Snatched from the Jaws of Death

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” Acts 26:18

Today, I watched a video where a mother was interview who had wrestled the shark to let go of her daughter whom the beast had begun to try to swallow this woman’s daughter. Or, the mother wrestled her daughter from the jaws of that deadly shark and the jaws of death. The daughter was smiling, knowing she escaped death. As I pondered the love of this mother, the restorative, protective love God put in her, I began to meditate on the love of our Father who sent His only begotten Son to give us redemption and victory over all sin and eternal punishment, and how He has many times wrestled us from the jaws of death. Can you relate? Do you have personal testimonies of His love? Should we be smiling today with the joy of our Great God and Savior who loved us and gave His life for us?

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet (fit; able) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:12-14

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God …” 1 John 3:1

The Father continues to do His good pleasure in His saints.

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:31-32

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13

Does God Sing? Over whom does the Most High sing?

“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

Where is God’s “delight”?

“But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.” Psalms 16:3

God has “good will to men” and desires and requires that we be possessed with this same disposition as His children (Matthew 5:44-48; Luke 2:14).

Keep in mind that God promises to show us mercy through the merit of Christ as long as we show mercy upon others in our attitudes and deeds.

“And forgive us our debts, AS we forgive our debtors.” Matthew 6:12

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25-26

“For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” James 2:13
