Full Counsel Revelation of the King of all Kings
What False Teachers Won’t Tell You
The apostle Paul declared to the Ephesian “overseers” the full “counsel of God,” and for “three years ceased not to WARN every one night and day with tears” (Acts 20:28-32). He was intense with holy jealousy for their continued spiritual welfare. The inspired and vigilant apostle prophetically charged these leaders to “watch,” because “grievous wolves” FROM WITHIN were going to “arise” and distort the original Gospel. This warning is in effect for the New Testament period, that is, until Jesus Christ returns. As the only antidote to doctrines of devils and deceivers, Paul committed the Ephesian elders to “the word” (Acts 20:32).
Jesus told religious leaders that the proof of their relationship with God was their adherence to His words (Jn. 7:16-19; 8:47; 18:37; Is. 8:20). The apostle whom Jesus loved had no greater joy than when those he was overseeing walked in God’s truth (3 John 4). Tragically though, the heart of God revealed in His written Word, is rather foreign to many leaders in the Body of Christ today. They have consequently been deceived in their hearts, and misleading in their teachings. Because they do not possess the fear of God, these blinded men are not obeying God’s commands to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God,” “Preach the word…” and to “Feed the church of God” (2 Tim. 2:15; 4:2; Acts 20:28). They have omitted to give themselves “continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word” and are therefore blinded (Acts 6:4; Ps. 119:105). As was foretold by Amos the prophet, this failure has caused “A famine in the land…of hearing the words of the Lord” (Amos 8:11).
While congregating, countless believers are placed on an involuntarily truth-fast because of the folly of many leaders. Today, conditions are as they were in the days of Hosea the prophet:
“For the Lord hath a controversy (dispute) with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land…My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children (people; future).” Hosea 4:1, 6
The gross failure in the personal lives of many of our shepherds has turned them over to deceiving spirits which have blown various winds of error into their destitute vessels. Tragically, these blinded leaders have misplaced loyalties and teachings. What is transpiring in epidemic proportion in Christendom under the leadership of morally spineless pastors is frightening. Divine substance is absent from their lives. Many of them are not strengthened by God’s Spirit and Word (Eph. 3:16,20). Their empty messages and lack of spiritual power are telling! Regrettably, only a few are truly crucified with Christ, thus living in resurrection power. In the absence of God’s truth, error is afforded ample place. Because many have forsaken the Word of God and prayer, they have been overtaken by falsehood. They have “departed from the faith.” By their neglect they have become dwelling places for “doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1).
The superior, vast glory of the Son of God is captured well by Phillip Schaff when he writes:
“And yet this Jesus of Nazareth, without money and arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mohammed, and Napoleon; without science and learning, He shed more light on things human and divine than all philosophers and scholars combined; without the eloquence of schools, He spoke such words of life as were never spoken before or since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of any orator or poet; without writing a single line, He set more pens in motion, and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, learned volumes, works of art, and sweet songs of praise, than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times. Born in a manger, and crucified as a malefactor, He now controls the destinies of the civilized world, and rules a spiritual empire which embraces one-third of the inhabitants of the globe. There never was in this world a life so unpretending, modest, and lowly in its outward form and condition, and yet producing such extraordinary effects upon all ages, nations, and classes of men. The annals of history furnish no other example of such complete and astounding success, in spite of the absence of those material, social, literary, and artistic powers and influences which are indispensable to success for a mere man. Christ stands, in this respect also, solitary and alone among all the heroes of history, and presents to us an insolvable problem, unless we admit Him to be more than man, even the eternal … God.” Phillip Schaff, The Person of Christ, p. 40-41
Embarking on the study of this precious, divine Savior with whom we have to do, is by far the most important undertaking of the disciple. In fact, as our LORD Jesus inferred, any person led by the Holy Spirit, will come to this truth – “… he (the Holy Spirit) will guide you into all truth … He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you” (John 16:13-14).
On the ministry site, the category titled “Christology” contains engaging biblical truth concerning the marvelous, matchless Son of God. It is clearly the most important category on the ministry site and most importantly, in God’s Word. If in all our getting and even the study of Scripture, we miss this humble, lowly Lamb, the soon to return King of all kings, we have missed all! Whatever you do, study Christ and allow Him to build in you His revelation of who He is. As we seek and see His face, the veil that darkens our understanding shall be rolled back and Christ shall begin to appear on center stage of our hearts (2 Corinthians 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:19-21). No life that experiences the Christ, the Son of the living God, can be unchanged.
We will know when maturity is beginning to take place in our lives when we cease coming to the LORD only for what He can do for us and begin seeking to “know him,” which is the very chief purpose and reason for which He created us (John 17:3; Philippians 3:10).
