell irrevocably (John 15:6).
“It is a faithful saying: For IF we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 IF we suffer, we shall also reign with him: IF we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” 2 Timothy 2:11-13
Notice in the passage above, that God “cannot deny HIMSELF” and yet “IF we deny him, he also WILL DENY Us.” Notice that it doesn’t say He can’t or won’t deny us!!! It actually declares that He “WILL deny us” … “if we deny him.”
While God justifies His saints when He saves them, sanctification transpires and is according to, in proportion to how that justified believer attends to and complies with the LORD instead of self – continues in His Word, knowing and obeying Him (John 15; Romans 6; Ephesians 4:21-32, etc.). The cross is central to this putting off the old man, crucifying the deeds of the body (Luke 9:23-24; Colossians 3:1-17, etc.).
Fasting and prayer is the cross and greatly aids in the putting off of the old man and putting on of the new man (Isaiah 58; Ephesians 4; Colossians 3).
This brother, your brother in Christ, would like to take this opportunity to exhort you to obey God and begin fasting and praying, at least once weekly. Your life will be changed for the glory of Christ Jesus our LORD. – Fasting and Prayer
Your growth in the grace of Christ, and consequent victory over the flesh and devil, will be according as you submit yourself daily to the LORD.
Our LORD’s stated desire is to multiply His grace to each of our lives – for our hearts to be evermore established in His grace (Hebrews 13:9).
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord … But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 1:2; 3:18
“Wow! Little by little..he has followed James 4:6-10 and looked unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! The narrow way, when kept faithfully will inevitably squeeze out all sin, and allow us to experience an even deeper, more intimate relationship with Christ.” Jon Crane
The Cross is Essential in our Growth, our Victory in Christ
“The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.” Exodus 32:6
This is a depiction of the flesh and why it must be ruthlessly crucified, daily (Luke 9:23-24; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:3, etc.).
The flesh, the evil fallen and iniquitous nature, the old man, must be crucified daily or it will rule in place of Christ and will perpetrate its corruption in you and those around you. Romans 6! The cross, the crucified life is the only divine solution. There is no short cut.
Jesus cannot and will not reign in my life unless I lay it down before Him (Luke 14:33).
In all things Divine, Faith is an Imperative
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
“WHERE is your faith?” asks Jesus (Luke 8:25).
What we truly believe will proceed from our lips.
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” 2 Corinthians 4:13
The LORD is monitoring our hearts and listening to what is proceeding from our lips (1 Samuel 16:7; Matthew 12:34, et.).
“Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:” Numbers 14:28
As we submit ourselves to the LORD the iniquities that once control our lives, leading us into sin, will be conquered. The cross.
Like the beloved Jacob, our iniquitous tendencies must cause us to walk with a limp, a crutch of dependence upon Him for He has dealt with them, with you (Genesis 32).
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:9-12
YOUR PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank You that You found and saved me into Your eternal kingdom through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Here and now I thank You dear LORD for continuing the good work You began in me, for working in this your vessel both to will and do of Your good pleasure, and perfecting that which concerns my life with You in Christ. In the name of Jesus, amen.

“Cursed be the Man that Trusteth in Man” [podcast]

A Nuclear Revelation
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” Jeremiah 17:5
“Cursed be the man that trusteth in man” is a powerful verse from the Bible, commonly associated with a specific warning against relying on human strength rather than God.”
So many act like Spurgeon or some other mere man’s writings are on the same level as Holy Scripture. NOT! They prove their idolatry. They are in sin. They glory in mere men and not the LORD! Hell awaits. Jeremiah 17:5; Isaiah 2:22; 1 Corinthians 1:29-31, etc.
God calls us to worship, love, seek, trust, and obey Him as the ultimate authority of our lives in this world.
Another example of this is the idolatry of the demonic fraud CS Lewis!
THIS JUST IN:
“Amen! Amen for Prov 10:22. All glory be to Him!
By the grace of God I discovered last night your website, praise Him, in search for exposure on CS Lewis.
