Those who have control issues simply have not given the control of their own lives over to the LORD and therefore operate in the witchcraft of controlling others – something that God forbids as they usurp HIS place in the lives of others. True repentance needed and to denounce the sin of self-idolatry, spiritual adultery, and witchcraft.

Undue control over others is “witchcraft” which is a soul damning sin (Galatians 5:19-21). God has not called us to control others or even seek to but rather allow them the freedom to grow in His grace as they work out their own salvation as God works in them (Philippians 2:12-13)…… Prayer is the greatest divine weapon whereby God makes us free from all control …. Personally, the last time I checked, I am a full-time job to keep crucified (1 Corinthians 9:27)…. so why O why would there be time to encroach upon others, to be unduly preoccupied with someone else’s walk… . GOD is able saints!

The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:1-7

God Grants all of His Children Liberty in Non-Essentials

We are SAVED by grace and SANCTIFIED by His grace! (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 6:14; 2 Peter 3:18, etc.).

Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.” Romans 14:4

Beware of those who infringe upon the God-given personal liberty granted to each individual born again believer (in non-essentials). Read Romans 14 and 15 to discover how the LORD instructs His people concerning judging other believers in non-essentials.

God is going to be working in the hearts and lives of His people till we are home with Him forever (John 15; Philippians 2:12-13; Psalms 138:8).

In Galatians 5:19-21 the apostle lists 17 soul damning sins. One of them is “witchcraft” which involves seeking to control another life other than your own. This is a soul worthy of eternal damnation. Oh and we are never to add to this list or that which is specifically named in Scripture as a sin against God.

Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.”  2 Corinthians 1:24

Paul and those who ministered with him viewed their ministry calling as helping the joy in Christ of other saints – not usurping Christ’s place and exercising “dominion” over them.

Discerning Witchcraft in Leaders

“Witchcraft” is a Bible word and it has no bounds (Galatians 5:19-21).

“Witchcraft” or undue control of others, is found in the world and in the church world. One example is: The Galatians saints were “bewitched” by false leaders (judaizers) and brought into false doctrine – brought back under the law (Galatians 3:1).

Paul told them this was “another gospel,” and that those preaching it were “accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-9) The apostle of Jesus then called them to get back in the Spirit, in the cross of Christ (Galatians 3:3). “Witchcraft” is a work of the flesh, not of the Holy Spirit, and is a soul-damning sin listed in Galatians 5:19-21. “Witchcraft” occurs when a person seeks to control another person – because they themselves are not giving control over to Christ in their own daily life. The person operating in control/witchcraft is not crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20). The Bible forbids seeking out witches, warlocks, etc. There is no such thing as a born again Christian who seeks Satan’s witches or warlocks for direction of any kind. Such is absolutely spiritual adultery. God will judge. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3)

“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; 16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.” Exodus 34:14-16

Even the sending out prayers and breaking this and that over people can be witchcraft….. much of what is called “spiritual warfare” today in the apostate modern church is actually “spiritual witchcraft.” God will not deliver any person who will not turn their heart toward Him in real repentance (2 Corinthians 3:14-16; James 4:7). We should simply ask God in Jesus’ name and trust Him to do things and stay clear of adding to that simple Scriptural prescription. “Let your requests be made know unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)

Laboring Fervently for Christ’s Body [podcast]

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. 13  For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.” Colossians 4:12-13

One source notes:

“Epaphras’ prayer is a powerful New Testament model of intercession found in Colossians 4:12. As the founder of the church in Colossae, Epaphras is described by the Apostle Paul as ‘wrestling’ or ‘laboring earnestly’ in prayer so that his congregation would stand mature, firm, and fully assured in the will of God.”

Jesus Heals the Paralytic Man who was Dropped Down to Him from the Roof

Mark 2

“1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

2  And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

3  And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

4  And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

5  When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

6  But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

7  Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

8  And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

9  Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

10  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

11  I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

12  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.” Mark 2:1-12

Abiding Under the Shadow of the Almighty [podcast]

Lord, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart:  Jeremiah 15:15-16

Dwelling “in the secret place of the most High”

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalms 91:1-2

“In the secret place of the Most High – Spoken probably in reference to the Holy of holies. He who enters legitimately there shall be covered with the cloud of God’s glory – the protection of the all-sufficient God. This was the privilege of the high priest only, under the law: but under the new covenant all believers in Christ have boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus; and those who thus enter are safe from every evil.” Adam Clarke

“[Psalms] 91:1, 2 Jesus is the One who in a preeminent way dwelt in the secret place of the Most High, and abode under the shadow of the Almighty. There never was a life like His. He lived in absolute, unbroken fellowship with God, His Father. He never acted in self-will but did only those things that the Father directed. Though He was perfect God, He was also perfect Man, and He lived His life on earth in utter and complete dependence on God. Without equivocation He could look up and say, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