If you were asked to give just 3 verses that prove that Jesus Christ is divine, would you be able to produce and quote those verses and references? If not, your knowledge of Christ is deficient beloved. Seek Him. Study Him. Please allow me to encourage you to go through every post on this category – not all at once, yet perhaps methodically. Your knowledge and study of Christ will be vastly increased, establishing your life in Him. | Christology (the study of Christ)
JESUS CHRIST IS THE WORD OF THE FATHER WHOM HE SENT IN THE FULNESS OF TIME, PERFECTLY ACCORDING TO THE HUNDREDS OF PROPHECIES WHICH PRECEDED HIM, AND FOR HIS PEOPLE (JOHN 1: REVELATION 19:3, ETC.).
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; ” 1 John 1:1
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7
“Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.” Revelation 1:2
The message of “the word of God” is “the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” Revelation 19:13
The entrance of this knowledge of the living Word of God Himself, should cause us to stop and begin to ponder just how we are being led in the gatherings we individually participate. Based on how Christ is lifted up or neglected, we can discern if those gatherings are truly glorifying Him who came and bled to redeem us. | Colossal Colossians
Seems to this disciple that very little time or energy is ever spend on the study of Jesus Christ. He is shunned and set aside for self-serving promises for our own selfish coping and getting along. Am I missing something?
Make no mistake, when a person or organization makes light of the living and written Word of God, he is then turned over by God to the enemy to be deceived and ultimately destroyed (Proverbs 13:13). Consider this critical spiritual truth:
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
The numerous pulpit teachings which scream for want of Biblical content and depth, meet with no resistance in many parts of the church and can be linked directly to Satan’s intensifying plan against the work of God in the earth (Rev. 12:12). The one who will keep his soul to the end must realize that the full-fledged scheme of the enemy is to distort or withhold the true image of God through men, by adding to and subtracting from God’s initial account – written record – of Himself. To beguile, the enemy must alter the original content of God’s Word and change the emphasis. (see Gen. 2:17,3:4) Beware, Satan’s assault comes in cleverly disguised packages. Jesus cautioned:
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening (devouring; extortioning) wolves.” Matthew 7:15
Paul further alerts us to the plaguing proportions of fraudulent undercurrent in ministry when he states:
“For we are not as MANY, which corrupt (pervert) the word of God.” 2 Corinthians 2:17
Note here that the Holy Spirit, through the pen of Paul, uttered that there were already “many” in the ministry perverting the Word of God. If this was occurring in the first century church, just think for a moment of the time (20 centuries) that the enemy has had to twist minds and propagate error since then, hence you might readily conclude that our day will be more treacherous than Paul’s. Is there not a cause to sound the alarm for – due to the pillaging of the image of the Almighty in the hearts of His people, because we have coarsely neglected His Word?! Do we really know Jesus Christ? Is He being revealed in our hearts? Line upon line, precept upon precept through His Word? (See Isaiah 28:9-10)
The disciple of Jesus must tend with vigilance to the safe keeping of his heart and mind. He must set and keep his eyes upon the Word of God (Prov. 4:20-22).
“KEEP (guard) thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
The true believer must be mindful of his enemy’s tactics and brood constantly over his blood-redeemed soul, ready to smite with holy vengeance all seeds that would corrupt pure doctrine (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Since words paint pictures upon the canvas of our minds and hearts, we should be selective as to what we allow our minds to feed upon. For example, it is imperative that we refuse those teachers who conveniently avoid Jesus’ message to all men who would truly follow Him. Christ said that all who would be His must “deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23-24). Instead, false leaders pander to fleshly lusts (Romans 1:18-32;16:17-18; Phil. 3:18-21; 1 Tim. 6:3-5; 2 Tim. 4:1-4).
“CEASE, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.” Proverbs 19:27
O what a shameful and vain perplexity that we are daily, on radio, TV, and from pulpits, pummeled with such hollow messages void of divine wealth from the Holy Scriptures! How tragic in light of 2 Timothy 3:16-4:4!!!
In early America, God-fearing men preached fiery messages about the blazing arrows of God’s holy judgment which were aimed at the wicked and soon to be drunken with the blood of all unrepentant sinners (Psalms 7). Like the preaching of Jesus Christ and John the Baptist, in earlier days, hell was declared boldly to be the eternal judgment of the Almighty upon the wicked. Multitudes hastened to repentance in the fear of God as their iniquity was exposed under the holy lamp of God’s law (Gal. 3:24). Why so little true repentance now? Simple! Our leaders have conveniently defaulted in declaring the full counsel of God, namely the law of God which brings sinners to Christ! (See Galatians 3:24; 1 Timothy 1:7-11) Powder-puff pulpiteers have traded the preaching of the law and the cross for persecution-proof, ear-tickling sermonettes conducive to the acceptance of men, while they build their own kingdoms. This is the spirit of antichrist. In their sin-patronizing messages there is no convicting, eternal substance present to change lives! The apostle Paul said that these deceivers are “the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly (sinful appetites), and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things” (Phil. 3:18-19.)
