Apostasy

Is God Guilty of the Horrible things that Happen on His Earth? [podcast]

Instead of taking personal responsibility for their own sins, wrongdoings, many blame God. And, that’s all because they don’t want to be accountable to Him. We have all done this and will do well to admit that this is a coward’s cop-out.

After committing sin, Adam blamed God for the woman He gave him…. he blame shifted.

Wicked man sins against God and reaps what he sows and then turns around and blames God for the calamity he brought upon himself.

“The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.” Proverbs 19:3

“He ascribes his unhappiness not to his own sin, but to God and his providence.” John Wesley

“19:3 When men make a mess of their lives, they turn around and blame the Lord. Thus, Adam tried to put the blame on God with the words ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me . . . (Gen 3:12).

“More than we know, apostasy has its seeds in moral failure. A man engages in some form of immorality, then instead of confessing and forsaking the sin, he turns away from the Christian faith and rages against the LORD. W. F. Adeney comments, ‘It is monstrous to charge the providence of God with the consequences of actions that He has forbidden.'” William MacDonald, Believer’s Bible Commentary

“Because they get into straits and difficulties through the perverseness of their ways; and thus they fret against God; whereas, in every instance, they are the causes of their own calamities.” Adam Clarke

Our own sins should be the sins that concern us the most. That’s exactly what the Son of God taught (Matthew 7:1-5).

What happens is that we sin against God, all OUR own fault… then we blame Him due to the darkness that now possesses our hearts … “men loved darkness rather than light, because THEIR deeds were evil (John 3:19-21).

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:19-21

“Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.” John 12:35

Not only is the LORD not guilty of the evil transpiring on HIS earth, He’s coming back to set up His Government and rid the surface of the earth of all rebels – sinners, the unsaved (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; 2 Peter 3; Revelation 19:11-16, etc.).

All sin is Satan’s and man’s fault, not God’s fault. Read James 1:13-15.

“Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.” Ecclesiastes 7:29

Lots of people blaming God for man’s sin.

Not. “God is good” Psalms 86:5, 15.

Is God guilty of the horrible things that happen to us, that we bring on ourselves and the evil things transpiring on His earth? No.

“The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.” Psalms 145:9

Fallen, sinful man is guilty of all evil, not God. Listen:

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death (separate). 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:13-17

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.” Psalms 5:4

“Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?” Habakkuk 1:13

In the Garden of creation, it was man who chose to rebel against God who gave us all free will.

“Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.” Ecclesiastes 7:29

NEITHER can escape: The wicked can’t escape the curse and the righteous can’t escape the blessing of God. Watch this: The wicked cannot escape the curse they are under – not only in their own homes, but wherever they dwell.

“The CURSE of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he BLESSETH the habitation of the just.” Proverbs 3:33

The blessing of God is upon the righteous and no matter where they are, they are blessed by Him.

Unnecessarily Afflicted

The Holy Scriptures are loaded with passages revealing the rebellion of God’s people – or those who were once in God’s grace and have since departed (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

Oh the blessings we forfeit and things we suffer for not simply seeking and obeying our LORD and Father….

“Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.” Psalms 107:17

“Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.” Jeremiah 5:25

In preparation for the judgment to come, realize that the root of all your sins, your problems, is your own sin. Job here exhorts His friends to reckon and prepare for this judgment we all face, when we will stand before the Almighty to give full account for our lives on the earth.

“But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me? 29 Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.” Job 19:28-29

God desires to bless and yet many choose death and curses.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-21
