How to Pray Effectively for Your Friends and Family! [podcast]

Someone has wisely stated that “We are never more like Jesus than when we are praying for others.”

Which of God’s people are on your prayer list?

How to Pray EffectivelyNo greater way to serve another than to lift them up to the Father in the name of Jesus!

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” Philippians 2:3-5

Praying for others should become a pleasure. Ceasing to pray for others is a sin.

“Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:” 1 Samuel 12:23

Since we are to pray God’s will, His WORD, it stands that our prayer life increases in proportion with knowing the One we’re praying to, knowing His Word. With the increase of Bible knowledge comes the increase in our prayer life.

Prayer Success comes from praying God’s Word which is God’s stated will. We are blessed to pray the Word which is the will of God for other of His saints. How to Pray Effectively.

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1 John 5:14

“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:” 1 Peter 3:12

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

We are taught to always pray to the Father in the name of Jesus

“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14

Before the cross, burial, resurrection, and ascension back into Heaven with His Father, Jesus tells us: “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:23-24)

In other words, our LORD is telling us: “I’m going back to the Father, to sprinkle my precious blood on the mercy seat in Heaven and to sit on His right hand of power to intercede for you at the throne of grace!” Read Hebrews!