In the American church we have created a god who is a love-only deity who somewhere along the way lost his justice and judgment attributes. We are not beholding “the goodness AND severity of God,” only the goodness, and therefore have created in the minds of God’s people the image of a false god (Exodus 20:3-4; Proverbs 11:1). According to these abominable omissions, the God of holy wrath no longer exists! This of course, is in blatant denial of Scripture (Mal 3:6; Matt. 10:28; Luke 12:5; Acts 5:1-11; Rom 1:18-20; 1 Cor. 10; Rev 20:10-15).
When asked to comment on Christianity in America, in an article printed in the Dallas Morning News, Richard Owen Rodgers, president of International Awakening Ministries, stated;
“We’re living in a biblically illiterate society…I would say it has occurred because the church has become increasingly careless over the last 40 years or so in proclamation. It’s dealt more with surface issues than solid biblical truths.”
Let it be known that deceivers are only given place by people, namely those who have itching ears, that is, they desire to hear the message that justifies their unpurged sin.
There seems to be 2 Biblical causes for epidemic deception:
1) False Shepherds in places of leadership in the Body of Christ. See Jer. 23; Is. 9:16; 56:10-12; Ez 34; Matt. 7:16-23; Phil. 3:17-19; 1 John 4:1; Rom. 16:17-18….
2) People who claim to be or start out to be of God, then, in their hearts, turn from Him. See Romans 1:21-32; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12; 2 Timothy 4:3…
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.” Amos 8:11
The God-fearing need see the extreme necessity for line upon line, precept upon precept Biblical teaching revealing the true image of the One God who is the Maker and Sustainer of all life. We, the current administration, have fallen down on the job. We have not upheld, as His faithful stewards, the oracles that He left to us. We have tolerated the desecration of the holy through our woeful neglect of His “express image” (Heb. 1:3), unveiled in Scripture. We must repent. In God we will find the unction to begin a full-scale study and declaration of His holy Word, just as that great apostle did (Acts 20:20,27).
We should daily thank God, pray for, and strengthen the genuine men and women of God, who are at war for the souls of men – “Holding forth the word of life” (Phil. 2:16). We must realize that Jesus warned of multitudes of deceivers. He said:
“MANY false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive MANY.” Matthew 24:11
We’ve been invaded from within! There are numerous false prophets peddling distorted teachings that are deceiving the undiscerning. False doctrines are those teachings which misrepresent God. They offer something other than what He contextually said about Himself in His Word. This is why we must learn the truth and be on guard at all times! In contrast to the counterfeit, God’s true ministers soundly and relentlessly proclaim the incomparable Christ, just as He is revealed in the original account. Let it be known though, that clever deceivers who distort the truth, will not be identified nor escaped by the idolater (one who has something else that is more important than God in his life). See 1 Cor. 11:19. However, God does reward the diligent, wholehearted seeker, with His discernment (Matt. 7:15,20; 2 Timothy 2:15; Heb. 5:14; 11:6; Rev. 3:18).
All must be put to the Biblical acid test (1 Jn 4:1-6). The believer must never judge messages or ministers by what he feels is right or wrong, but by what God’s Word says! Make not the fatal mistake of judging ministers against other modern day ministers (2 Cor. 10:12-18). The decline from the Biblical standard is so great, that this method must be deemed altogether unreliable (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-8). Where are the God-fearing men of faith in these last days?
The only safeguard against the deceitful trickeries and omissions, which are sent to move you away from Jesus, is to know Him through the holy Scriptures. Exclusively through the written Word, and God the Holy Spirit, is the perfect image of the Divine going to be etched upon the heart of the fervent seeker. If one is going to intimately know Christ, he must peer at Him continually, through the window of His written Word (Jn. 5:39; James 1:25). Jesus said;
“Search the scriptures…for they are they which testify of me.” John 5:39
THE DIVINE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE GRAND SUBJECT OF ALL SCRIPTURE. JESUS TOLD US CLEARLY THAT HE IS THE SACRED SUBSTANCE OF ALL OF HOLY SCRIPTURE. HE SAID: “AND BEGINNING AT MOSES AND ALL THE PROPHETS (THE ENTIRE OT SCRIPTURES), HE EXPOUNDED UNTO THEM IN ALL THE SCRIPTURES THE THINGS CONCERNING HIMSELF” (LUKE 24:29). ANY PERSON OR LEADER OR ORGANIZATION THAT IS MERELY PICKING OUT PROMISES TO CLAIM FOR THEIR OWN SELF-SERVING BENEFIT, ARE COUNTERFEIT. WHEN JESUS CHRIST IS NOT LITERALLY BEING UPHELD, WORSHIPPED, AND ADORED, THE DEVIL HAS CONQUERED! ALL WHO TRULY KNOW HIM, UPHOLD HIM ALONE AS THE REIGNING NAIL-SCARRED, RISEN LORD AND SAVIOR! He is the precious “first love” of their lives (COLOSSIANS 2:8-10, 18-19; Revelation 2:4-5).
