Trying to become a better husband or wife? This is a good, a godly desire, and yet, we must remember that the first order of priority is being a better disciple of Jesus, our “first love” and THEN everything else will come into God’s order, by His enabling grace (Revelation 2:4-5; Matthew 6:33, etc.).

Praying over, incorporating Philippians 2:3-5 in the mornings will change your life forever!

The depth of your dying determines the height of your resurrection. Jesus saved you to serve HIM and others, not yourself (Ephesians 5:25-27). The Christian Life will not and does not work outside of the Cross principle Christ gave us as the prescription for following Him – the “daily” death, burial, and raising up (Luke 9:23-24; 2 Corinthians 4:10-12).

SO sir, do you need a certain day of the year, just one day, to obey God in loving, cherishing, romancing the lovely wife HE gave you? Valentine’s day? This is the same thing as Christmas…. where any God-less person can pretend to show love, one day per year. That’s what the devil wants – for people to pretend to be loving just 1 of the 365 days of the year. Let’s make it our lifestyle gentlemen.

Jesus gave all to purchase His bride (body of Christ) and He commands men to love their wives 365! (Ephesians 5:25-27)

Dear men of God, gentlemen, let us heed the divine wisdom communicated to Lemuel via his mother. Prov 31:3 God disdains weak men, Ahabs. He made you to rule in His wisdom, love, and truth – to protect, cherish, and provide for women and children (Genesis 2:15; Psalms 8:6; Ephesians 5:25-27; Revelation 2:20-24, etc.). Perhaps the prayer of Paul in Ephesians 3:16 is a good place to begin. 

“Give not thy strength (role, position) unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.” Proverbs 31:3
