Hate Pride

“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” (Malachi 4:1)

God hates pride because it excludes Him from the picture. One cannot be walking in pride and walking in God. The proud are lifted up in their own minds and strength. They go without being sent; they speak having not heard.

You cannot love God and walk in the pride of life. (1 John 2:15,16) To be proud is to be enamored with one’s self. Pride puts self on display to receive man’s praise. Lucifer wasn’t content to let God alone be worshipped. He craved the spotlight. But heaven was not big enough for two Gods, and what goes up, must come down. “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” (Luke 10:18)

Satan is a king. He has a kingdom and followers. “… He is a king over all the children of pride.” (Job 41:34) A day of judgment is in store for “all the proud.” Soon and very soon, the earth will be purged of all who love themselves more than God. An oven awaits every speck of pride in the earth: “… it shall leave them neither root nor branch.”

Judgment has already started at the house of God. This is no time to be corrupted by the “gospel” of the god of this world. Learn how to walk humbly with your God. Love what God loves, and hate what He hates. “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” (Prov. 8:13)

Beware of the temptation to self-love; it is the ever so subtle means to apostasy and judgment.
