Norman Vincent Peale Guidepost Magazine Exposed

LOTS of people peddling a false gospel. Christ and His cross is the Gospel message. Whole lot of PMA, new age self-actualization, law of attraction, etc. being peddled and pawned off as the gospel. Not. The change God requires begins with admitting one is a sinner. Repentance and putting your faith in Jesus Christ is a must and not just changing your mind or perspective. The Gospel begins when the sinner repents in obedience to the command of God. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30) Peace with God

It’s positively true that hell is full of people who had a positive mental attitude (PMA).

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:8-10

In an interview with Phil Donahue in 1984, Peale said: “It’s not necessary to be born again. You have your way to God; I have mine. I found eternal peace in a Shinto shrine. … I’ve been to the Shinto shrines, and God is everywhere.” Donahue exclaimed, “But you’re a Christian minister; you’re supposed to tell me that Christ is …”

Peale’s spirituality was a mix of Christian Science and mind science teachings with a bit of Christian terminology: “The world you live in is mental and not physical. Change your thought and you change everything. (Braden, Spirits, p. 387.) Your unconscious mind … [has a] power that turns wishes into realities when the wishes are strong enough.” (Norman Vincent Peale, Positive Imaging p. 77, 1982)