By the grace of God I learnt as a baby believer, 20 years ago, that his teachings are dangerous including that witchcraft book and movie, Narnia. Sadly, so called mature Christians in the UK are considering him a saint, a born again believer.
I sent prayerfully ( as I expected backlashes) to my friend last night, a few links exposing CS Lewis including the photo from your website which is brilliant exposure, praise Him but she is still claiming that he ” was truly a born again” ….. sending me his videos! It’s a principle: I don’t watch, read listen to CS Lewis and many others! The Bible is so rich in teachings, why do I need CS Lewis!? !?
My friend is a mature believer, born again believer for over 60-70 years and she cannot see it!
I had to use the VPN and duckduck search engine to get the website exposing CS Lewis, as in the UK, nothing will come up! Mostly of the Christians are bewitched by Narnia and Lord of the Rings! No wonder the country is in such a state of delusion! May the Lord have mercy!
Many blessings in His Name, V.”
“Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” Isaiah 2:22
Those who look to men, who receive un-biblical counsel instead of testing it against the Word of God, are trusting in mere man and have brought a curse upon themselves (Jeremiah 17:5-6; Acts 17:10-11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17, etc.). Those who look anywhere except to the LORD Himself are idolaters, are committing spiritual adultery, and will without exception depart from Him and be lost (v. 5). Their names “shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters” (v. 13). The phrase “written in the earth” is in contrast to their names being “written in heaven” (Luke 10:20; Hebrews 12:23). Hell is in the bowels of the earth and that’s where every single person who is not looking wholly to the LORD will spend eternity (Revelation 20:11-15).
Let me get this straight, you pretend to be saved and yet run to some foolish sinner to get drugged for lack of peace or ability to sleep or depression. You are completely deceived and God is calling you to repent now. If you knew Him, would you not be trusting Him and not sinful mere men? “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD (Jeremiah 17:5).
You’ve tried the CURSE and it never worked…. Are you ready to let CHRIST make you whole?
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert (spiritually dry, desolate), and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. 11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. 12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. 13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. 14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.” Jeremiah 17:5-14
Psychology/psychobabble, therapy from mere men, sinners…. is a scam, and leaves the victim without hope. Jesus Christ is the only hope for man’s core dilemma—which is sin! ANY person pointing you to a “THE-RAPIST” is demon inspired. They speak against the Word of God and are the child of the devil! See Colossians 2:6-10. SINNERS need the Savior—not some sinner with an indoctrination in the fine of art of applying bandages, never getting to the root. Repent now (Jeremiah 17:9). Jesus alone can make a man whole! (Luke 4:18)
Man’s therapy and psychobabble are laughably insufficient and have never once gotten to the root issue of man’s dilemma which is sin. Jesus says that He “came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).
Drugs and psychobabble are laughable mere band aids to rob unbelievers, gullible dupes of their money.
“Jesus Christ maketh thee whole”
Only One can make you whole—the One who made you and died and rose again for you.
“And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.” Acts 9:34
“Yep that’s me, the woman with the Alabaster box. And that is all I need—my alabaster box and Jesus! No need for meds or to be psycho-analyzed by some quack. One touch from Jesus is all I need! Just as the woman who touched the hem of His garment and was immediately healed! Luke 8: 43-48. One touch is all she needed.” Karen Cochran

Modern Day Cult of Personality Exposed [podcast]

What is the Cult of Personality?
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
Beware when you see any mere man enshrined, basically worshipped by his followers. This is all too common in today’s church world and sometimes it’s very subtle. When people begin putting what a mere man says above what God says in His Word, when they quote him instead of the Bible, you know you have a cult.
One source notes:
“A cult of personality, or a cult of the leader, is the result of an effort to create an idealized and heroic image of an admirable leader, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.”‘
CS Lewis has a cult following today, 100%. I’ve encountered it first hand. These people don’t care what you show them as far as the blatant falsehoods he spoke, and have soul tied their affections to him and will defend him no matter what.
