True and False Justification [podcast]
“Without faith it is impossible to please him.” (Hebrews 11:6) Faith in the Redeemer. He is the Savior, not us. Some don’t like it when they can’t feel like they are earning their own way with God, earning their own salvation (Romans 3:21-25; 4:4-5).
“But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11
“ALL have sinned” against our God and so our own good works do not atone for our sins (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10, 23). ONLY Jesus could and did do that for us.
Are you saved by grace or law? (John 1:17) Can’t be both. Acts 15 records the first account in New Testament history of judaizers. It answers the question once and for all, forever as to whether or not NEW Testament saints, saved by grace, are under the yoke of the law. Read it.
Only Jesus kept the law perfectly and then nailed it to the cross and “took it out of the way.” (Colossians 2:14-19) Law-keeping can’t save anyone. The Law simply reveals to us just how wicked we are (Romans 7). If law, law-keeping could save us, why did God send and allow His only begotten Son to be crucified for our sins? Have you ever read Galatians 2:16, 21? What about Romans 10:4? How Does God Justify a Person?