Friend, what know ye of Jesus, from the Bible, His Word? Who do you say that He is? Is your image of Jesus according to His Holy Word? Our Savior has chosen to reveal Himself to His people through His words and He will only be correctly learned through this account He gave us of Himself (Psalms 40:7; 119:105; John 5:39-40; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21, etc.).
“According as his divine power hath given unto us ALL things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust … We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star (the image of Jesus Christ) arise in your hearts. 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:3-4, 19-21
STOP for a moment and think with me …. There would be no Bible, no need for men to read God’s Word, if JESUS were not the central Theme of the whole Bible. Why? That would mean God would have terminated His creation project, His history with mankind, and so there would have been no need to redeem mankind by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son. But God, who “is love,” instituted His plan to redeem fallen man as soon as man sinned and fell (Genesis 3:15; John 3:16-17; 1 John 4:8, 16, etc.). There would be no need for a Bible for fallen man to read and find out about the Savior if God had ended the human race, right? Yet, He has carried out and is carrying out His divine plan of reconciliation, communicating through His Word, of which His only begotten Son, the eternal Word, is the Grand Subject, the Sacred Substance of the Scriptures (John 5:39-40; 2 Peter 1:19-21, etc.).
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” John 5:39-40
The Holy Scriptures have as their Grand Subject the Son of God. Like the pharisees, the religionist of His day, those who hear it and don’t repent, coming to Jesus, forfeit the blessing of His salvation.
In His message to us, the Lord reveals Himself, that we may know Him in an ever-deepening way, by the Holy Spirit and His Word. When His image is inscribed upon the canvas of our hearts through the impassioned study of His holy oracles, we will be drawn to and protected by Him, and consequently, not vulnerable to, but discerning, of the Satanic distortions at work in our midst (2 Tim 3:16,17; Matt.5:6; 1 Pet. 2:2).
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Antichrist
Message from an Antichrist Refuted! Is Jesus Christ Divine? [podcast]
Beware that this message received, below, is from a slick antichrist who misuses Scripture, leaving out truth to promulgate his denial of Christ’s divinity.
MESSAGE RECEIVED:
“I agree that Jesus is the Son of God, King of Kings, my savior, the rock on which the church was built. I agree that the Bible from the beginning to the end tells us about God’s plan toward Jesus, his role in establishing the Kingdom of God and freeing the creation from sin. I love Jesus. This is why it’s hard for me to fathom how on one part you quote that “Jesus is the Son of the Living God” and say that it is this revelation that the church is built on and not Peter, and a moment later you say that Jesus is “the God of all creation”. I think this needs to be clarified. In one place you say that Jesus is God’s “only begotten Son”, then you also say that he always existed. It’s either one or the other. Either Jesus was begotten, or he ever existed. You said that everything in the Bible is about Jesus. So let’s read Micah 5:2: “And you, O Bethʹle·hem Ephʹra·thah, the one too little to be among the thousands of Judah, from you will come out for me the one to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from ancient times, from the days of long ago.” I think we will agree that this scripture speaks about Jesus who will come in the future, but “whose ORIGIN is from ancient times, from the day of long ago”. God, who always was, has no origin. Jesus does. Jesus was begotten, he is “the beginning of the creation of God” (Rev. 3:14), “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation” (Col. 1:15). Peter correctly believed that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. The Holy Spirit revealed it to him. Jesus said so. Jesus also was very clear about the fact that he had God, the Father, who is more powerful than him: “Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’”” (John 20:17). “If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28). “Keep this mental attitude in you that was also in Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.” (Phil. 2:5,6). “But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn, the head of a woman is the man; in turn, the head of the Christ is God.” (1 Cor. 1:13). “But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.” (1 Cor. 15:28). Thanks be to God and to his Son Jesus Christ for giving us a second chance and showing us a way out of darkness. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). May the truth reach everyone. “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3). Hallelujah!”
REPLY:
Isaiah uttered this prophetic word of the coming Messiah: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6-7
Jesus Christ existed “from everlasting” which clearly reveals He has no beginning or ending and is divine.
