Laid Out on the Street Corner

DRUNKEN and Laid Out on the Street Corner … That’s how we found Mark. But thank God that’s not how this young man was left!

—- DALLAS, TEXAS: Please lift up Mark in prayer. Brother Chad and I were blessed to help Mark (pictured) after we found him laying out on a street corner. He had thrown up and was completely incapacitated. While Chad stayed with Mark, I rushed over to a nearby restaurant and got 2 large ice waters. Within minutes after we sat him up and began “making” him drink that cold water, he began to come back to life. Mark had apparently had too much to drink at the hockey game he had attended. Chad and I were both thankful to be blessed to have met this young man. He is an extremely sincere, seeking soul and yet subject under the control of sin…. But please pray he will soon be saved. We are in regular communication with him and he is hungry to know Christ and even stated this very thing several times that night.

Chad nor I said anything about the LORD in the beginning. We were seeking to simply help him out in the immediate need of protecting Mark from being arrested for public intoxication, etc. The cops even came over to speak with me and I assured them that we had this taken care of. They were gracious and allowed us to continue on without intervening.

God’s Love is Shining Brightly Through His Beloved Body

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

The light of Jesus Christ is shining brightly through His beloved people!

Mark asked us if we were Christians before we even mentioned it. Several times, Mark said “The most loving people in the world, the only people who help others out, is Christians.” He had apparently been greatly impacted in the past by the love of God in His people and also made it abundantly clear (verbally) that he was greatly blessed that brother Chad and I were helping him.

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35

We were blessed to spend about 3-4 hours with Mark and ministered God’s Word at length to him as he eagerly devoured it in his heart and mind. I pulled up the King James Bible on my phone and began reading it to him, side by side. After about 4 verses into Psalms chapter 40, Mark took over and began reading it out loud. I sat silent and read along with him as he hungrily read those divinely inspired words out loud.

Another thing that confirmed God’s hand in this divine encounter, is that Mark told us point blank that God has been convicting and drawing him for a long, long time. Mark was given several of the Ten Commandments verbatim and admitted to having broken all of them. He was then given the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. We prayed with Mark, asking God to clear the way for him to repent and be born again.

Thank you for praying for Mark. I’ve already been in touch with Mark several times today and he’s meeting up with Chad for ministry in the morning.  Because You Care
