The Lure of Adultery
BOMBARDED WITH IMAGES, ENTICEMENTS, AND ADVERTISEMENTS FOR ADULTERY!
Marriage is Sacred in the Eyes of a Holy God
The joy of sex has context. When removed from that context, great danger occurs.
Context. Context. Context!
To have sex outside of the context in which our Maker requires it to be, is like a man who tries to row a boat on dry land. He’s going no where. And those doing ANY kind of sex outside of the marriage between 1 man and 1 woman are going nowhere except eternal hell. Repent now and follow Jesus before it’s too late.
Sex is of divine design and for 1 man and 1 woman in their own privacy. Without exception, every fornicator, adulterer is going to the lake of fire irrevocably (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Revelation 21:8, etc.).
The striking details of the danger that ensues the sin of adultery is captured in Proverbs 6:
“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. 27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? 28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? 29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent. 30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; 31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house. 32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. 33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. 34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. 35 He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.” Proverbs 6:23-35
When fire is contained in the context of a fireplace, it blesses the house with warmth. When that fire is allowed to escape the context of the fireplace, it burns down the house.
“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Exodus 20:14
This soul damning sin is rampant among sinful men as it was in the days of Israel’s rebellion.
“They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed (lusted) after his neighbour’s wife.” Jeremiah 5:8
When a husband alienates the affections of his heart away from his own wife, toward any other female, he’s committing adultery. The same is true for the married woman who flirts with another man.
Note: It doesn’t take a married person to commit what Jesus calls adultery in Matthew 5:28.
All adultery is fornication but all fornication is not adultery. There are many forms of fornication. All sexual sin comes under the name, the heading of fornication. Adultery is only one form of fornication.
Adultery is first a spiritual departing from faithfulness to God Himself. No person commits physical adultery before he first departs from Christ in his heart.
Adultery begins in the heart. Spiritual adultery is when one goes a whoring from God. They cease seeking and putting God first. They no longer seek Jesus as their “first love.” (Revelation 2:4-5)
The term “a whoring” appears a whopping 43 times in God’s Word and depicts spiritual adultery which precedes physical adultery, all fornication. Here’s but a taste:
“For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.” Psalms 72:37
“Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.” Psalms 106:39
Revelation uses the word “fornication” 12 times.
“For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.” Revelation 19:2
Adultery is fornication and brings a very severe reaping, price. The wages of sin is still death saints! (Romans 6:23) God’s grace didn’t change His definition of sin nor alter His divine attributes. He always has been, is still, and will forever be “Holy, holy, holy.” (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8)
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.” James 1:13-16
The devil and fallen flesh, which must be daily crucified, entices us to sin will never warn of the dire consequences or that your eternal soul is at stake. Any soothing voice in this mix is straight from he who originally and continually whispers “ye shall NOT surely die.” (Genesis 2:17; 3:4)
“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Hebrews 13:4
The little “eternal security” or “once saved always saved” fairy tale won’t hold water on Judgment Day. Hell awaits all fornicators, adulterers. Eternal Security Busted and Exposed as a Doctrine of Devils
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; ADULTERY, FORNICATION, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that THEY WHICH DO SUCH THINGS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” Galatians 5:19-21
