Christ or Calvin? You Must Choose

Demon possessed maniac John Calvin wrote the following:

“Chapter Four – Unbiblical Beliefs and Failures of John Calvin
Calvin on the Bible: In 1536 Calvin wrote: ‘The Bible is a knotty, difficult text, whose interpretation demands extensive knowledge. If brought into contact with it unceremoniously, many minds are upset and seized with confusion. The Bible is too old a text in too new a world.’

God willed that man sin. Calvin wrote ‘God, in a secret and marvellous way, justly wills, the things which men unjustly do.’ . . . ‘Although God and the devil will the same thing: they do so in an utterly different manner.’ He said that God did not will that all men be saved saying, ‘. . .that few receive the Gospel; we must fully conclude, that the cause is the will of God; and that the outward sound of that Gospel strikes the ear in vain, until God is pleased to touch, by it, the heart within.'”

Of John Calvin (1509-1564) we read:

“He (Calvin) was a principal figure in the development of the system of Christian theology later called Calvinism, including its doctrines of predestination and of God’s absolute sovereignty in the salvation of the human soul from death and eternal damnation.” Wikipedia

“John Calvin (l. 1509-1564) was a French Reformer, pastor, and theologian considered among the greatest of the Protestant Reformation along with Martin Luther (l. 1483-1546) and Huldrych Zwingli (l. 1484-1531). Calvin synthesized the differing views of Protestant sects with his own in his Institutes of the Christian Religion, regarded as one of the most important works of Protestant theology.” World History

One of the key biblical words, doctrines perverted by Calvinism is “predestination” as if God preordained in eternity past that certain people were ordained to go to Hell and certain, even if against their own will, are ordained to go to Heaven. Calvinism heretically denies free will.

Let’s ask a simple question of the crafter of the system of Calvinism: Did God violate His own Word by preordaining John Calvin to lie against Him profusely? Did the Almighty sovereignly predestine, predetermine that John Calvin murder in cold blood more than 60 people who disagreed with him? Historical fact.

Did Jesus or His apostles further the kingdom of God by punishing much less murdering people? Never.

We can only and soundly conclude that the “god” of John Calvin and Calvinism is Satan and not Jehovah.

John Calvin was a fraud. His most prominent work is titled “Institutes of the Christian Religion.” Wait, what? Read that title again.

So does John Calvin or any mere sinful man or men decide what Christianity is, or did God decide what His kingdom is, is not, and what it consists of?

“Let God be true and every man a liar.” Romans 3:4

So are we beginning to see why John Calvin was and is called “The Pope of Geneva”? He ruled with an iron, murderous fist. There is no testimony of John Calvin ever being born again. The same seems true for his followers today. Jesus taught us that when a man is born again he is led by the Holy Spirit into all truth (John 3:1-8).

“When the carnal mind tries to understand the things of God, which can only be found in the Spirit, all manner of wickedness and error will be produced vainly in the puffed up pride of man void of understanding. This is what I perceive when reading the writings of John Calvin.” Jon Crane

Just look at the titles of his works, including his book titled “Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life.” Think. Read that again. Something seem off/wrong about that title?

The only “Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life” is the WORD of God itself, not the “gospel,” the “private interpretation” of any mere, sinful man or men. This title, of a writing authored by a demon possessed murderer, is meant to capture the gullible, to lead them to believe they need his book to understand God’s Book of all books. The written Word, the living Word, and the Holy Spirit is our divine Teacher. – “Thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105

How God gave His Word – How we received His Word

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:19-21

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” 1 John 2:27

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” John 16:13-14

Think about the word “Reformation.” Wait. WHAT needed to be RE-formed since we already had the Bible, God’s Word? You see, the so-called “reformation” was the attempt to escape the cult of Catholicism and yet the reformation resulted in heresy just as poisonous as Catholicism.

We must go back further than the “reformation.” Nothing needed to be RE-formed…. because we have a Bible which is the final divine authority (Mark 13:31; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21, etc.). Many of the “reformers” were absolute heretics such as the demon possessed murderous maniac, John Calvin.

Church History is NOT Divinely Inspired

This is why this disciple suggests that Christians, followers of Jesus today spend little or no time on church history. Church history is not divinely inspired and in fact in many or most cases is rebellion. This is clear in the lives of the reformers such as Calvin, Martin Luther, etc.

“And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;” Ephesians 2:20

What is “the foundation of the apostles and prophets” referring to? We received the written Word by who? – by “the apostles and prophets.” The written Word is our “foundation” and not the words, stories, doctrines, or history of men who came thereafter. Now do we see why so many are confused, are not soundly grounded in the cardinal doctrines of the original Gospel, straight from God’s Word?

“And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets – As the foundation sustains the building, so the word of God, declared by the apostles and prophets, sustains the faith of all believers. God laid the foundation by them; but Christ himself is the chief corner – stone of the foundation. Elsewhere he is termed the foundation itself, 1Co 3:11.” John Wesley

“Jesus Christ” alone is “the chief corner stone” and not John Calvin or any other reformer or mere sinful man.

