Unconfessed Sin? by todd tomasella
What does the Church Jesus is coming for look like?
“Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:25-27
How does the “ready” disciple live?
“And every man that hath this hope (of Christ’s return) in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” 1 John 3:3
If a person claiming to be saved is living with unconfessed sin, that person is not abiding/remaining in a saving relationship with the only Savior and will be cast into the fires of hell unless the repent and return to Jesus (John 15:1-6).
IF you are truly born again, the only sin on your record is that one or more which you have not yet confessed. Do it now.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not…” 1 John 3:5-6 (KJB) Read that last passage again one more time and you will see. If my life is truly Christ-centered, I simply cannot believe that I am saved and ready for Heaven if I am currently living with/in sin. If I am abiding in a relationship with the only Savior, who is “Holy, holy, holy,” I will have no unconfessed sin on my record (Isaiah 6:3; Heb. 12:14; 1 John 1:7, 9,Rev. 21:8, 27; 22:14-15, etc.).
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from ALL filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1
If a person is not saved from sin, they are not saved for God’s “Holy, holy, holy” Heaven (Rev. 4:8; 21:8). Victory over sin and self is the manifest proof that one is abiding in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ who is the only One who can save from sin, satan, and eternal hell.
It’s not God’s power that is limited, it’s our sin that limits Him. Read this closely:
“Behold, the Lord’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. 4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.” Isaiah 59:1-4
How is sin overcome?
“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:9-11
Saints, let us never make excuse for what God calls sin in His Word. No, instead, let us honestly admit it before Him, cry out to Him to deliver. Never cover. Always confess. Memorize Proverbs 28:13 today, meditate upon it, share it.
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13