“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, FROM EVERLASTING.” Micah 5:2
It’s both. Jesus Christ is both God and man. He’s God from eternity past with no beginning or ending and yet became flesh to redeem mankind (Galatians 4:4).
“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4-5
“The Word (Christ) was made flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). Are you denying that Jesus has come in the flesh? That would make you an “antichrist” (1 John 4:3; 2 John 1:7). “Only begotten Son” pertains to the virgin birth of Jesus when He was for a time made flesh to dwell among us and die for us, which is why He came (2 Corinthians 5:19). The “son” who was brought forth was God from all eternity. “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, GOD with us“ (Matthew 1:23). Jesus Christ is God, one of the Members of the triune Godhead, and as such has no beginning or ending. Read Colossians 1.
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
There cannot possibly be a perfect sacrifice without a virgin birth by divine operation.
“Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life”
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” 1 John 5:20
Christ declared: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY“ (Revelation 1:8). 1 Timothy 3:16 says that “GOD was manifest in the flesh” and we know that is not the Father or the Holy Spirit but rather, Jesus who was born of a virgin, incarnate in human flesh, and “GOD … in the flesh” (1 Timothy 3:16). Jesus Christ is divine, has no beginning or ending, has always been and always will be God Almighty. Yet, when it pleased the Father, He was sent to the earth to be born in the flesh (incarnation), to show us the Father, and to redeem mankind. “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,” (Galatians 4:4).
“But when the fulness of the time – Appointed by the Father, Gal 4:2. Was come, God sent forth – From his own bosom. His Son, miraculously made of the substance of a woman – A virgin, without the concurrence of a man. Made under the law – Both under the precept, and under the curse, of it.” John Wesley
“4:4 The fullness of the time refers to the time appointed by the Heavenly Father when the heirs would become of age (see v. 2).”
Of this truth, Galatians 4:4. William MacDonald notes:
“In this verse we have, in a few words, a marvelous statement as to the deity and humanity of the Savior. He is the eternal Son of God; yet He was born of a woman. If Jesus had been only a man, it would be gratuitous to say that He was born of a woman. How else could a mere man be born? The expression, in our Lord’s case, witnesses to His unique Person and the unique mode of His birth.
“Born into the world as an Israelite, He was therefore born under the law. As Son of God, the Lord Jesus would never have been under the law; He was the One who gave it. But, in condescending grace, He put Himself under the law that He had made, in order that He might magnify it in His life, and bear its curse in His death.” William MacDonald, Believer’s Bible Commentary
The Holy Spirit spoke beforetime through the beloved David of this coming event: “I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” (Psalms 2:7)
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;” Revelation 3:14 – “The Lord Jesus speaks of Himself as the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God. As the Amen, He is the embodiment of faithfulness and truth, and the One who guarantees and fulfills the promises of God. He is also the originator of the creation of God, both material and spiritual. The expression, ‘the Beginning of the creation of God’ does not mean that He was the first Person to be created; He was never created. Rather, it means that He began all creation. It does not say that He had a beginning, but that He is the Beginning. He is the origin of the creation of God. And He is pre-eminent over all creation.” William McDonald, Believer’s Bible Commentary
You cited Colossians 1:15 but then you stopped. Let’s look at the text which clearly reveals that as God, Jesus Christ created and sustains all that is: “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Colossians 1:14-17
It’s becoming clear that you are under the control of the spirit of antichrist, which denies the divinity of Jesus Christ. Notice how you quoted John 20:17 yet ignore v. 28 – “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God” (John 20:28).
“Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.” John 14:28 – Of this, William Macdonald notes: “At first it seems as if this verse contradicts all that Jesus had taught concerning His equality with God the Father. But there is no contradiction, and the passage explains the meaning. When Jesus was here on earth, He was hated and hunted, persecuted and pursued. Men blasphemed Him, reviled Him, and spat on Him. He endured terrible indignities from the hands of His creatures. God the Father never suffered such rude treatment from men. He dwelt in heaven, far away from the wickedness of sinners. When the Lord Jesus returned to heaven, He would be where indignities could never come. Therefore, the disciples should have rejoiced when Jesus said that He was going to the Father, because in this sense the Father was greater than He. The Father was not greater as God, but greater because He never came into the world as Man to be cruelly treated. As far as the attributes of deity are concerned, the Son and the Father are equal. But when we think of the lowly place which Jesus took as a Man here on earth, we realize that in that sense, God the Father was greater than He. He was greater as to His position but not His Person.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
The Philippians 2 passage says exactly the opposite of what you asserted. Notice that Jesus “thought it not robbery to be equal with God” because He is God, He is divine and yet, for a time, He humbled Himself and was begotten by the Father through a virgin and was incarnated, clothed upon with human flesh to redeem fallen mankind.