“Having for foundation – the ground plan, specification, and principle on which it was builded, the doctrine taught by the prophets in the Old Testament, and the apostles in the New. Jesus Christ being that corner stone, or ακρογωνιαιος, the chief angle or foundation corner stone, the connecting medium by which both Jews and Gentiles were united in the same building. Elsewhere Jesus Christ is termed the foundation stone. Behold I lay in Zion a foundation stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, Isa_28:16; but the meaning is the same in all the places where these terms, foundation and corner stone, occur; for in laying the foundation of a building, a large stone is generally placed at one of the angles or corners, which serves to form a part of the two walls which meet in that angle. When, therefore, the apostle says that Jesus Christ is the chief corner stone, it means such a foundation stone as that above mentioned.” Adam Clarke

Sound Doctrine is the Divinely-Inspired Holy Scriptures and Nothing Else. The words of God come from God, not men.

“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:15-17

Since we already had the written Word of God itself, which is perfect divine doctrine, what really needed to be RE-formed or formed again? Nothing. Man cannot fix man’s problems and so when the protestants sought to fix the lies of Catholicism, they perpetrated their own lies, deceptions, and false doctrines.

Why not just read God’s Word for yourself? Sadly, many seek out “reformation” ministries and resources and so their image/images of the LORD are convoluted. Their imagination is a poisoned pond. The only way to cast down, to rewrite the constitution of our hearts is by diligently pouring over pure Holy Scripture daily, continually. See 2 Corinthians 10:3-6; John 17:17. The words of God Himself are the very “thoughts of his heart” that He gave to us in tangible format. May the LORD be praised!

The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.” Psalms 33:11

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17

Christ Jesus Himself is the Grand Subject of all of Holy Scripture. This is the only well of pure living water He gave us to drink from, to learn of Him (John 5:39-40).

There are no shortcuts to reading the Word itself. Memorize 2 Timothy 2:15.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking You to teach me Your ways, to teach my heart of Thee. Please expose and rid my imagination, thoughts, heart, and mind of all misrepresentations of You. Bless this heart, soul, this vessel’s constitution to be Your pure Holy Word and nothing else. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Good Shepherd and His True Sheep [podcast]

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant …” Hebrews 13:20

“To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.” John 10:3

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:27-29

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:1-13

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” Luke 9:23-25

Eating the Fat, and Drinking the Sweet! [podcast]

Mourning Trumps Merriment in Christ’s Kingdom

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I’d like to walk in Your bless-ed joy, filling my life to overflowing, no matter what’s transpiring. LORD, I ask You to do Your deeper work in my heart, in my life. Please set apart my life to truly glorify You, being full of the fruits of Your righteousness. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Everyone desires the joy of the LORD, right? Yes, yet only those who are willing to devour His Word – to get it into their hearts and keep it flowing into their hearts, will experience that great joy of the LORD which is our strength! In context, the joy of the LORD is the strength of those who read it, hear it, embrace it, adhere to it, and keep it flowing into their mind and heart daily! (Nehemiah 8:8, 10)

“So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly (directly), and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. … 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:8, 10

After they had feasted on God’s Word, the elders of Israel said to them: You are now full of the Word. Now “Go your way”, that is, go home and be blessed to “send portions” of the bounty of the LORD you’ve been filled with today to overflowing. “Freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8) Let your cup run over and bless others! Let your light shine into others, may your cup run over onto others, to bless them with the bountiful blessings of the LORD you have received.

We have to eat the fat and drink the sweet of the Word of God to be filled with the joy of the LORD which is our strength!

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16

Nourishing the Body of Christ

“If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.” 1 Timothy 4:6

DO people know they can find the rich treasures of God’s Word when they walk into your life, when they visit your social media page? (Colossians 3:16) Will they be “nourished” by the milk and meat of God’s bless-ed Word when they are graced to be in your company?

“There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise.” Proverbs 21:20

Holy Father, we ask You in the name of Jesus to make us happy in Jesus as You’ve forgiven and freed us from our sin and so of all people on Your earth, only Your people can be truly happy in Thee dear LORD. Please bless each of Your beloved saints to be anointed for the death and burial of the self life and raised up in Your blessed resurrection grace and joy. In Jesus’ name let it be dear LORD.

“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” John 15:11

Pride and False Prophets [podcast]

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”  Matthew 24:11

What’s the difference between true and false servants of the LORD?

Jeremiah 23 is essential concerning recognizing the “MANY false prophets” which Jesus foretold would “deceive MANY” in this late hour before His return (Matthew 24:11).

True servants of the LORD stand in the counsel, the WORD of the LORD and not in the evil imaginations, dreams, or visions of their own wicked hearts.

Jeremiah 23
“Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17  They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
18  For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
19  Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
20  The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
21  I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22  But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.”

ARE YOU in God’s Word daily or have you backslidden? It’s either one or the other.

True servants of the LORD, as was the case with Paul and Timothy, will get YOU into God’s Word for yourself…

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

So both the LORD’s apostle Paul and the apostle Peter instructed believers to get into the Word of God for themselves – to “study” and to “desire” it. Any man pretending to represent Christ and not do this very thing repeatedly is a bona fide wolf in sheep’s clothing, a devil.

Imagine parents who continued to feed their infant and never taught that baby to pick up the spoon and feed themself….  so that child would perpetually be dependent upon someone else feeding them…. in the natural this is unheard of, yet it’s rampant in that which claims to be Christ’s “church.”

Read Jeremiah 23.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”  James 4:6-10

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

Pride vs Humility

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18) True humility before God first, then men, always wins – “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” (James 4:10)
