“See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10

God has a plan to remove that which does not belong in you and to establish what does.

  • “to root out” (destructive)
  • “to pull down” (destructive)
  • “to destroy” (destructive)
  • “to throw down” (destructive)
  • “to build” (constructive)
  • “to plant” (constructive)

When Jesus cleansed the temple, after rooting out the evil, He then installed the purity, prayer, praise, and power (Matthew 21; John 2).

God has His order. One thing comes before the other.

Those who submit to death and burial, stripping, will be blessed to be prepared, raised up…..

Root out, pull downhigh and low, God wants to rid us of the things that do not glorify Him.

Two-thirdsDeath and burial. Then resurrection. As is the case throughout Holy Scripture, the cross is represented here… and then the resurrection. The divine cross economy is represented here. First we must be dead and buried and then the resurrection. In Romans 6, He breaks us down before building us up.

I must be dead and buried with Christ in order to then be raised up by Christ.

“Our old man needs to be demolished! It cannot be reformed! Its whole foundation is rotten! God says it must be plucked up by the roots. Pulled down, destroyed, thrown out! Then He comes in and builds a new foundation. (1 Corinthians 3:11, Col 2:7). Otherwise our foundation is made of only sinking sand! And great will be the fall of it (Matthew 7:24-27).” Karen Cochran

The Cross Economy Pattern Seen throughout Holy Scripture

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

“Tried” – death and burial

“come forth as gold” – resurrection

God has to do a work in us before He can do a work through us.

Joseph

David

Isaiah

Peter

Paul

John

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.  21  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. 22  Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:19-22

Jesus had to first be crucified on the cross and buried before the Father raised Him up in resurrection victory. The resurrection is God’s answer to death and burial. There first must be a death and burial before there can be a resurrection.

“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:6-10

Read Psalms 51 prayerfully.

WHEN the Word is flowing in and through your life like a river, it will cleanse like a river! A full-scale embarking on studying and walking in God’s Word will cleanse you and establish you in divine truth!

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:2-3

Dabbling in the Word is like a mere trickle in contrast to devouring His Word daily and having His fountain of living waters flowing into your vessel, your life.

“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” Psalms 92:13

God is working in the hearts and lives of each of His people and He requires and expects our personal participation. He has to root things out of us, every one of us, before He begins building and planting in us. Get to know Jeremiah 1:10 closely. “LORD change me” is a great daily prayer.

We didn’t make up the terms. GOD did. We repent and obey or perish. Be engaged in His plan to cleanse you.

Those who are submitted to God truly are bowing down in death and burial and about the Father’s business.

“All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:8-14

If you are not about the Father’s business of the Great Commission, it’s because you are not choosing to be truly submitted to the LORD.

Prayer: Holy Father, I ask You to change me. Do Your deeper work in my life. Here this moment I lay my life in Your hands. Have Your way dear LORD. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Daily Prayer Guide [podcast]

Daily Prayer Guide

PRAYING EVERY DAY FOR:

THE BODY OF CHRIST

Here’s some of the biblical truth I personally pray daily for those disciples of Jesus on my prayer list:

  • That God would take away the stony places in our hearts and grant us hearts of flesh – pliable, humble, teachable, worshipful, obedient (Ezekiel 36:24-26).
  • That the LORD would unite our hearts to fear His holy name (Psalms 86:11).
  • That He would bless us to stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12).
  • That the LORD would fill us with His love and cause that love to be demonstrated through our lives daily in our interactions with others (1 Corinthians 13).
  • That He would baptize and fill us with His Holy Spirit and use us powerfully for His eternal glory (Acts 1:8; 2:4, etc.).
  • That God would quicken and give us His wisdom concerning fruitful stewardship of His resources He’s entrusted us with (Matthew 25:14-30, etc.).
  • That we would be blessed to know Him in that oneness and abiding relationship He spoke of and prayed in John 15 and 17 – bearing fruit to His glory.
  • That the LORD would teach us and bring us to be consummate soul winners as His ambassadors (Proverbs 11:30; 2 Corinthians 5:20).
  • The our LORD will multiply His grace, love, and wisdom in our hearts (2 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:5; James 1:5).
  • That God would increase our faith (Luke 17:5).

OUR LEADERS:

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.” 1 Timothy 2:1-3

OUR CITY:

“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” Jeremiah 29:7

GOD’S KINGDOM TO COME ON EARTH:

(Both today and the Millennial Kingdom when Jesus Christ reigns on earth for 1,000 years)

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

GOD TO SEND LABOURERS INTO HIS HARVEST:

“Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38

THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM:

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Psalm 122:6

—— • ——

Also, Jesus gave His disciples a model for daily prayer which is an excellent starting place for each day.

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13

Jesus will Judge Us by Our Works

By Glenn and Dezi Langohr

JESUS — JUDGED BY WORKS

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father… Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied…? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21–23

Our works clearly reveal what is in our hearts! Fruit.

“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” Matthew 16:27

“…all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” John 5:28–29

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: *the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” John 12:48

PAUL — CONTINUE IN GOOD WORKS

“Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life.” Romans 2:6–7

“For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” Romans 2:13

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

“…they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.” Titus 3:8

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10

“…for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing…” Galatians 6:7–9

JAMES — FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17

“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” James 2:24

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:26

PETER — BE HOLY, DO GOOD WORKS

“And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.” 1 Peter 1:17

“Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:12

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.” 2 Peter 1:10

 SUMMARY

Jesus said He will judge every man by their works (Matthew 16:27, John 5:29).

Paul taught that eternal life is for those who continue in well doing (Romans 2:7, Titus 3:8).

James declared faith without works is dead (James 2:17, 24).

Peter warned God will judge every man’s work (1 Peter 1:17) and exhorted us to abound in good works.

God’s people are called to endure to the end with living faith proven by works of obedience, love, and holiness.

To Walk in Love is of the Highest Priority to the LORD [podcast]

If we die without His love we will not be with Him above.

Jesus loved us and all His enemies, even under to death – for our, for the redemption of the world.

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8  But God commendeth (displayed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

Our promised we, His people, will be persecuted as He was (John 7:7; 15:20, etc.).

“The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. ” John 7:7

“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” John 15:20

God commands that we walk in His love toward all men, including those who hate and persecute us.

“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and
hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice
to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” Ephesians 5:2

To “walk in love” is of the highest priority to the LORD. Study
this important topic, asking God to fill you with His love and
all the corresponding fruit thereof (Galatians 5:22-23). How
can those who claim to know He who “is love” not walk in
His love? (See 1 John 4:8, 16.)

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of
angels, and have not charity, I am become as
sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I
have the gift of prophecy, and understand all
mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all
faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have
not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all
my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my
body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth
me nothing. 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not
puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly,
seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,
thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but
rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth
all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8
Charity never faileth.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-8

“Walking in God’s love requires the cross life. This takes dying to your flesh (Gal 2:20). Because our wicked flesh wants revenge. And will rise up in anger. Believing their attacks are personally against us. But when you are walking in the Spirit of God, Jesus will fill you with love for them. By loving them instead of looking for revenge we are showing them the character of Christ. We don’t need to retaliate. Because we see it is the Jesus in you they are attacking. And we are to rejoice in that! Matthew 5:12.  I am beginning to see this manifest in my life. I don’t take their attacks personally anymore. Hallelujah. That can be debilitating in your walk with Jesus. And just keep you in anger! But through the cross you have victory and see them through the eyes of Jesus! And most importantly bless and pray for them!” Karen Cochran

Prayer: Father, You are love. Please fill my heart and life with Your love—to pour on others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