“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:5-7
“PROLOGUE: THE SON OF GOD’S FIRST ADVENT (1:1-18)
John begins his Gospel by speaking about the Word—but he does not explain at first who or what the Word is. A word is a unit of speech by which we express ourselves to others. But John is not writing about speech but rather about a Person. That Person is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. God has fully expressed Himself to mankind in the Person of the Lord Jesus. By coming into the world, Christ has perfectly revealed to us what God is like. By dying for us on the cross, He has told us how much God loves us. Thus Christ is God’s living Word to man, the expression of God’s thoughts.” William MacDonald, Believer’s Bible Commentary
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made … And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:1-3, 14
The divinity of Jesus Christ stated repeatedly here: “the Word was God … ALL things were made by him … the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” The eternality, the infinitude, the divinity of Jesus Christ, the divine Word made flesh, is made known in the Gospel of John in more poignant fashion than any other place in the Bible.
Of John 1:1-5, the late William MacDonald noted:
“The Word in Eternity and Time (1:1-5)
1:1 In the beginning was the Word. He did not have a beginning Himself, but existed from all eternity. As far as the human mind can go back, the Lord Jesus was there. He never was created. He had no beginning. (A genealogy would be out of place in this Gospel of the Son of God.) The Word was with God. He had a separate and distinct personality. He was not just an idea, a thought, or some vague kind of example, but a real Person who lived with God. The Word was God. He not only dwelt with God, but He Himself was God.
“The Bible teaches that there is one God and that there are three Persons in the Godhead—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three of these Persons are God. In this verse, two of the Persons of the Godhead are mentioned—God the Father and God the Son. It is the first of many clear statements in this Gospel that Jesus Christ is God. It is not enough to say that He is “a god,” that He is godlike, or that He is divine. The Bible teaches that He is God.
“1:2 Verse 2 would appear to be a mere repetition of what has been said, but actually it is not. This verse teaches that Christ’s personality and deity were without beginning. He did not become a person for the first time as the Babe of Bethlehem. Nor did He somehow become a god after His resurrection, as some teach today. He is God from all eternity.
“1:3 All things were made through Him. He Himself was not a created being; rather He was the Creator of all things. This includes mankind, the animals, the heavenly planets, the angels —all things visible and invisible. Without Him nothing was made that was made. There can be no possible exception. If a thing was made, He made it. As Creator, He is, of course, superior to anything He has created. All three Persons of the Godhead were involved in the work of creation: ‘God created the heaven and the earth.’ (Gen_1:1). ‘The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.’ (Gen_1:2). ‘All things were created through Him (Christ) and for Him’ (Col_1:16 b).
“1:4 In Him was life. This does not simply mean that He possessed life, but that He was and is the source of life. The word here includes both physical and spiritual life. When we were born, we received physical life. When we are born again, we receive spiritual life. Both come from Him.
“The life was the light of men. The same One who supplied us with life is also the light of men. He provides the guidance and direction necessary for man. It is one thing to exist, but quite another to know how to live, to know the true purpose of life, and to know the way to heaven. The same One who gave us life is the One who provides us with light for the pathway we travel.
“There are seven wonderful titles of our Lord Jesus Christ in this opening chapter of the Gospel. He is called (1) the Word (vv. 1, 14); (2) the Light (vv. 5, 7); (3) the Lamb of God (vv. 29, 36); (4) the Son of God (vv. 34, 49); (5) the Christ (Messiah) (v. 41); (6) the King of Israel (v. 49); and (7) the Son of Man (v. 51). The first four titles, each of which is mentioned at least twice, seem to be universal in application. The last three titles, each of which is mentioned only once, had their first application to Israel, God’s ancient people.” William MacDonald, Believer’s Bible Commentary
Any person who denies that Jesus Christ is God, is a lost soul and an antichrist for denying the record God gave us of His Son. The Messiah was foretold to be “the mighty God,” “Immanuel,” and so anyone denying this part of “the record” of God concerning the Messiah, is antichrist (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7).
“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” 1 John 2:22-23
“2:22 John is careful to point out that to deny the deity of the Lord Jesus is to deny the Father also. Some people like to believe that they worship God, but they do not want to have anything to do with the Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle says, ‘He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.’
