God is “Holy, holy, holy,” and the wages of sin is still eternal death (Isaiah 6:3; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 12:14-17; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 4:8). You cannot be “in Christ” and in sin. You are either “in Christ” OR in sin.
Only those who refuse to lay down their lives in this sinful world believe OSAS ….. they are dishonest… and it’s not going to end well for them. They call the LORD a liar.
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation 3:19
Read His letter to the Laodiceans – and to us! See Revelation 3:14-22. Read is prayerfully and several times. JESUS is speaking to His very own …. says here that He rebukes, chastens, and calls to repentance His own. WHY O WHY would the LORD be rebuking, chastening, and calling to repentance His people unless they were in great danger? The Laodicea Christians were in sin – backslidden – and if Jesus says they had to “repent,” it could only be due to their separated state and impending eternal doom if they didn’t repent. Initial and continual repentance as needed, is a divine ultimatum, imperative – without which eternal glory will not be received: “Except ye repent, ye shall ALL likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3, 5)
“For if AFTER they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (impossible without being born again), they are AGAIN entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, AFTER they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.” 2 Peter 2:20-21
This same conditional salvation is taught from Genesis to Revelation. For example, note this very important truth of God found in Ezekiel. Study this closely and repetitively:
“Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. 13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.” Ezekiel 33:12-13
“He who finishes the race shall receive his reward and his crown of life! 2 Timothy 4:7 – 4:8, Philippians 3:14, Galatians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 9:24-25.” Charles Pray
Obedience to the LORD is not works salvation. There will without fail always be the fruit of good works in the life of the true believer. The fruit nor works save them yet they are evidence of truly knowing Christ. John 15:1-6…. also “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1 John 2:4
IT doesn’t matter if you ignore the conditions for final salvation – they are still there in God’s Word and you are personally accountable. Hell awaits if you don’t fulfill them. Get over yourself by truly repenting. When you truly repent and get right with the LORD, you will delight to do God’s will and cease hiding behind foolish excuses using your OSAS fairy tale.
Not only is there not even one promise in Scripture of an UN-conditional eternal security, there are numerous promises that ALL who die in sin will spend eternity in the lake of fire. For example, check this out. Look at exactly who will be excluded from eternal glory and incarcerated irrevocably in the lake of fire. Also, in this verse, notice that Jesus never says “Oh, unless you were saved in the past at some point.”
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
The Bible says that the wages of sin is STILL death or eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). The deceived UN-conditional eternal security defenders never factor the paramount biblical truth that God is “Holy, holy, holy” and so they are beguiled into thinking that someone living in or who dies in sin will go to Heaven (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). Nothing could be further from the truth and so saints, we must keep the righteous garments Jesus gave us spotless -without the spot of sin!
“Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:25-27
Unto WHOOOO? “And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;” (Hebrews 5:9) The un-conditional eternal security beguilers focus only on “eternal salvation” while purposely ignoring the condition – “unto all them THAT OBEY HIM.”
“I don’t believe in unconditional eternal security either, and many quarrel with me over this doctrine. I do believe we can be saved and we can know it. As long as we walk with Christ daily, we can be secure in our salvation.” Jim Borge
