The One Thing God Requires us to do before He can Use us Powerfully [podcast]
Does the LORD Desire to Use Us? Yes. Who will He use?
“Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5
Priority – get your own life right. God cannot use us to help others until we do.
It’s not that God doesn’t want to use us, yet first He requires us to get our own lives right with Him.
“But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?” Job 19:28
Isn’t the LORD saying to us: “Get your own life right first so I can use you to mercifully help others to grow in His grace”?
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:1-2
Scriptures to Memorize
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
“Let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.” Zechariah 7:10b
“For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” James 2:13
” For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1:20
As Isaiah discovered, when we seek and see a mere glimpse of the Almighty, we will be smitten at how very vile we are in light of Him.
“One glimpse at the glory and holiness of God would cause us all to fall down on our faces in utter horror at our vile, wretched and sinful selves and cry out as Isaiah did, ‘Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts’ (Isaiah 6:5).” Karen Cochran
YOUR PRAYER: Holy Father, please forgive all of the pride, strife, deceit, and self-idolatry of my heart and life. You have been so very merciful with this wretch and I thank You LORD for Your saving grace in Christ. Please cleanse me afresh by Thy precious blood dear LORD Jesus and teach me that no one on this planet needs You and Your mercy more than I do. Please break and grant me an heart of flesh. Prepare and use me LORD. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