“2:23 In Joh_8:19, Joh_8:42, Jesus said that those who failed to recognize His deity and to love Him neither knew the Father nor had Him as their Father. Similarly, John says, ‘Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.’ Here we have the wonderful truth of the unity between the Father and the Son. You cannot have the Father unless you have the Son. This is a message which should be heeded by all Unitarians, Christian Scientists, Muslims, Modernists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Jews.” William MacDonald, Believer’s Bible Commentary
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” 1 John 5:10
“The record that God gave of his Son,” is that which we have of Christ on record, recorded by “holy men of God” (2 Peter 1:19-21). We read in God’s Word, concerning Jesus, that He is “the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8), that “Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58), that “ALL things were created BY HIM” (Colossians 1:16; John 1:3), that “God was manifest in the flesh,” (1 Timothy 3:16), etc.. And so it’s clear that all who deny, who reject the divinity of Jesus Christ, that He is God, are antichrists and have called God a liar.
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18
Your salvation in Christ is most important. Your knowledge of God’s Word determines how effectively, how powerfully you can be used of God.

The Gospel: What is It? [podcast]
Do We Understand the Gospel?
The book of Romans is called by some “The ABC’s of the Christian faith,” and for good reason.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17
The words “gospel of Christ … is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”
The word “gospel” appears 104 times in the Bible, all in the New Testament canon. The bless-ed word “gospel” means the good news. And why is the Gospel good news?
The Good News, the Gospel, is good because of the bad news. The bad news is that fallen mankind is separated from a holy God via his sin. This is the bad news.
The LORD is “Holy, holy, holy” and cannot have relationship with any person whom HE does not make holy by washing them of their sins (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). See also Psalms 5:4 and Habakkuk 1:13.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6
Jesus came to take away the sins of the world so we can fellowship with God who is holy.
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29
Our heavenly Father reconciled us back to Himself, out of a life of sin, through the precious blood of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ!
“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:19
Read Romans chapter 3 in the King James Bible.
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: … 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:10, 23
The bad news is that we have “ALL have sinned” (Romans 3), and are all fully guilty. The impact, the guilt, and the shame is realized when we simply look at the Law of God—the 10 Commandments.
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
Exodus 20
- “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” v3
- “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:” v4
- “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” v7
- “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” v8
- “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” v12
- “Thou shalt not kill.” v13
- “Thou shalt not commit adultery.” v14
- “Thou shalt not steal.” v15
- “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” v16
- “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” v17

The law of God convicts the sinner that he is just that—a sinner, separated from his Maker, “alienated from the life of God” (Ephesians 4:18). Then comes the Good News, the grace, the cross.
The law of God convicts. The Word of God rejoices the heart and enlightens the eyes.
“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” Psalms 19:7-8
The law of God convicts sinners, convinces them that they have sinned before a holy God, and brings them to Christ.
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” Galatians 3:24
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is a good place to begin, where we read that the Gospel is the death, the burial, and the resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ died, was buried, and raised again “for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). That’s the Gospel!
WAS JESUS loving? Yes. The Son of God who died on a cruel wooden cross for your sins was loving enough to warn you that you are going to eternal damnation if you don’t choose to love, worship, and serve Him—on HIS terms (Mark 9:43-49; Luke 12:4-5,etc.). John 3:16 informs us that God so loved the world that He sacrificed His only begotten Son to save you from sin and the lake of fire. Have you personally repented before a holy God and received Jesus into your life? Today is your day. If you are not 100% sure you are genuinely born again, go here first to Make Peace with God
Jesus Christ came as the sinless Son of God to die on a cross, be buried, and raised again from the dead to justify sinners (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 1 Timothy 1:15). CHRISTOLOGY.
We have all sinned against our Maker. We have all lied, stolen, and used His holy name in vain, etc… and are in desperate need of His saving mercy which He gave us in and through Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and raised again from the dead to justify us (Romans 5:6-11).
“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth (displayed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” Romans 5:6-11
Jesus is God and sinless, and He came and died, was buried, and rose again. This is the Good News or Gospel in that He “finished” or “paid in full” the price for our sin with His own precious blood and thereby conquered sin and death saving those who will repent and believe, from having to pay for their own sins in hell forever (John 19:30). Jesus Christ alone fulfilled to the detail over 300 prophecies given by God through His prophets and He alone was qualified to satisfy the claims of His Father’s justice to redeem fallen mankind. He shed His sinless blood for our sin and He alone can save.
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
“The gospel” Paul preached was that “Christ died for our sins … he was buried …he rose again the third day.”
The apostle also tells us here that it is by THIS “gospel … ye are saved” and that you must “keep in memory” the truth contained in this blessed and only Gospel or you will not remain in Christ (John 15:1-6; 1 Corinthians 15:2).
Jesus Christ paid a debt He did not owe and we owe a debt we cannot pay. So, to repent and receive Christ appropriates this unspeakable salvation into our personal lives!
