Have you ever had a past sin nag you for many years after you committed and even confessed and were forgiven for it?

WHEN we DO what is right, then and only then do we have the bless-ed confirmation of a clear conscience. AND, doing what’s right begins with re-turning, turning afresh to our LORD and confessing all sin.

“God is greater than our heart”

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19  And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.” 1 John 3:18-21

In fellowshipping with other men who serve our LORD, I’ve often heard them say how that sins they committed in the past still bother than in a hindering way. Yet, we know that God knows all these things and “is greater than our heart” and provided a complete salvation through the blood of His only begotten Son!

“WHEN HE HAD BY HIMSELF purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:3

ALL “BY HIMSELF” Jesus redeemed us, bought, brought us back to God by the shedding of His precious blood on that cross. Jesus needed no help: He alone was sufficient to propitiate, expiate, atone for the sins of mankind.

Every wayfaring saint, a sojourner in this life, with no exception, is in need of crying out to God in repentance on a regular basis as did David. And to our great benefit, our LORD graciously had David’s praying in repentance recorded for us in Psalm 51!!! Anyone else want to join me is praising God for all His goodness??!!!!

“Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” Psalms 107:21

Feeling condemned? In Christ, with Christ, shame has NO place to hide beloved!

WHAT confessed sin of your life or anyone else’s are you elevating above the blood of Christ’s cross? Idolatry! repent now and rejoice in His forgiveness! 1 John 1:9; Hebrews 8:12; 9:14; Proverbs 28:13

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14

“I am 62 years old, and I find the most wonderful thing you can have is a clear conscious. You will be able to appreciate the small things in life, the animals outside, a beautiful day. You can sleep sound and generally be in a great mood. The feeling is amazing.” John H.

God desires this for each of His children. Read this closely. This is the divine effect He wants for your life.

“Now the end of the commandment (chief goal/purpose of the whole Word) is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:” 1 Timothy 1:5

God sees it all and so it’s best to come clean, completely, to bring our darkness into the light, before it’s too late. “He that covereth (attempts to hide) his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13)

Only Jesus could have satisfied the claims of the Father’s justice to redeem, to forgiven men – and He did just that – when He shed His perfect, precious, sinless blood on Calvary’s cruel cross for our sins. “It is finished” means the price to bring us back to God, to forgive us, is now “Paid in full.” (John 19:30)

As was the case with the beloved David, so shall we also receive mercy from God upon repenting, and yet, we must also reap what we have sown (Galatians 6:7-8).

WHEN we stop, step back and meditate upon how few times, how seldom we hear the cardinal, central, essential Bible message, doctrine of the BLOOD of Jesus Christ, the stunning reality of the foretold great departure from the faith will begin to set in (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

NEWS FLASH: If you’re a born again child of God and have confessed that sin, He has forgiven you and will remember it no more! You are forgiven. You are cleansed. You are free to serve Him! Forget it now….. Psalms 103:10-12; Philippians 3:13-14; Hebrews 8:12; 9:14; 1 John 1:9, etc.

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. … And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12; 10:17

Father in Heaven, here and now I lay my life in Your holy hands. In the name of Jesus Christ, I thank You so very much for the precious, sinless, perfect, cleansing blood of Jesus washing me clear and clean of all sin and purging my conscience pure. I love You my LORD Jesus and thank You for finding and saving me by Your blood! In Jesus’ name, amen!

Mercy!

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, PURGE YOUR CONSCIENCE from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Forget All Past Sins – Deliberately Put them all where they belong, under the blood and in your past!

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

Your Sins are Blotted Out! – Gone forever!

“I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” Isaiah 44:22

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;” Acts 3:19

Have you ever wondered about the transaction of forgiveness for our sins as we walk through this life with Christ? Notice in this passage below how Satan accuses God’s children day and night of their sins and yet the remnant of Christ’s elect continue to fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, they repent, confess all sin, and they walk in the light as He is in the light, and as they do Jesus’ blood cleanses them afresh! (1 John 1:7)

“…for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:10-11

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7

Laboring Fervently for Christ’s Body [podcast]

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. 13  For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.” Colossians 4:12-13

One source notes:

“Epaphras’ prayer is a powerful New Testament model of intercession found in Colossians 4:12. As the founder of the church in Colossae, Epaphras is described by the Apostle Paul as “wrestling” or “laboring earnestly” in prayer so that his congregation would stand mature, firm, and fully assured in the will of God.”

Jesus Heals the Paralytic Man who was Dropped Down to Him from the Roof

Mark 2

“1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

2  And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

3  And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

4  And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

5  When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

6  But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

7  Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

8  And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

9  Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

10  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

11  I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

12  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.” Mark 2:1-12

Abiding Under the Shadow of the Almighty [podcast]

Lord, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart:  Jeremiah 15:15-16

Dwelling “in the secret place of the most High”

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalms 91:1-2

“In the secret place of the Most High – Spoken probably in reference to the Holy of holies. He who enters legitimately there shall be covered with the cloud of God’s glory – the protection of the all-sufficient God. This was the privilege of the high priest only, under the law: but under the new covenant all believers in Christ have boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus; and those who thus enter are safe from every evil.” Adam Clarke

“[Psalms] 91:1, 2 Jesus is the One who in a preeminent way dwelt in the secret place of the Most High, and abode under the shadow of the Almighty. There never was a life like His. He lived in absolute, unbroken fellowship with God, His Father. He never acted in self-will but did only those things that the Father directed. Though He was perfect God, He was also perfect Man, and He lived His life on earth in utter and complete dependence on God. Without equivocation He could look up and say, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust.” Believer’s Bible Commentary