A quick search on “what CS Lewis said about the Catholic church”…
“As an Anglican, C.S. Lewis shared many beliefs with the Catholic Church, including the Real Presence in the Eucharist, the necessity of confession, and a belief in Purgatory. However, he explicitly rejected papal authority, the concept of papal infallibility, and certain Marian doctrines.
Shared Beliefs
Lewis held a deeply sacramental and traditional view of Christianity, which aligned closely with Catholic theology:
The Sacraments: He regularly went to confession to a priest and viewed the Eucharist as central to the faith.
The Afterlife: He famously argued that “our souls demand Purgatory”, writing that we would naturally want to be cleansed of our sins before standing in God’s presence.
Devotion: He had a high view of saints and appreciated traditional liturgical practices.”
The same is true for modern day celebrities such as Candace Owens. On a recent live broadcast where she interviewed a man, he showed her live on air, that she was wrong about several things and kindly asked her to apologize several times. Regrettably, Candace was unwilling to apologize, and most of her cult followers backed her up, cheered her on.
She was called to account for false info and didn’t apologize when asked to.
Her followers cheered her on, never stopping to question things.
Their hearts are set on her not Christ (Colossians 3:1-4).
No matter WHAT she says, they believe it.
Wow.
Jesus says:
“I receive not honour from men. … 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” John 5:41, 44
By saying this, Jesus condemns putting trust in any mere man.
Jesus makes it clear here that anyone who puts their heart affections in a mere man or woman, is unable to believe on the LORD Jesus Christ for eternal life.
“And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. 7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:6-7
“4:6 He first explains that in speaking about the Christian ministry and the tendency to follow human leaders (3:5-4:5), he used himself and Apollos as the examples. The Corinthians were not forming parties around Paul and Apollos alone, but also around other men who were then in their church. However, out of a sense of Christian courtesy and delicacy, Paul transferred the entire matter to himself and Apollos so that by their example the saints would learn not to have exaggerated opinions of their leaders or to gratify their pride by the formation of parties. He wanted the saints to evaluate everything and everyone by the Scriptures.
4:7 If one Christian teacher is more gifted than another, it is because God made him so. Everything he has, he received from the Lord. In fact it is true of all of us that everything we have has been given to us by God. That being the case, why should we be proud or puffed up? Our talents and gifts are not the result of our own cleverness.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
“I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.” John 8:37
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” Jeremiah 17:5
“Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” Isaiah 2:22
“LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. 5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.” Psalms 139:4-5
“A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.” Jeremiah 17:12
“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16
1 Corinthians 1:29-2:5
“that no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
“2:5 Paul knew that there was the utmost danger that his hearers might be interested in himself or in his own personality rather than in the living Lord. Conscious of his own inability to bless or to save, he determined that he would lead men to trust in God alone rather than in the wisdom of men. All who proclaim the gospel message or teach the word of God should make this their constant aim.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
“Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.” Psalms 17:2
“Sentence” here means verdict.
Prayer of Repentance to be Restored to the LORD: Holy Father, in the name of Jesus Christ and by His precious blood He shed to make me one with You, I come to you—in my sinful state. LORD, I openly acknowledge that I have departed from You and sinfully rebelled against You in the sin of idolatry. Right this moment, if never before, I call upon You, Holy Father, asking You to forgive my sins, to change my life, to break me to the core of my being. I fully believe that Jesus Christ is God Almighty, that He came in the flesh, lived a sinless life as the very only begotten Son of God, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, was buried, rose again from the dead, and is soon going to return! “Hid with Christ in God”
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4
The safest place in the universe is in the cross of Christ: “your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).
Our place of protection is in the love walk with the LORD where we express our love for Him in obedience to Him. Jesus commanded that we deny self, take up the cross daily and follow Him. We are full of troubles and so it should be easy to relinquish all to Him!
“Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” Job 14:1
In Christ alone is our rest from the toil of this life.
“Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.” Psalms 17:4
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25
Prayer: Father, in Jesus’ name, please bring me to the end of sinful self. Rebuke and remove the foolishness of this heart! I love You LORD and thank You that I am crucified with You today and that You are raising up this life for Your glory alone. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