Jesus Christ is unique in all of history. He alone was sent from God the Father, died, was buried, and rose again to rescue mankind from the sin that separated fallen men from God. One writer puts it this way:
“The essentials of the faith include the gospel: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (1 Corinthians 5:1-4); the triune nature of God (1 John 5:7); Jesus is only begotten Son of God (John 3:16); the virgin birth (Matthew 1:20-25); salvation by faith through grace (Ephesians 2:8); and the timing and consequences of the second coming of Christ (Revelation 22:18-19). The Word tells us believing in the doctrine of Christ is essential in having both the Father and His Son (2 John 1:9). It is critical Christians know how to defend against doctrines of demons and deceiving spirits that are distorting and compromising the essentials of the doctrine of Christ (1 Timothy 4:1, 1 John 2:25-29).”

7 Sayings of Jesus on the Cross [podcast]
What Final Statements Did Jesus Make on the Cross and What Did They Mean?
Our LORD Jesus Christ said 7 things while as He was offering His body and precious, sinless blood to buy us back to God. He was suffering for the sins of mankind and for no sin of His own (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 3:18). He was shedding His blood to Re-deem (buy us back) and that’s what Jesus did for “the whole world” when He died on the cross, was buried, and raised again from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 1 John 2:2). Do you know Him?
1. “My God, My God, Why hast thou forsaken me” (Matt. 27:46; Mk. 15:34; Ps. 22:1).
This concerned those who hung Him on the cross and how He became the sin bearer, the sin sacrifice and how the Father could not look on sin, so temporarily turned His head. Jesus was forsaken so that we might be forgiven (Isaiah 53).
Application to us: Job 19:6-10; Psalms 139:8; 2 Corinthians 12:7-12; Hebrews 13:5-6
2. “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Lk. 23:34).
He asked the Father to forgive them – a token of what His shed blood would pay for and facilitate – forgiveness of sin for all who come to Him on His terms to be saved. The sacrificial death of the Son of God satisfied the claims of the Father’s justice to justify mankind (Isaiah 53:11).
Application to us: As God forgave us due to Christ’s perfect sacrifice, He mandates, without exception, that we freely forgive all others, from our hearts. Matthew 5:44; 18:21-35; Mark 11:25-26; Ezekiel 36:24-26; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:12-14
3. “Verily, I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise” (Lk. 23:43).
This promise of forgiveness and eternal comfort given to the thief who believed on Christ in his final moments is the same promise for all who come to Him and are saved (John 6:47).
Application to us: Immediate glory, comfort, and bliss with our LORD at the moment of death. Luke 16:19-31; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:21-23; 1 Corinthians 2:9; Revelation 21:4; Luke 21:28
4. “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit” (Lk. 23:46).
Jesus closes with the prophetic words of Psalm 31:5, speaking to the Father. We see His complete trust in the Father (John 5:30, etc.). Jesus entered death in the same way He lived each day of His life on earth, offering up His life as the perfect sacrifice and placing Himself into the Father’s hands (Luke 22:42).
Application to us: This is a great prayer! Stephen emulated his Savior when being stoned to death for Christ (Acts 7:51-60). “Commend” means to submit. Personally I find these words, while in prayer, rolling off my lips – submitting afresh, daily, and asking the LORD to take full control.
5. “Woman, behold thy son … Behold thy mother” (Jn. 19:26-27).
Jesus, looking down from the cross, was still filled with the concerns of a son for the earthly needs of his mother. None of his half brothers or sisters were there to care for her, so He gave this task to the apostle John (Mark 6:3). Here we see Christ’s humanity.
Application to us: We must take care of earthly responsibilities according to the counsel of the written Word of our God (Psalms 119; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
6. “I thirst” (Jn. 19:28)
Jesus refused the initial drink of vinegar, gall, and myrrh offered to alleviate his suffering (Matthew 27:34 and Mark 15:23). But here, several hours later, we see Jesus fulfilling the messianic prophecy found in Psalm 69:21. By saying He was thirsty, Jesus prompted the Roman guards to give Him vinegar, which was customary at a crucifixion, thereby fulfilling the prophecy which showed that everything was happening according to God’s plan.
Application to us: We must endure hardness, bitter sufferings and seasons (Acts 14:22; 2 Timothy 2:3; James 1:2-4, 12, etc.).
7. “It is finished” (Jn. 19:30).
This means “paid in full.” The sin debt for all was fully satisfied in the sacrifice of our LORD Jesus Christ, the ultimate price was paid to satisfy the claims of the Father’s justice to redeem fallen mankind (Isaiah 53:11). He is “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
Application to us: Jesus accomplished our salvation single handedly, satisfying the claims of divine justice to redeem fallen mankind. He died to abolish law-keeping for righteousness and so we must “walk by faith and not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7; Romans 10:4; Colossians 2:14-19; Hebrews, etc.) Read Romans 3-5; Galatians.
